Newspaper: Qarandil Number: 107 Date: June 1, 1950 Why is the deportation of Jews delayed? Snail-paced procedures that have no justification! For about two months, the process of registering Jews who want to leave Iraq has been in full swing... Everyone who registers settles his business, ends his relations with people... and sends his furniture to Hajj Ahmed Hussein al-Sabbagh to be disposed of in his public auction... Finally, the first batch of Jews whose Iraqi citizenship was revoked traveled... so the demand for registration increased... and for buying winter fabrics, blankets, and bags... the second batch traveled, then the travel of the third batch was delayed! Someone might say, why does the delay matter to us? We say to him that this large number of Jews who have expressed their desire to renounce their citizenship should not remain like this... but rather they must be deported as quickly as possible, in order to reach an achievement of stability at the earliest opportunity because the Jews left behind an unthanked void in the commercial circles, and this tangible disturbance in commercial transactions and in the prices of goods, and the prices of vacant lands and roofed properties like houses and others resulted from their intention to emigrate from Iraq... If the deportation remains within this narrow scope, then the liquidation will not be completed easily, and with the desired speed, but rather the period of disturbance and chaos will be prolonged! The snail-paced procedures have no meaning at all, as what does it matter to the government if the Jew who wants to emigrate had his father or brother flee previously?! They want to travel according to the law and that is enough, so "quench the thirst" of the transactions, and end this problem that became so complicated that the government found nothing to solve it except the law in which it allowed them to travel after stripping them of their citizenship. And we would like to alert the government to a matter of great importance, which is that it aimed through the law to eliminate incidents of smuggling Jews to Iran, but the slowness of the deportation process led to the renewal of the smuggling movement's activity, because the Jew who finished his business and prepared the equipment for travel sees nothing that harms him in fleeing to Iran and from there to the "Promised Land", especially if he sees that his deportation may not take place except after a long time... rather, some of them believe that the government may suddenly decide to stop implementing the law... and we can confirm to officials that smuggling incidents have been renewed, and they can confirm this from the Iraqi embassy in Tehran, for it has undoubtedly heard of the arrival of some Jews from Iraq recently! Especially since the Zionist associations there do not work in secret, particularly after the establishment of political relations between Israel and the dear neighbor "Iran". These passing remarks we present to the officials and we request them to speed up the conclusion of this issue, so whoever emigrates may emigrate, and whoever wishes to stay may stay... and let there be among the travelers the minor and the disabled, and the one whose son fled, for what is that to us, the important thing is that this situation must not remain for a longer period, resulting in continued confusion in the markets and disturbance in transactions! In this, there is great harm to the people, and this is what we believe the government knows and is not ignorant of, yet it sticks to the snail-paced method when conducting deportation transactions! O Juliet, what is this silence? And the Juliet intended here are some of the opposition leaders among the members of the Chamber of Deputies who resigned... and their voices were "ringing" in the Council, but when they left it, they closed their mouths with golden locks, so the people did not hear of them, nor heard from them a single word expressing an opinion on the many serious issues that concern the country and the people of the country, and which may decide the fate of some aspects of life in it for a long time! Al-Jomard has gone silent, Al-Farsi has gone silent, Al-Chalabi has gone silent, and Al-Shaykhli has gone silent... they have almost all gone silent, even though there are many respected newspapers in Iraq that welcome their opinions... and welcome their articles... but they - it seems - believe that speech is not permitted except in the Council... but as the morning overtook Scheherazade... there remains no speech that "can be permitted"!!
Mail: Telephone Number: 722 Date: June 10, 1950 News of the Jews Read here the most important news concerning the telephone through correspondence, telephone, and newspapers regarding news of Israel Operation (Ali Baba) The newspaper Beirut mentioned that the operation of transferring Jews from Iraq to Israel by air will be called Operation (Ali Baba) and the cost of transporting one immigrant will be 50 dollars. Departure of the third convoy 1200 people whose Iraqi citizenship was revoked have completed all matters relating to their transactions and have paid their travel fees and nothing remains except for them to be authorized to leave Iraq. Yesterday morning, one plane departed and yesterday evening another plane departed, carrying about 160 passengers, including the crew, and they will take the same route to Israel. Turkey and the Jews After the recent parliamentary elections, the correspondent of the Haaretz newspaper in Ankara believes that the results of the parliamentary elections in Turkey will have a general impact on Turkey's policy in the Middle East, and it is expected that the Democratic Party will sever all relations that the government of Ismet Inonu had established with the Jews in Israel and will pursue a new policy regarding the Arab countries.
Newspaper: Al-Sha'ab Number: 1228 Date: June 5, 1950 AD Another plane departs carrying 95 of the Jews whose citizenship was revoked Yesterday morning, a plane departed carrying 95 people from the Jews whose Iraqi citizenship was revoked, and it is understood that another plane will depart today carrying a similar number.
Newspaper: Al-Inqadh Number: 129 Date: June 5, 1950 The Problem of Iraqi Jewish Emigration The Primary Factor of our Economic and Financial Crisis Written by Mr. Mahmoud Al-Durra Among the problems and crises Iraq is suffering from, which directly touch its core being, is the problem of its Jewish citizens, whose number exceeds one hundred thousand people, and which emerged clearly after the developments of the Palestinian issue in the form in which it concluded. It was within the government's power to treat the situation arising from this problem with a decisive remedy that would prevent its development into the form it has crystallized into, if it had viewed the issue from all its aspects and placed its solutions in light of the public interest and the reality of matters instead of that law it enacted, which did not fulfill the means capable of solving the problem from all its sides. Days have proven what we expected on the morrow of the issuance of the Denationalization Law a few months ago; thus the problem of the Iraqi Jews exceeded its boundaries, within which its impact on Iraq could have been limited to the narrowest scope. It confused its financial affairs and paralyzed its economy and trade with a paralysis that should not be overlooked or met with silence. Whatever is said about the feelings of this minority that has lived in this country since the captivity of Nebuchadnezzar until now, and merged into its midst and shared its joys and sorrows for over twenty-some centuries of time... what is beyond doubt is that these Jews have adhered to their religious racism with a tenacity unparalleled among the peoples of the world. Their complete mixing in public life among the population did not prevent their withdrawal into their own society and their insistence on adhering to the teachings of their prophets. Whatever the private interests of some of them necessitated living in societies foreign to them, they never ceased to look toward the Promised Land, from which international politics created a homeland and a state for Israel. For the Jew today, no matter how loyal he is to his second homeland here or there, his loyalty to Israel forms a part of his life, being, and faith. The Iraqi Jews dominated, after the British entered this country during the First Great War, Iraq's trade and the largest portion of its monetary wealth. Their dominance and control increased after the events of 1941, when the occupying British enabled them once again to monopolize trade during the Second Great War and direct it in the direction they wished. With the wealth of war, their hands extended to land and real estate, so they owned the prime portion of the capital's lands and properties and built modern neighborhoods in it. Their influence, by virtue of wealth, extended to state institutions as well. It was natural for this to anger the majority of the deprived indigenous population and generate in their souls hatred for the minority that monopolized, through its activity and vigor, the country's resources. This hatred crystallized with the development of the stages of the Palestinian issue. The government, under the pressure of public opinion, began taking some measures to limit their influence and activity in the field of public life. Under the influence of these factors and those, the Jews of Iraq did not find themselves in a position that helped them continue living in this country or residing in it... and it is their right to hold this view, just as it is the right of non-Jewish citizens to hold it as well. Logic and justice required the Government of Iraq to set a clear plan for the emigration of Jews from the country, so this comprehensive emigration would eliminate all provocative factors that might arise in the future from their presence. This emigration is more in the interest of the Jews than it is in the interest of the other residents, who will lose from their country a vital element of the national economy and urban development. In all cases resulting from a mass emigration like this, international tradition has been for the concerned governments to consider the interests of their countries before any other humanitarian factor. Turkey, Greece, India, or Pakistan did not permit emigrants from their countries to take their wealth with them or to be left free to liquidate their properties as they wished, because such a thing exposes the national wealth to the gravest dangers. As for the Jews in Palestine - most of whom are Jews arriving from the West, influenced by its philosophy whose misfortunes and woes they themselves tasted - they carried out, with the help of the English, a process of absolute eradication to eliminate the country's original inhabitants, forcing them ⟦...⟧ The remainder on p. 4
Newspaper: Al-Ittihad Number: 150 Date: June 20, 1950 Revoke the citizenships of all Jews in one batch then let whoever wants among them request re-naturalization The process of revoking the citizenship of Iraqi Jews one by one takes a very long time. If we assume that the process of revoking the citizenship of one person takes only three hours of one employee's time, then revoking the citizenship of 100,000 Jews would not have enough time in a thousand days if 50 employees carried out the work?! Speeding up their deportation process is very necessary because the state of the financial market fluctuates more as long as the liquidation process takes, and the markets will not stabilize until after all of them depart. Also, some of them are ashamed to apply for the revocation of their citizenship, such as the MPs among them, for example, and the employees, etc. So it is better for the Iraqi public interest and for the Jews' private interest to issue a law revoking the citizenship of all of them in one batch, provided that the right remains for anyone who wishes among them to submit a petition to the government requesting re-naturalization, and the government will look into their request. In this way, there is a benefit for Arabism and for Iraq, as the one who will request renewal of his citizenship would have implicitly declared his innocence from the State of Israel (and we shall see how many of them will request re- naturalization!!) Juha was told to count the names of the insane, so he said I will count the names of the sane because that is shorter. So our point is that instead of our government occupying its time with processing the transactions of those who want to revoke their citizenships, it should work on the processes of those who do not want to revoke it, as that is shorter and more appropriate. Muhammad Rizq Allah Augustin Remainder of the Editorial Article The end of the British Mandate with operations of mass killings as happened in Deir Yassin and Tiberias and others, so that when the Arabs left their homes fearing general slaughter, the Jews took control over all their lands, properties, and their cash wealth, even that deposited at foreign banks (and all of them are British of course). It was a process of uprooting without parallel in human history at all, and I do not think that humanity will one day perform its equivalent except by their hands! And we do not want to meet brutality and barbarism with the same because we hold humanity above sinking to this low point of meanness and cruelty... and we do not want the Jews to be expelled from Iraq - while they are still citizens with whom we share very old relationships... as the Greeks were expelled from Turkey and as the Indians were expelled from both sides of India and Pakistan. We do not want this or that, but we do not want at the same time for our national economy to be destroyed or our national wealth to sink to the bottom. However, what we witness today in Baghdad and other parts of mainland Iraq calls us to pessimism regarding the fluid position the government is taking towards this problem, and it also calls us to warn this government of the consequences of this position for which it will be held accountable one day. And the matter is not limited to the dangers that resulted from smuggling Jews to Iran while the fugitives still enjoy their Iraqi citizenship, meaning the great wealth they took with them through various ways and means. Before us now is a problem of wide-scale migration, and the treatment of an emergency economic crisis and serious financial confusion, and wealth that must not be converted into cash to be smuggled out of the country under any circumstances. In the face of these problems, they must be studied carefully and quick solutions be put in place that do not tolerate delay or collusion. As for migration, it must be collective and as fast as possible, so as not to prevail for the sake of cheap self-interest enjoyed by some individuals and some entities in the manner currently followed in transporting the migrants. Also, we find nothing to prevent the departure of Jewish elites with Iraqi passports, whereby their citizenships are revoked upon leaving the country to allow these people to travel to countries other than Palestine they wish to go to, instead of their desire to go to Palestine, similar to what Egypt did. With these rapid measures in ending the migration problem, conditions in the country will stabilize in a few months in the form it would have stabilized after two or three years. As for preserving the country's national wealth, it requires preventing the sale of properties, real estate, and lands, and freezing them in the hands of a faithful custodian following their legal owners until the Palestinian problem is settled finally. This measure helps to limit the increasing cash crisis in the markets and relatively stabilizes the financial situation in the country.
Al-Husun 281 7 June 1950 Jewish emigration in its current form is the best guarantee for protecting the economic entity The talk about the emigration of Iraq's Jews has become a subject of research and discussion by some local newspapers in recent days, and all that was mentioned in those discussions is a support for the current government's position on this serious issue, as everyone agrees that the presence of Jews in Iraq after the establishment of a state towards which they all turn with their hearts, souls, and wealth, is a matter that may cause severe damage to Iraq, especially since it is still in a state of war with that state, and the presence of Jews in Iraq is nothing more than the presence of a fifth column for the enemy state, and it is not in the national interest for Iraq to keep Jews who long for the enemy. This is what everyone agreed upon, and therefore the emigration of Jews to Iraqis became a serious national problem that the current ministry succeeded in resolving according to the Law of Revocation of Citizenship for those who wish to leave Iraq. Many journalistic commentators were hasty in saying that this law would help the Jews liquidate their properties and take all their wealth abroad, until the government issued its well-known instructions in this regard and limited the amounts allowed to be taken out of Iraq, which was met with complete satisfaction from the people. No aspects of the problem remain requiring debate except for one side, which is the slowing down or speeding up of its completion, and what the liquidation causes in terms of a significant drop in the prices of movable and immovable property, and what that leads to in terms of unemployment for those who sell these properties or their makers, and what the sudden exit of Jews from the commercial field causes in terms of massive stagnation and a serious halt in buying and selling. However, the current righteous government was not oblivious to these matters, and the deportation of Jews is now taking place in a way that cannot lead to the anticipated serious consequences, as it has also issued a law regarding the postponement of debt collection on mortgaged immovable property, for fear that selling these properties en masse would lead to a significant drop in their prices, causing heavy losses and flagrant injustice to their owners among the true citizens. Al-Husun has discussed in previous issues the benefits of this emigration and what it will lead to in the future in terms of providing many jobs for the unemployed, the control of national elements over the country's trade, and the disappearance of factors of anxiety and unrest from the Kingdom and its direction toward stability and a happy life. We did not wish to return to the subject if not for The remainder on page four
Newspaper: Al-I'timad Number: 151 Date: June 7, 1950 Unfortunate Incident An unfortunate incident spread in Baghdad yesterday, causing pain to everyone who heard it, which is that a man who practices a respectable profession and comes from a respectable religious family plays a role that is not befitting for someone of this man's status to perform, and in a lowly manner to a degree that taste rejects. This was by claiming that these Jews, whom he sought to smuggle in women's clothing, were members of his family! While we have not confirmed that this man has committed such a disgraceful incident, we believe and hope that this incident is fabricated and has no basis in truth, for such an act does not harm this man alone nor the reputation of his family alone, but rather harms the career he practices and the Iraqi reputation abroad when they mention that a man of law has resorted to smuggling Jews in this dishonorable manner. We hope that a denial of this incident will be issued by the professor himself! Remaining Jewish Migration What we recently read in some local newspapers of an explicit call to speed up the deportation of Jews under the pretext that this would help in getting rid of them at the earliest possible time, without the researching brothers considering what this phenomenon leads to in terms of serious economic damage to the country, and that the mass deportation of Jews is in their interest and not in the interest of Iraq. What is happening now in terms of deportation in an intermittent manner and in the form of varying batches may help much in mitigating the potential risks of this migration, as their exit from the market is gradual and their sale of movable property is staggered and in a way that does not affect its market and does not lead to confusing the economic situation, as would be the case if they were deported in bulk and began liquidation at the same time. We do not hide our opinion that the current law needs to be extended for another year or two to avoid the dangers and what rapid migration causes. Many European countries have adopted this principle, and we are not as keen on the interest of Jews as those countries are, such that we would wreck our economies and destroy our markets for the sake of the beautiful eyes of the Jews who desire rapid migration. This is Poland, which is among the most Jewish-populated countries and most keen on the interest of Israel, has allowed the migration of Jews provided that it takes place at a rate of two hundred people per month. Should Iraq be more keen than Poland on the Jews and allow their rapid migration as they wish? Accordingly, everything that is written and published calling for facilitating and easing migration is in the interest of the Jews alone. Our hope in the present loyal government is that it persists in observing the country's interest in every action, as is the habit of its men and leaders known for loyalty and patriotism. For the delay of Shalom, Hesqel, and Mordechai from traveling for a few days or weeks is less harmful to Iraq than offering property for sale in enormous quantities in order to speed up their travel. We hope the brothers speaking on these matters will put the public interest before their eyes and not be driven by their words - out of good intention, of course - before scrutinizing matters and calculating the consequences. ⟦line⟧
Al-Hawadith 77 June 10 - 1950 !! Its protector is its thief He who is safe from punishment misbehaves Yesterday we published an important news item referring to the crime of smuggling two Jews, the hero of which is "The Professor !!" "The Lawyer" Mr. Salim Mahmoud; and we would not have celebrated such news if Mr. Salim Mahmoud were among the ordinary people who have no share in realizing any value in society, but our interest in this news is due to the fact that Mr. Salim was in the past among the senior police officers entrusted with implementing the laws and observed procedures, and he occupied important positions in the state apparatus, as an element of maintaining social safety and public security; today - and after leaving the service - he practices the profession of law because he holds an Iraqi law degree which qualifies him for this profession! So the person called "Salim Mahmoud" is there as a holder of a high degree, and a responsible official who was previously entrusted with the most dangerous positions in the police apparatus. From this aspect emerges the importance of the crime - the crime of smuggling Jews - of which he was recently accused, and for which he was immediately detained... And from here we also realize the secret in the deterioration of the state machine and the disturbance of public security, and this frightening laxity that accompanies general conditions in the country for a not-so-short period. Mr. Salim, in this regard, is nothing but a "wonderful" example of many others entrusted with public responsibilities, who neglected, exceeded and manipulated people's destinies as they wished so people's rights were threatened, and citizens were taken by falsehood; and chaos, grumbling, and complaints spread everywhere! And this would not have happened if senior officials were keen on punishing the wrongdoer for his wrongdoing, and rewarding the doer of good for his goodness, and on applying general laws in the spirit of justice and equity! But that was a kind of impossibility in this country burdened with its chronic social diseases, and for this reason egoism dominated, and desires took control; and officials and their cronies and tails grew rampant, "And he who is safe from punishment misbehaves"! The story of Mr. Salim Mahmoud, then, is one of the results brought about by the chronic bad general situation, as well as being a diagnosis of the most wonderful diagnosis of our moral problems, which destroyed the meanings of virtue, sacrifice, and sincerity to sacred duty, and we today; are in a stage of return where we are most in need of a sentimental culture that polishes feelings; and refines souls and develops the national spirit and perceptions. And without this sentimental culture a "high culture" of the type of (Mr. Salim Mahmoud's) culture is of no use: nor is an "official authority" entrusted by the power to people who do not guard honesty, conscience, and sentiment! However, the important thing in the subject itself; is that Mr. Salim and those of his kind; have today become the responsibility in despising positions while they have not been exposed yet!! Oh, I wish I knew how the interests of people are estimated at the hands of these? And how are laws implemented through these?! The problem in its essence is more complex than we imagine and the matter of general reform is extremely dangerous and cannot be carried out by dismissing these; and dispensing with these? And appointing this and that in administrative and responsibility centers! The problem needs a comprehensive and precise study of the general state apparatus; diagnosing the diseases and evils that afflict the state apparatus generally, and then after this, the basic plan is put to reform the state machine in a new light and on a new method . . otherwise how much tonight resembles yesterday!! And how true the famous proverb is: "Its protector is its thief" Details of the incident of smuggling the two Jews by the lawyer Mr. Salim Mahmoud We published in yesterday's issue a brief report about the incident of the lawyer Salim Mahmoud smuggling two Jews to Palestine, and today we publish the details of the incident from its beginning until his arrest and the arrest of the two Jews as told to us by those who witnessed its course and as stated in the investigative papers related to this subject. The story of the lawyer Professor's agreement with the two Jews to smuggle them begins with these two persons visiting him for the purpose of hiring him to complete the transaction of renouncing their citizenship in preparation for their travel to Palestine. He took this visit as a means to bargain with them without resorting to renouncing citizenship, so this agreement was reached between them that they compensate him for his act with an amount of 90 dinars for each one of them, and after receiving the price, he carried them in a private car after dressing them in women's clothes to hide their identity and set off with them towards Khanaqin, and he was able with this trick to pass all police stations without the features of his crime being uncovered because he was camouflaging to those who questioned him that those accompanying him were women from his family. And so he remained safe from the grip of the law until his arrival at the last point of the Khanaqin borders . . and the reader may be surprised when he learns that at the hour of his arrival at this place, one of the known smugglers was waiting for him with a motorcycle, which is a matter that indicates conclusively that the Professor Lawyer (and holder of the high degree!!) heads a smuggling gang and that the smuggling of these two Jews was not the first and the last, as evidenced by the Professor's approach to them regarding the matter of their smuggling at a time when they did not seek him for this purpose. And by the presence of this smuggler with his motorcycle in a specific place agreed upon between the two parties . . and on the borders. As for how the crime was uncovered, our speaker says that at the hour the car carrying the two Jews stopped and beside it the smuggler and the motorcycle, a bus passed by carrying among its passengers an alert policeman who saw in the presence of a private car with (two women) and a known smuggler and a motorcycle at the last point of one of the junctions between Iraq and Iran something that warrants suspicion, so he got off his car and began conducting the investigation with the suspects - including his excellency the lawyer Salim Mahmoud of course - and the result was that the smuggler took off with his motorcycle and behind him the two Jews escaping from the policeman's grip, penetrating Iranian territory; and then there was nothing for this alert policeman but to lead (the owner of the high degree) to the district police station to investigate him as the primary direct perpetrator of the smuggling crime. Since the initial investigation did not support the charge against the Professor with physical evidence The rest on page 4 The rest of the details of the incident The court, he was released on bail, but the determination of the police assistant there, the one named Hamid Al-Saffar, as we were informed although we do not know him, insisted on providing a decisive result for this serious national crime, so he immediately boarded an armed vehicle and set off tracking the bicycle and its riders inside the Iranian borders And there, at a location several kilometers away from the border, he found all of them seeking shade under a tree seeking rest to avoid the ⟦hardship⟧ of their arduous and tiring journey, and immediately without warning ⟦(he loaded them)⟧ into his car, returning with them to the district center, and there was the confession terrible confession that necessitated the arrest of Mr. Salim Mahmoud, as the two Jews confessed that it was he who carried out the smuggling order and that they had compensated him 180 dinars for this great national crime. And we, in the face of this vigilance on the part of the officials in Khanaqin, thank this brave policeman for his national zeal and the assistant for his unique immediate measures and his rare activity, and we also appreciate his Excellency the Investigating Judge there for his firmness in applying the laws with justice and knowledge..
<del>Newspaper</del>: Constitutional Union <del>Issue</del>: 54 <del>Date</del>: Thursday, June 8, 950 Near East Air Transport Company is transporting Jews on a continuous basis The Ministry of Communications and Public Works had submitted a proposal to the Council of Ministers stipulating a request for approval for the Near East Air Transport Company to transport Jews on a continuous basis, and we have learned that the Council of Ministers decided to approve the continuation of the aforementioned company's other trips to transport Jews based on Article Two of the Air Navigation Law and after the Council listened to the explanations of His Excellency the Minister of Communications and Public Works and the letters exchanged in this regard.
The Newspaper - An-Nahar Issue - 92 Date - Thursday, June 8, 1950 Helping Jews Escape High Treason and Greater Shame Some newspapers pointed out the day before yesterday that a man of law smuggled two Jews via Khanaqin after dressing them in women's clothing, claiming they were members of his family, but he was surprised by the discovery of his plot and his arrest .. We are not in the process of discussing the validity of this act or its lack thereof, but we sincerely hope it is not true due to its close connection to the dignity of the profession to which the man belongs and rather for its close connection to the honor of everyone with feeling and pride, but we would like to say our word on any act of this kind regardless of the identity of the person performing it or his profession, for helping Jews escape secretly and by this means, besides being a shameful act indicating meanness and pettiness of soul, it helps destabilize the economic situation in the country because these Jews are naturally not satisfied to submit to inspection and to orders and official instructions regarding the funds they carry or the materials they smuggle with them Therefore, they resort to seeking help from those without conscience among the sons of the country and exploit them for the lowest prices so that they may help them smuggle what they possess of money, gold, and furniture outside Iraq, and if only the matter stopped at the limit of the loss of public wealth for Iraq !! But it exceeds that to become everything the Jews take with them as bullets that return to the chests of Iraqis in particular and Arabs in general And perhaps one of these bullets will return to the chest of the same person who facilitated for them the way of escape or to the chest of one of those related to him, his relatives, acquaintances or his family, this in addition to the stigma of shame that attaches to him, for it is truly a shame that the sons of the country resort to helping our enemies by smuggling them to Israel so they join the ranks of the army to fight us, it is a shame on everyone with conscience and honor that baseness reaches this level of degradation by helping his enemies against his own people .. and what does he think, one wonders, when performing this act Does he think it a simple act that satiates the greed of his soul with a few dirhams? And if this matter is not high treason, then what is the form of treason then? It is the duty of every sincere Arab to fight such a person by fighting him with all the means and ways he can, and indeed it is a duty that he be stoned, for (Abu Righal) is not more hideous in crime than him .. Oh the shame and oh the disgrace of those like these who deserve nothing from us but contempt and disdain and scandal.
