of the final report that the committee will submit to the Physical Council as a result of its study of the school project
of arts and crafts. Based on Mr. Abdullah Oweid's suggestion, it was initially agreed to divide it into six sections,
which are:
1 - Stages of Study 2 - Type of Study 3 - Tools, Equipment and Furniture
4 - Permanent Structural Foundations 5 - Administration and Teachers 6 - Summary
Then, the annual costs of the teaching staff and furniture were discussed, and it was found that the costs of the teaching staff
will be -/4500 dinars as follows:
Director -/1000 dinars
Fitter -/400 dinars
Carpenter -/400 dinars
Electrician -/400 dinars
Sanitary ware -/400 dinars
Lecturers -/1000 dinars
Guard and miscellaneous -/100 dinars
Consumable materials -/120 dinars
Writer -/180 dinars
⟦line⟧
-/4500 dinars
⟦illegible⟧
As for the administration furniture, it was estimated at -/150 dinars, and the estimation of the remaining trips and furniture was left until
the next session.
On this occasion, the committee deemed that the annual teaching staff costs, amounting to -/4500
dinars, along with the costs of equipment and tools, can be spent gradually as the years of study progress, according to the school's
administration, and it is not necessary to spend them all at the beginning.
The session was adjourned, to be held at 6:30 PM on Monday
8/8/1949, to review the final blueprint for the workshops with their costs, which will be prepared by
Mr. Sami Ibrahim Hayyim, and to discuss the report intended to be submitted to the Physical Council in this regard.

Fifteenth Meeting 11 / 7 / 1949
Chaired by Mr. Abdullah Obaidia and attended by the members Mr. Daoud Shlomo and Sami Ibrahim Hayim
and Ezra Fattal and Munshi Quraishi.
After approving the minutes of the previous session, the discussion of the appraisal list for the blacksmithing and casting branch
and the machinery branch, prepared by Mr. Munshi Quraishi and Daoud Shlomo, was resumed. After studying it, it was deemed that the amount
required for the machinery branch is approximately -/ 2100 dinars according to list number (1) attached to this
report. As for the blacksmithing branch, it was deemed that the required amount for it is approximately -/ 250 dinars
according to list number (2) attached. It was also deemed appropriate to estimate the supplies for the casting branch at approximately -/ 350
dinars.
It was also deemed that in addition to these five branches, there is another branch that can be added as a specialized branch,
the agricultural machinery branch, where students train to learn about different agricultural machines
and how to operate and repair them. This branch can be studied if the necessary moral resources are available
and if there is a need for it.
It was also raised that the municipal authorities might not approve the establishment of the industrial school in its current location due to it being in a densely populated area. It was found that in this case, it is possible to:
a - Replace the building and land by selling them and buying another in the outskirts of the capital.
in agreement with the ⟦family⟧
b - Construct three houses near the current annex to the school and rent them out,
and use the current building solely as a school for lectures, or rent it to the community to be used as
a middle or elementary school, and rent another suitable location to be used as an industrial school.
The session was adjourned to be held at 6:30 PM on Monday, 18/7/49,
for the purpose of studying the plans and designs prepared by Mr. Sami Ibrahim Hayim for the factories intended to be established
in the vacant lot of the current industrial school to receive practical lessons there.

After the minutes of the previous session were approved, Mr. Abdullah Awadiya reported that he had studied the subject of the carpentry workshop
and prepared an estimated list of the costs of the supplies for the aforementioned workshop, which amounts to approximately -/ 1800 dinars.
This was following his visit to a carpentry workshop in Baghdad with Mr. Sami Ibrahim Haim, and he also
studied the subject of the sanitary ware and pipes workshop and prepared an estimated list of its supply costs, amounting to approximately
-/ 500 dinars, and due to the absence of Mr. Sami Ibrahim Haim, this topic was postponed for detailed discussion
and the preparation of the final cost list at the next session.
Mr. Ezra Fattal reported that he had prepared an initial list of supplies for the electricity workshop, but he
had not yet estimated its costs and promised to prepare the costs with a detailed list at a future session.

chaired by Professor Abdullah Obadiah and attended by members Mr. Daoud Shlomo
and Sami Ibrahim Hayyim and Ezra Fattal and Menashe Qaz'in.
1 - After approving the minutes of the previous session, a detailed discussion took place
regarding the areas and needs of the factories to be established in the courtyard attached to the building
of the School of Industries. It was initially found that there was a need for five sections in this factory:
First - for Carpentry Second - for Machinery
Third - for Blacksmithing and Casting Fourth - for Sanitary Tools and Pipes
Fifth - for Electricity
with attached divisions such as rooms for teachers and for machines, a laundry room, and a general storage room.
After studying the matter from several angles, it was found more appropriate for Messrs. Abdullah
Obadiah and Sami Ibrahim Hayyim to visit some available factories in Baghdad as a prelude to laying down
the basic lines for the factory intended to be built in the courtyard, provided that Mr.
Sami Ibrahim Hayyim prepares a design in this regard based on this information.
2 - The session was adjourned to be held at five thirty in the
evening of Monday, May 16, 1949, at the headquarters of the community presidency, for the purpose of discussing the design
of the aforementioned factory, its estimated cost, and the cost of the necessary machines and equipment.

in the yard attached to the original school building. After deliberation on the matter, it was decided
to assign Mr. Abdullah Ovadia and Sami Ibrahim Haim to visit the school site in preparation
for preparing the planning and cost of the aforementioned workshops in a future session.
2 - The session was then adjourned to convene at five thirty

Dear Salim Effendi,
None
Enclosed you will find a copy of the theoretical lesson distribution schedule that I had organized for the Craftsmen School, which is intended to be opened. Since the members of the Industry Committee requested me at the last meeting to study this schedule carefully, each individually, I ask you to organize a sufficient number of copies of this schedule and distribute them to the members so that they can study it and express their demands in this regard.
And I thank you,
Sincerely,
Abdullah Ouvadia
