The Personal Status Court at the Baghdad Court of First Instance was formed on 6/12/1943 by Judge Mr.
Mahmoud Aouni and issued the deed: The Endower - Ilya Rahmin Shamoon, his agent Hesqail Yusuf Siti, pursuant to the power of attorney
certified by the British Consulate in New York on 10/6/1942 and certified by the Notary Public of North
Baghdad on 11/19/1942, numbered under general number 4241 and endorsed by the Ministry of Justice on
5/29/1943. Based on the request of Hesqail Yusuf Siti, the agent for the endower Ilya Rahmin Shamoon, he appeared
on 6/11/1943 before me, and after being identified by the identification witnesses, the lawyer Salman Shina
and Shlomo Rubin, a teacher, he stated the following:
That I, in addition to my principal Ilya Rahmin Shamoon, have endowed the six shops numbered 72b, 72c,
72d, 72e, 72f, and 72f/10, numbered sequence 329/2, 329/3, 329/4, 329/5,
329/6, and 329/7, located in the Qanbar Ali neighborhood, with known boundaries according to the Tabu (land registry) records, as a perpetual endowment
for the synagogue located in the Torah neighborhood in Baghdad, known as the Rachel Shamoon Synagogue, built inside
the school bearing the same name, under the following conditions:
First - That my aforementioned principal, Ilya, shall be the administrator (Mutawalli) of the mentioned endowment for the duration of his life, and after him
his male children, the eldest by eldest, then their male children and so on. In the absence of males
among his grandchildren, females shall take their place. If the lineage is severed, the administration shall be given to the head of the Spiritual Council
of the Israelite Community.
Second - That the income arising from the aforementioned shops be allocated first to the payment of property tax and then to
reconstruction expenses and similar costs, and the surplus is to be paid to the fund of the mentioned synagogue. Accordingly, he requested
the issuance of an endowment deed for the mentioned endowment in the manner explained above. Therefore, the endowment has been completed, binding, and ruled upon according to the conditions
set forth above. It has become a valid legal endowment, and what has occurred was issued upon request on 6/12/1943.
Judge
Judge Mr. Burhan al-Din al-Kilani

Salih Murad Shukur, residing in the Al-Bu Juma'a quarter of Karrada al-Sharqiya, appeared before the court with his petition dated
12 March 1930, stating that the vacant plot located in the Al-Bu Juma'a quarter, newly numbered 50/00 and formerly
343, with sequence number 553, belonging to him under the permanent land registry deed dated December 1928 and numbered
15, Volume 87, he wishes to convert into a Torah, i.e., a place of prayer for the Jewish community, as an endowment, provided that
the trusteeship remains in his hands as long as he is alive, and after his death, the trusteeship passes to his descendants, generation after generation,
descendant after descendant, and if his lineage goes extinct, the trusteeship passes to the descendants of his brothers, generation after generation, and if
they go extinct, the trusteeship passes to the descendants of his relatives who are connected to him, and if everyone goes extinct, the trusteeship passes
to the Chief Rabbi and whomever he selects from among the clergy who are the most capable and pious of them, and he requests the registration of this
endowment and to be granted a decree to that effect. So the aforementioned Salih Murad Shukur appeared, and after his identification by the two witnesses, Eliyahu
son of Heskel Sogeir, a haberdasher, and the lawyer Shimon Effendi Heskel, he repeated the contents of his petition and added
saying that the plot located in the Al-Bu Juma'a quarter in Karrada al-Sharqiya, formerly numbered 343 and newly 50/00,
sequence 553, is his property and under his disposal according to the Khaqani deed dated 18 December ⟦...⟧
and folder number 553, which states that the plot located in the Al-Bu Juma'a quarter in Karrada al-Sharqiya belongs
to Salih Murad Shukur, an Iraqi national. He intends to remove the aforementioned plot from his ownership and make it a temple for the
Mosaic community (i.e., Torah), and the trusteeship of the aforementioned Torah shall be in his hands ⟦...⟧ as long as he is alive, and after
his death, the trusteeship passes to his male descendants, excluding females, and if his lineage goes extinct, it passes to the descendants of his brothers, generation
after generation, and after them, the trusteeship shall be for the descendants of his relatives, generation after generation, and if they all go extinct, it passes
to the Chief Rabbi of the Mosaic community in Baghdad. Upon the court's inquiry, a response was received from
the Land Registry Department dated 2/4/1930, numbered 1435, stating that the plot located in the Al-Bu Juma'a quarter
in Karrada al-Sharqiya, numbered with the old door number 343 and sequence 553, is registered in the name of Salih Murad
Shukur, and that it ⟦...⟧ is neither mortgaged nor seized. Accordingly, the aforementioned requested a judgment on the validity of the endowment ⟦...⟧
Based on the above, a judgment was issued for the validity of the endowment in its general and specific terms, and the necessity of its implementation in the manner mentioned, and to deposit
a copy of this decree to the Baghdad Land Registry Department to act accordingly, and what occurred was written upon request.
Written on 3 April 1930.
