2 — <del>⟦illegible⟧</del> The revenues relied upon are from sewing, and for this reason, the Society has taken

Subject: Regarding lesson times
His Excellency the President of the Lay Council, the Respected
After greetings: I draw your Excellency's attention specifically to decide on an important issue
which I outline as follows:
The secondary section of our school teaches six lessons a day, four of them in the morning and two
in the afternoon, and the primary section teaches four lessons in the morning and three in the afternoon. Based
on this, the school administration has considered making secondary teaching in the morning only for the following
reasons:
First: Lessons in the afternoon generally have less value than morning lessons.
Second: Most of the students' lessons must be prepared at home.
Third: The current arrangement occupies the students' time in the afternoon and they cannot benefit
from this opportunity.
Fourth: It is not possible to benefit from the seventh lesson in the primary classes due to the disturbance caused
by the secondary students leaving their classes and going home.
Fifth: All secondary schools in the world and in Iraq have made secondary student teaching
in the morning only. And they allocated afternoon times for reading, games, or for the
students to ⟦study⟧ from it in a special way.
Based on ⟦this⟧, I hope your esteemed council will decide on this matter in the first
session it holds so that I can arrange the curriculum according to the new situation.
Please accept my utmost thanks and great respect.
D. A. Kallay
School Principal
My Lord Vice President. The principal is very correct in this proposal and I know that secondary schools in Iraq apply it, but at the same time they benefit from
afternoon times to carry out all extracurricular activities such as reading, games, drawing, etc., and this is what the principal mentioned in item five
