This contract was entered into between Mr. Eliyahu Hayyim Tawfiq, President of the Israeli Spiritual Council
in Baghdad, in his official capacity, hereinafter referred to as the Lessor, and Mr. Alwan Abid, hereinafter referred to
as the Lessee, according to the following:
First - The Lessor has leased to the Lessee, and the latter has leased from the Lessor after viewing and inspection, the cafe
located in the Israeli slaughterhouse in the Farah Allah quarter, numbered 16/242, for a full year starting from
the first day of April 1949 until the end of March 31, 1950, for an annual rent of fifty
dinars ⟦line⟧.
Second - The Lessor has received from the Lessee an amount of -/35 dinars (thirty-five dinars) in cash,
and the balance of -/15 dinars (fifteen dinars) shall be paid according to a promissory note for a period of four months from
the beginning of the lease term.
Third - The Lessee has the right to occupy the leased premises as a cafe for the duration of the lease, which is one full year. At the end of the lease term,
the Lessee is obligated to vacate the leased premises and hand them over to the Lessor vacant of occupants. If he delays in
doing so, he shall be obligated to pay for the period of delay a daily rent of two hundred and fifty fils
without the need for an official notice.
Fourth - The property tax is on the Lessor (the owner of the cafe), while the guarding fees are on the Lessee, and he is obligated
to pay them regularly. Furthermore, the Lessee is not obligated to pay the water and electricity fees.
This agreement was written in original and copy; the Lessee kept the original and the Lessor kept the copy.

Third - The Lessee has the right of residence in the leased property for the duration of the lease, which is one full year, and at the end of the lease term
the Lessee is obliged to vacate the leased property and hand it over to the Lessor vacant, and if he is late in
doing so, he shall be obliged to pay for the period of delay a daily rent of two hundred and fifty fils
without the need for a formal notice.

Testing.—At least 48 hours' notice in writing must be given to the Company's Engineer that an installation is ready for testing. Before a test is made all work must be completed, no temporary wires or fittings being allowed. The contractor must see that all lamps and fuses are inserted and all switches turned on.
Testing — The company's engineer must be notified in writing at least 48 hours in advance of the readiness to inspect one of the installations.
The work must be completed in its entirety before testing, and temporary wires or fittings are not permitted.
The contractor must ensure that all lamps and fuses are installed and that all switches are open.
No charge will be made for the first inspection and test, but if more than one test is found necessary, a fee of 380 fils payable in advance, will be made for each subsequent inspection and test.
No fee is collected for the first inspection; however, if it becomes necessary to conduct more than one inspection, a fee of 380 fils shall be paid in advance for each inspection following the first one.
No installation will be connected where the insulation resistance between the whole of the wiring and fittings and earth is less than 25 megohms divided by the number of points on those circuits, except that the insulation resistance of any final lighting sub circuit need not exceed one megohm.
Electricity will not be supplied to any installations if the insulation resistance between the wires and all tools and the ground is less than 25 (megohms) divided by the number of points of these circuits, unless the insulation resistances of the lamps installed on a sub-circuit do not require more than one megohm.
Caution.—Failure to give notice of any additions or alterations to the installation may damage the Company's apparatus for which the consumer will be held responsible, and it may also render it necessary for the Company to cut off the supply without notice.
Warning — Failure to notify the company of additions and alterations to the installations may result in damage to the company's equipment, and the consumer will be responsible for that, and the company may be forced to cut off the flow to them without notice.
Please inform us when the work is completed and ready for inspection.
