His Excellency the President of the Administrative Committee of the Jewish Community, the respected
After greetings,
What is presented to your Excellency: upon my inspection of some previously leased synagogues, I found that the Torah ⟦house⟧
of Saudi Eliyahu Ruween is occupied by other people, and it had been leased from the tenant Muhammad Jawad al-Basri
for an amount of ninety Dinars annually, and Muhammad Jawad had leased it from the Jewish Community for an amount of
36 Dinars annually, and the aforementioned person is required to pay a promissory note whose legal term has expired
And now this Torah ⟦is estimated⟧ at an annual rental value of one hundred and fifty Dinars annually
So we request your guidance on the action that must be taken ⟦against him⟧

Upon reviewing the case regarding Mr. Shaul Lawi, there is no

God
His Excellency, the Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Israelite Community, Respected
The failure to pay the Kisala on its due date does not entitle the owner to evict the tenant from the leased property
because the Kisala fee is considered a personal debt, and therefore an eviction lawsuit cannot be filed based on
the failure to pay the aforementioned Kisala fee. Since the first tenant, according to
the lease contract, was not authorized to use the leased property for residential purposes, otherwise,
at the end of the lease term, a lawsuit would be filed against the second tenant
for eviction. This is for your consideration. 21 / 9 / 954

His Excellency the Chairman of the Administrative Committee, Respected
Regarding the rent entitlement for the shop operated
by Mr. Salman ⟦Qubbi⟧, the aforementioned person has indeed
come to pay the rent amount of 80/- Dinars, but we
did not accept it and requested him to increase it to 100/- Dinars, and he
did not agree, so we referred the case to the lawyer to see if he could
request the evacuation of the mentioned shop. Now, he has agreed
to pay the one hundred Dinars requested by us, and accordingly
I consulted the lawyer on the matter, and he suggested that we settle
amicably and receive the increase requested by us, and the
⟦customer⟧ has agreed to pay the increase, so we request your order to hand over the contract.

Baghdad on July 9, year 54
To the Honorable and Eminent Administrator of the Endowments of Mir Elias Hospital, the Administrative Committee
After offering respects.
Number: 129
Date: 11/7/1954
I submit
I am the tenant of the endowment shop numbered 9/170 located on Al-Nahr Street for a period of five years
As for the current year which begins on April 5, 1954, and ends on April 5,
1955, for the amount of (eighty-six Dinars) 86 Dinars, and I had paid
on April 5, 1954, an amount of (fifty Dinars) 50 Dinars in cash, and the remaining balance
amounting to (thirty-six Dinars) 36 Dinars, I gave for it two promissory notes to your order, each for an amount of
(eighteen Dinars) 18 Dinars, the first due on 5/6/954 and the second on 5/8/1954
And when the time came to present the first one for payment, as I was away traveling abroad ⟦and missing⟧
⟦It was referred⟧ to a third person, and upon checking and inquiring about its fate, I was informed that it
is still in your respected department, but with much regret regarding the intention to return to pay it, I see a lack of
approval, and this is not permissible for him because I did not violate the conditions, and now I am ready to pay the trust
amounting to (thirty-six Dinars) 36 Dinars. I request permission to receive it and from it
And to your Eminence, much respect.

the last installment of six dinars remained due from me. When I presented it to you, the
employees of your council refused to receive it under the pretext that the promissory note
