To the Presidency of the Israelite Community
Baghdad
After greetings
I, the undersigned, Masouda Haroun Qattan, disabled and approximately
seventy years old, residing in Baghdad, hereby acknowledge and confess that I am in dire need of financial
assistance from my sons residing in France, one of whom is Robert Abboudi residing in Marseille and Sasson Abboudi
residing in Toulon. For information, please note that my aforementioned sons have ceased their financial
assistance to me since the beginning of the last war and until now they have not been able to provide any financial aid
due to the difficulties placed regarding the transfer of money from France to Iraq, regardless of the desire
of my aforementioned sons to provide assistance and their firm desire to help me, especially knowing my
dire need for this assistance, particularly after I became bedridden two years ago due to a fall
and my constant need for medical care and the necessity of caring for my livelihood and my home and providing for my needs. In view
of all the aforementioned information and my condition which necessitates the essential assistance that I estimate at about 25 Dinars
monthly, I request your esteemed office to provide me with a document showing my need for my sons' assistance in view
of the circumstances and complications surrounding me which make this assistance an extreme necessity, to be submitted
to the competent authorities in France to facilitate the transfer of money by my sons to me.
Please have the requested document addressed as follows: "To Whom It May Concern" in view
of my lack of knowledge of the competent authorities.
Please accept my utmost thanks and respect.
