Judah said, a Maskil of Asaph: Give ear, O my people, to my teaching; incline
your ears to the words of my mouth. I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter riddles from of old,
which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not hide them
from their children, telling to the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His strength, and His wondrous works
that He has done. For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which
He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them,
even the children who should be born; who should arise and tell them to their children, that they might set their hope in God,
and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments; and might not be as their fathers,
a stubborn and rebellious generation; a generation that set not their heart aright, and whose spirit was not steadfast with God.
The children of Ephraim, being armed and carrying bows, turned back in the day of battle. They kept not
the covenant of God, and refused to walk in His law; and they forgot His doings, and His wondrous works
that He had shown them. Marvelous things did He in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
He cleaved the sea, and caused them to pass through; and He made the waters to stand as a heap. In the daytime also He led them with a cloud,
and all the night with a light of fire. He cleaved rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great
depths. He brought streams also out of the rock, and caused waters to run down like rivers. Yet they went on still
to sin against Him, to rebel against the Most High in the desert. And they tried God in their heart by asking
food for their craving. Yea, they spoke against God; they said: 'Can God prepare a table
in the wilderness? Behold, He smote the rock, that waters gushed out, and streams overflowed; can He give
bread also? Or can He provide flesh for His people?' Therefore the Lord heard,
and was wroth; and a fire was kindled against Jacob, and anger also went up against Israel; because
they believed not in God, and trusted not in His salvation. Yet He commanded the skies
above, and opened the doors of heaven; and He rained down manna upon them to eat, and corn
of heaven He gave unto them. Man did eat the bread of the mighty; He sent them provisions to the full.
P' And the children journeyed
He caused the east wind to blow in the heaven; and by His power He guided the south wind. He rained flesh also upon them as the dust,
and winged fowl as the sand of the seas; and He let it fall in the midst of their camp, round about
their dwellings. So they did eat, and were well filled; and He gave them their own desire. They
were not estranged from their craving, their food was yet in their mouths, when the anger of God went up against them,
and slew of the lustiest among them, and smote down the chosen men of Israel. For all this they sinned
still, and believed not in His wondrous works. Therefore their days did He consume in vanity, and their years
in terror. When He slew them, then they would inquire after Him, and turn back and seek God earnestly. And they remembered
that God was their rock, and the Most High God their redeemer. But they beguiled Him with their mouth, and with their tongue
they lied unto Him. For their heart was not steadfast with Him, neither were they faithful in His covenant. But He,
being full of compassion, forgiveth iniquity, and destroyeth not; yea, many a time He turneth His anger away, and
doth not stir up all His wrath. And He remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passeth away, and
cometh not again. How oft did they rebel against Him in the wilderness, and grieve Him in the desert! And they turned back
and tried God, and set bounds to the Holy One of Israel. They remembered not His hand, nor the day
when He redeemed them from the adversary. How He set His signs in Egypt, and His wonders
in the field of Zoan; and turned their rivers into blood, and their streams, that they could not drink.
He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them; and frogs, which destroyed them. He gave
also their increase unto the caterpillar, and their labor unto the locust. He destroyed their vines with hail,
and their sycamore-trees with frost. He gave over their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks
to fiery bolts. He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble,
a sending of messengers of evil. He leveled a path for His anger; He spared not
their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence; and smote all the first-born in Egypt,
the first-fruits of their strength in the tents of Ham. But He led forth His own people like sheep, and guided them
in the wilderness like a flock. And He led them safely, and they feared not; but the sea
overwhelmed their enemies. And He brought them to the border of His sanctuary, even to this mountain, which His right hand had gotten.
P' And He drove out before
He drove out the nations also before them, and allotted them for an inheritance by line, and made the tribes
of Israel to dwell in their tents. Yet they tried and rebelled against the Most High God, and His testimonies
they kept not; but turned back, and dealt treacherously like their fathers; they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
For they provoked Him to anger with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images. God heard,
and was wroth, and greatly abhorred Israel; so that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent
where He had dwelt among men; and delivered His strength into captivity, and His glory into the adversary's hand.

If the newborn is born during the day, that newborn will be happy
and beloved by people, and everything that is in his heart
of good and evil will be on his mouth; he said such and did
such, for he will be truthful in his speech and his action. And if it is

And if you want to know ⟦the religion/nature⟧ (what it is) male or female
and likewise to know if she is pregnant with a male or female, then take
some of the woman's urine in a new earthenware bowl and cast into that
urine a handful of wheat and leave it for three days.
If the wheat sprouts, then she is pregnant with a male, and if
the wheat does not sprout, then she is pregnant with a female, and if it does not sprout
within three days, then she is not pregnant; this is tested and correct.
And if you want to know if the woman is pregnant or not,
take some of her urine in a bowl and pour over it a little
crushed kohl; if the kohl sinks to the bottom of the bowl,
then she is pregnant, and if the kohl remains ⟦floating⟧ on the surface of the
urine, then she is not pregnant; and this is tested and very correct.
On the science of boils:
If a person has a boil in any place whatsoever, then take
the henna known in the land and grind it finely,
knead it with onion water and apply it as a poultice over the boil,
for it will burst it at that time and it will heal by the permission of God
Exalted; and this is tested and very correct. Apply the poultice at night
and remove it in the morning and wash it with hot water and apply
another one on the second night until it heals by the permission of God Exalted.
Likewise for the gas that is in the stomach: you take
some black cumin and grind it finely and knead it with
onion water and apply it as a poultice over the stomach and leave it from
night until morning, for it will heal by the permission of God Exalted.
If the pain is in the back, then take the crushed
henna and knead it with onion water and apply it as a poultice over the back,
for it will heal by the permission of God Exalted; and this is tested and correct.
And if the pain is in the legs, then do the same for them -
On the medicine for boils:
Take the crushed henna and knead it with onion water
and apply it as a poultice over the boil, for it will burst it at that time.
If the boil is in the eye, then take the crushed
henna and knead it with onion water and apply it as a poultice over the eye,
for it will heal by the permission of God Exalted; and this is tested and correct.
And if the pain is in the ear, then do the same for it -

And he said to him, What is your name? And he said, Jacob. And he said, Your name shall no longer be
called Jacob, but Israel: for you have striven with God and with
men, and have prevailed. And Jacob asked him, and said, Tell me, I pray you, your name.
And he said, Why is it that you ask after my name? And he blessed him there. And Jacob called
the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face,
and my life is preserved. And the sun rose upon him as he passed over Penuel, and he
<del>was limping upon his thigh</del> was limping upon his thigh. Therefore the children of
Israel eat not of the sinew of the hip, which is upon the hollow of the thigh, unto this day:
because he touched the hollow of Jacob's thigh in the sinew of the hip. And Jacob lifted up
his eyes, and looked, and, behold, Esau came, and with him four hundred men.
And he divided the children unto Leah, and unto Rachel, and unto the two handmaids.
And he put the handmaids and their children foremost, and Leah
and her children after, and Rachel and Joseph hindermost. And he passed
before them, and bowed himself to the ground seven times, until he came near to his brother.
And Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck, and kissed him:
and they wept. And he lifted up his eyes, and saw the women and the children;
and said, Who are those with you? And he said, The children whom God has graciously given
your servant. Then the handmaids came near, they and their children, and they bowed themselves.
And Leah also with her children came near, and bowed themselves: and after came Joseph near and Rachel,
and they bowed themselves. And he said, What do you mean by all this company which I met?
And he said, These are to find grace in the sight of my lord. And Esau said, I have enough, my brother;
keep that you have unto yourself. And Jacob said, Nay, I pray you, if now I have found grace
in your sight, then receive my present at my hand: for therefore I have seen your face,
as though I had seen the face of God, and you were pleased with me. Take, I pray you, my blessing that
is brought to you; because God has dealt graciously with me, and because I have enough. And he urged him,
and he took it. And he said, Let us take our journey, and let us go, and I will go before you.
And he said unto him, My lord knows that the children are tender, and the flocks and herds
with young are with me: and if men should overdrive them one day, all the flock will die. Let
my lord, I pray you, pass over before his servant: and I will lead on softly, according to the pace of the cattle
that goes before me and the pace of the children, until I come unto my lord unto Seir.
And Esau said, Let me now leave with you some of the folk that are with me. And he said,
What need is there? let me find grace in the sight of my lord. So Esau returned that day
on his way unto Seir. And Jacob journeyed to Succoth, and built him a house, and for his cattle
he made booths: therefore the name of the place is called Succoth. And Jacob came
safely to the city of Shechem, which is in the land of Canaan, when he came from Padan-aram;
and pitched his tent before the city. And he bought a parcel of a field, where he had spread
his tent, at the hand of the children of Hamor, Shechem's father, for a hundred pieces of money.
And he erected there an altar, and called it El-elohe-Israel.
And Dinah the daughter of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of
the land. And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her,
he took her, and lay with her, and humbled her. And his soul cleaved unto Dinah
the daughter of Jacob, and he loved the damsel, and spoke kindly unto the damsel.

Behold, regarding your question about what the Rabbi Chida, of blessed memory, wrote
in his book Devash Lefi (System A), and these are his words: And the Rabbi
Beit Yaakov wrote in his sermons on page 106, side A, and these are his words:
And behold, I heard in the name of a certain sage that there is a hint
regarding the matter of the atonement of Yom Kippur, which has no
eating or drinking. And it is that 'Adam' (Man) in Gematria is 45
in the filling of Alephs, and behold, when a man sins, he blemishes
the filling of the Alephs of Adam, and Adam becomes without Alephs,
which in Gematria is 'Dam' (Blood, 44), and this is 'and the blood of grapes you shall drink as wine,'
a hint that when man sinned and became blood, he needs
to drink wine and fermented drink so that he may have atonement
for his sin, and this is from the language of 'and I fermented and I purified' -
I also said to respond with this a fine hint, for Yom Kippur
is the 9th of Tishrei, and on that day we eat and drink,
and we hold that anyone who eats and drinks on the ninth, it is as if he fasted.
Also 'Tishrei' (the ninth) in Gematria is 662, and also 'eating and drinking'
in Gematria is 662, and this is a fine hint to return to the heart
so that we may have complete atonement, Amen Selah -
And there is more to respond with this, a fine and sweet hint -
In the book Avodat HaKodesh, Parashat Vayikra, he wrote that
Adam sinned through eating and drinking, and therefore he needs
atonement for eating and drinking ⟦on⟧ Yom Kippur.
And the Rabbi, of blessed memory, said that 'Adam' in Gematria is 45,
and behold, the 9th of Tishrei is a day of eating and drinking,
also 'eating and drinking' in Gematria is 662,
and with 'Adam' it is 707 in Gematria, and this is a hint
that man needs to eat and drink on the
ninth day so that he may have complete atonement
for his sin that he sinned through eating and drinking, and this is
'For on this day He shall atone for you to purify you
from all your sins before the Lord you shall be purified,' and this is
for on this day is Yom Kippur, and on it,
on that very day we fast, and on that very day we
pray before the Lord, may His name and memory be blessed -
And I also said to respond with this a fine hint -
for on this day is Yom Kippur, and on it
we fast, and on that very day we pray
before the Lord, may His name and memory be blessed, Amen Selah -

With the help of Heaven
On the first day, on the fifteenth day of the month of Tishrei, the year five thousand
five hundred and eighteen from the creation of the world, according to the count we use
here in Baghdad, the city situated on the Tigris River, how the dear and pleasant
young man, Mr. Isaac, may his Rock and Redeemer protect him, son of the late Mr. Abraham, may his rest be Eden, said
to this virgin, Sarah, may she be blessed among women, daughter of the late Mr. Abraham,
may his rest be Eden: Be my wife according to the law of Moses and Israel, and I will work, honor,
sustain, and support you according to the custom of Jewish men who work,
honor, sustain, and support their wives in truth. And I give you
the dowry of your virginity, two hundred silver zuz, which is due to you by Torah law, and your food,
your clothing, and your necessities, and to live with you in the manner of all the earth. And Mrs.
Sarah consented and became his wife. And this is the dowry she brought to him from her father's house,
whether in gold, silver, jewelry, clothing, or household
utensils; all of this Mr. Isaac, our groom, accepted for one hundred and fifty
refined silver zuz. And Mr. Isaac, our groom, desired and added from his own
to the core of her marriage contract one hundred and fifty refined silver zuz. Thus the total
of her marriage contract, her dowry, and the addition is one hundred and fifty refined silver zuz,
besides the two hundred zuz due to her from the start. And the responsibility for this marriage contract
and this addition, I take upon myself and my heirs after me, to be paid from all
the best of my property and possessions under all the heavens that I have acquired
and that I shall acquire in the future, property that has security and that which has no
security; all of them shall be responsible and serve as a guarantee to pay from them this marriage contract
and this addition, even from the cloak on my shoulders, in life
and in death, from this day and forever. And the responsibility and the weight of this marriage contract
and this addition, Mr. Isaac, our groom, accepted upon himself like the weight
of all marriage contracts and additions customary for the daughters of Israel, made
according to the enactment of our Sages, of blessed memory, not as a mere promise and not as a form-letter. And we have performed the act of acquisition from
Mr. Isaac, our groom, for this Mrs. Sarah, regarding all that is written and specified
above, with a vessel fit to perform an acquisition. And everything is valid, clear, and established.

And he said, I heard that which Samuel said: bread that comes
as pocket-bread, one blesses over them 'Who creates various kinds of sustenance' etc. and it is
explained in the Gemara in two versions, and our Rabbi of blessed memory ruled
according to both of them etc. and in another place in the chapter 'Kol Sha'ah' he wrote
that he ruled according to the latter version -
However, it seems that nowadays the world follows the first version
regarding bread that comes as pocket-bread, which is bread made like a kind of
pocket etc. and all this only applies to bread that comes
as pocket-bread, but for actual bread, even if one eats a little of it,
one blesses over it 'Who brings forth' and three blessings -
However, regarding small rolls called pastides,
our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote that one blesses over them 'Who creates various kinds of sustenance',
and if he established his meal upon them, he blesses 'Who brings forth' and three
blessings etc. and our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote that the measure of establishing
a meal is the amount a person eats in the morning and in the evening,
and our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote that this is the measure of three eggs.
However, regarding rolls called nieblas etc. since
they are only eaten for dessert of a meal, one blesses over them
'Who creates various kinds of sustenance' even if he ate a lot of them,
and he does not bless over them 'Who brings forth' and three blessings etc.
And there is one who says that in any such case one does not bless -
except 'Who creates various kinds of sustenance'.
However, it seems that whenever he did not establish his meal
upon them, he blesses 'Who creates various kinds of sustenance' etc. and so it seems -
from what our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote in the chapter 'Kol Sha'ah' that which Samuel
said: bread that comes as pocket-bread, one blesses over them 'Who creates
various kinds of sustenance' etc. and our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote that this is specifically -
when he did not establish his meal upon them, but if he established
his meal upon them, he blesses 'Who brings forth' and three blessings.
And our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote that which Rav Nachman said: bread that comes
as pocket-bread, one blesses over them 'Who creates various kinds of sustenance' etc.
this is specifically for bread that comes as pocket-bread, but for actual
bread, even if one eats a little of it, one blesses over it 'Who brings forth'
and three blessings etc.
And our Rabbi of blessed memory wrote in the chapter 'Kol Sha'ah' that which Samuel said:

To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. And to Him is [all] praise in
the Hereafter. And He is the Wise, the Acquainted. He knows what penetrates into
the earth and what emerges from it and what descends from the heaven and what ascends
therein. And He is the Merciful, the Forgiving. And those who disbelieve say, "The Hour will not come to us."
Say, "Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [He is] the Knower of the unseen." Not
absent from Him is an atom's weight within the heavens or within the earth or
smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register - That He may reward those
who believe and do righteous deeds. Those will have forgiveness and noble provision.
But those who strive against Our verses [seeking] to cause failure - those will have a punishment
of painful suffering. And those who
have been given knowledge see that what is revealed to you from your Lord is the truth, and it guides
to the path of the Exalted in Might, the Praiseworthy. But those who disbelieve say, "Shall we direct you to
a man who informs you that when you have been disintegrated in total disintegration, you will [then] be [raised] in a new creation?"
Has he invented about Allah a lie or is there in him madness? Rather, those who do not believe
in the Hereafter are in punishment and extreme error. Have they not looked at
what is before them and what is behind them of the heaven and the earth? If We should will,
We could cause the earth to swallow them or let fall upon them fragments from the sky. Indeed
in that is a sign for every servant who turns [to Allah]. And We certainly gave David from Us
bounty. [We said], "O mountains, repeat [Our] praises with him, and the birds [as well]." And We made pliable for him iron:
"Make full coats of mail and calculate [precisely] the links, and work [all of you] righteousness. Indeed I, of what
you do, am Seeing." And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind - its morning [journey was that of] a month - and its afternoon
a month, and We made flow for him a spring of [molten] copper. And among the jinn were those who worked for him
by the permission of his Lord. And whoever of them deviated from Our command - We made him taste of the punishment of the Blaze.
They made for him what he willed of elevated chambers, statues, bowls like reservoirs,
and stationary kettles. [We said], "Work, O family of David, in gratitude." And few of My servants
are grateful. And when We decreed for him death, nothing indicated his death to them
except a creature of the earth eating his staff. But when he fell, it became clear
to the jinn that if they had known the unseen, they would not have remained in humiliating punishment.
There was for [the tribe of] Saba' in their dwelling place a sign: two [fields of] gardens on the
right and on the left. [They were told], "Eat from the provisions of your Lord and be grateful to Him. A good land
and a Forgiving Lord." But they turned away [in refusal], so We sent upon them the flood of the dam, and We replaced
their two gardens with gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisks, and something of sparse lote trees.
[By] that We repaid them because they disbelieved. And do We [thus] repay except
the ungrateful? And We placed between them and the cities which We had blessed
visible cities, and We determined between them the [distances of] journey, [saying], "Travel between them by night and day
in safety." But [after some time] they said, "Our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys," and wronged themselves,
so We made them narrations and dispersed them in total dispersion. Indeed in that
are signs for everyone patient and grateful. And Iblees had already confirmed through them his assumption,
so they followed him, except for a party of believers. And he had over them
no authority except [it was ordained] that We might make evident who believes in the Hereafter from who is thereof
in doubt. And your Lord, over all things, is Guardian. Say, [O Muhammad], "Invoke those you state [as gods]
besides Allah." They do not possess an atom's weight in the heavens
or on the earth, and they do not have therein any partnership [with Him], nor is there for Him from among them
any assistant. And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits.
[And those wait] until, when fear is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], "What has your Lord said?" They will say,
"The truth." And He is the Most High, the Grand. Say, "Who provides for you from the heavens
and the earth?" Say, "Allah. And indeed, we or you are either upon guidance or in clear
error." Say, "You will not be asked about what we committed, and we will not be asked about what
you do." Say, "Our Lord will bring us together; then He will judge between us in truth. And He is
the Knowing Judge." Say, "Show me those whom you have attached to Him as partners. No!
Rather, He is Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise." And We have not sent you except comprehensively
to mankind as a bringer of good tidings and a warner. But most of the people do not know. And
they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?" Say, "For you is the appointment of
a Day [from which] you will not remain behind an hour, nor can you precede [it]." And [those who disbelieve] said,

For they shall come in the name
This matter is a concern of prophecy which is only through the unification of the names
of the Holy One, blessed be He. And if a prophet tells you to worship
idolatry, even if he turns the heavens over for it, do not listen
to him. But if he says to worship the Lord, may He be blessed, through the unification of names
such that he does not say the Explicit Name, but rather says Blessed
is He and Blessed is His Name, this is a prophecy of truth.
And if he says the Explicit Name, this is a prophecy of falsehood,
because no person is permitted to mention the Explicit Name
except for the High Priest on the Day of Atonement in the Holy Temple.
And if he says the Explicit Name, he is liable for death
at the hands of Heaven. And this is what the scripture says: "And that prophet
who shall speak in the name of other gods, that prophet shall die."
And if he says in My name that which I have not commanded him to speak,
meaning in the Explicit Name, that prophet shall die. And this is
the explanation of the verse: "And if you say in your heart, how shall we know
the word which the Lord has not spoken? When a prophet speaks
in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing
which the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid
of him." The explanation: if he speaks in the Explicit Name of the Lord,
<del>⟦illegible⟧</del> and the thing does not happen or come to pass, that is the thing
which the Lord has not spoken. The explanation: since he spoke in the Explicit Name,
it is known that he is not a true prophet, and even if the thing comes to pass
that he said, do not believe him, since he transgressed the words of the Torah,
as it is said: "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain."
We have already said that no person is permitted to mention the Name
Explicitly except for the High Priest on the Day of Atonement in the House
of the Sanctuary. And if the prophet speaks in the Explicit Name of the Lord,
it is known that he is not a true prophet since he transgressed the words of
the Torah. But if he speaks in the name of the Lord and does not mention the Name
Explicitly, but rather says Blessed is He and Blessed is His Name,
this is a true prophet. And if the thing he said comes to pass,
you shall know that the Lord has spoken. But if the thing he said does not come to pass,
it is known that he is not a true prophet. And this is what the scripture says:
"When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen
or come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord has not spoken; presumptuously
the prophet has spoken it, you shall not be afraid of him." The explanation: do not fear
him to put him to death, since he spoke in the name of the Lord and the thing
he said did not come, it is known that he is not a true prophet.
And this is what the scripture says: "And if you say in your heart, how shall we know
the word which the Lord has not spoken?" The explanation: since
he spoke in the name of the Lord and the thing he said did not come,
it is known that he is not a true prophet. And this is what the scripture says:
"When a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, and the thing does not happen"

And you
And it is written: "And so shall you do with every lost thing of your brother's, which he has lost,
and you have found; you may not hide yourself." And our Sages of blessed memory said that a person is not
permitted to abandon his own property in a place where it will lead to loss.

am I, says the Lord, to save you; for I will make a full end of all the nations
where I have scattered you, but of you I will not make a full end; but I will chasten you
in measure, and will not leave you altogether unpunished." And our Sages of blessed memory said that the Holy One,
blessed be He, does not bring punishment to the world except for the sake of Israel,
so that they may fear and return in repentance. And our Sages of blessed memory said that
the Holy One, blessed be He, does not bring punishment to the world except

In the book Midbar Yitzchak, Parashat Vayechi, on the verse 'And the days
of Israel drew near,' etc. Rabbi Shimon said: Why is it not said
here 'And he lived,' but rather 'And they drew near'? Because the life of a righteous person
is not considered life except in the World to Come, and this is 'And Jacob lived
in the land of Egypt' specifically, etc. Parashat Vayechi, etc. And it is written
in the book Chesed L'Avraham on the verse 'And the days of

death, whereas the death of the wicked is two deaths,
one in this world and one in the World to Come, and this is
what is written 'And the days of Israel drew near to die,' for it is
one death, etc. And it is written in the book Ma'avar Yabbok
in the seventh chapter, that the righteous person at the time of his passing
sees the face of the Shekhinah, and this is 'And he called his son Joseph,'
for Joseph is the aspect of Yesod, etc. And it is written

Ma'avar Yabbok in the seventh chapter, that the righteous person at the time of
his passing is joyful, and this is 'And Israel bowed upon'
In Midrash Rabbah they said regarding the verse 'And Jacob lived,'
why is this portion closed off from all the portions
in the Torah? Rather, once Jacob our forefather passed away,
the eyes and hearts of Israel were closed from the distress of
the enslavement, etc. And it is written in the book Ma'avar Yabbok
in the seventh chapter, that the righteous person at the time of his passing
is joyful, and this is 'And Israel bowed upon the head of
the bed,' for he saw the Shekhinah, etc. And it is written in the book

the temple of the Lord are these.' For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings,
if you thoroughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbor, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow you do not oppress,
and innocent blood you do not shed in this place, and after other gods you do not walk to your harm,
then I will cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from world to world.
Behold, you trust in lying words that cannot profit. Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery,
and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you have not known,
and come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, 'We are delivered,'
in order to do all these abominations? Has this house become a den of thieves?

May it not happen to us
In the Great Bazaar
May the Lord in His name favor us and send to Elijah the Prophet, remembered
for good, the news of salvation and bring the Redeemer near
through them, and may You visit them with goodness and may You pay
them their good reward and bless them with the blessing of peace in their home...
and in all their deeds, and bless them with peace, and may His glorious name be
forever, and may all the nations of the earth be blessed in Him, Amen and Amen Selah
And may You pay their good reward and bless them with the blessing of peace in their home
and in all their deeds at every time and moment, handwriting of Moshe Meshullam
Mizrahi at every time and moment. And the Lord was with Joseph, and he was a
prosperous man <del>⟦illegible⟧</del> and he was in the house of his master the Egyptian. And his master saw
that the Lord was with him, and that the Lord made all that he did to prosper in his hand.
And Joseph found favor in his sight, and he served him: and he made him overseer over his house,
and all that he had he put into his hand. And it came to pass from the time that he had made him overseer in his house,
and over all that he had, that the Lord blessed the Egyptian's house
for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the Lord was upon all that he had in the house,
and in the field. And he left all that he had in Joseph's hand; and he knew not
ought he had, save the bread which he did eat. And Joseph was a goodly
person, and well favoured. And it came to pass after these things, that his
master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me.
But he refused, and said unto his master's wife, Behold, my master wotteth not
what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; there is none
greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me
but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great
wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to
Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.
And it came to pass about this time, that Joseph went into the house to do his business; and there was
none of the men of the house there within. And she caught him by his garment, saying,
Lie with me: and he left his garment in her hand, and fled, and got him out.
And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hand, and was fled forth,
That she called unto the men of her house, and spake unto them, saying, See, he hath brought
in an Hebrew unto us to mock us; he came in unto me to lie with me,
and I cried with a loud voice: And it came to pass, when he heard that I lifted up my voice
and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled, and got him out.
And she laid up his garment by her, until his lord came home.
And she spake unto him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant,
which thou hast brought unto us, came in unto me to mock me: And it came to pass, as I lifted up
my voice and cried, that he left his garment with me, and fled out.
And it came to pass, when his master heard the words of his wife, which she spake unto him,
saying, After this manner did thy servant to me; that his wrath was kindled.

All of the above
And our Sages of blessed memory said that Moses our teacher, peace be upon him, said to Israel
Keep the Sabbath when you enter the Land of Israel and I promise
you that you will be saved from the Evil Inclination and from Satan
⟦...⟧ wise of kindness
It further hints that the Sabbath is a sign of a covenant between God and Israel
for God rested on the seventh day and was refreshed, and so Israel must
rest on the seventh day, and this is what is written: "Between Me and the children of Israel
it is a sign forever." And what is the sign? As it is written: "For in six days the Lord made
the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day He rested and was refreshed."
And if Israel keeps the Sabbath, they are testifying about God
that He created the world in six days and rested on the seventh day.
And anyone who testifies a true testimony is as if he became a partner with the Holy One, Blessed be He,
in the work of creation. And this is what our Sages of blessed memory said: "Anyone who sanctifies the Sabbath
is as if he became a partner with the Holy One, Blessed be He, in the work of creation." And this is what the
verse says: "And the children of Israel shall keep the Sabbath, to observe the Sabbath
throughout their generations as an everlasting covenant."
Finished and complete, praise be to the Creator of the world
For eye to eye they shall see
Our Rabbis of blessed memory said that in the future to come, eye to eye they shall see
when the Lord returns to Zion. And what is "eye to eye they shall see"? Rather, our Sages of blessed memory said:
A king of flesh and blood, when he builds a palace and ascends it to the
second floor, he cannot see what is on the first floor; and if he is
on the first floor, he cannot see what is on the second floor.
But the Holy One, Blessed be He, is not so; rather, He sits in the highest of heights
and sees what is done on earth. And this is what the verse says: "Who dwells
on high, who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and on earth." And so in the future to come,
when the Lord builds Zion and builds Jerusalem, everyone will see eye to eye.
And Israel, who were in exile and suffered many troubles and evils,
they will see the consolation of Zion and Jerusalem. And this is what the verse says:
"The voice of your watchmen! They lift up their voice, together they sing for joy; for eye to eye they shall see
when the Lord returns to Zion." And this is what the verse says: "Rejoice with Jerusalem,
and be glad for her, all you who love her; rejoice for joy with her, all you who mourn
over her." And this is what the verse says: "For the Lord has comforted Zion; He has comforted all her waste places,
and has made her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found
therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody." And this is what the verse says: "For the Lord has comforted His people,
He has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord has bared His holy arm in the eyes of all the nations;
and all the ends of the earth shall see the salvation of our God."

And Moses called to them, and Aaron and all the leaders in the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke
to them. And afterward all the children of Israel came near, and he commanded them
all that YHWH had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. And when Moses had finished speaking with them -
he put a veil on his face. And whenever Moses went in before YHWH to speak with Him, he would remove
the veil until he came out; and he would come out and speak to the children of Israel that which he was commanded -
And the children of Israel saw the face of Moses, that the skin of Moses' face shone; and Moses put
the veil back on his face until he went in to speak with Him. And Moses assembled all
the congregation of the children of Israel and said to them: These are the things which YHWH has commanded
to do them. Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be
to you a holy day, a Sabbath of rest to YHWH; whoever does work on it shall be put to death -
You shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations on the Sabbath day. And Moses said
to all the congregation of the children of Israel, saying: This is the thing which YHWH commanded,
saying: Take from among you an offering to YHWH; whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it -
the offering of YHWH: gold, and silver, and bronze, and blue, and purple, and scarlet
yarn, and fine linen, and goats' hair, and rams' skins dyed red, and tachash skins, and acacia
wood, and oil for the light, and spices for the anointing oil and for the sweet incense,
and onyx stones, and stones to be set for the ephod and for the breastplate. And every wise-hearted person
among you shall come and make all that YHWH has commanded: the Tabernacle,
its tent and its covering, its clasps and its boards, its bars,
its pillars and its sockets; the ark and its poles, the mercy seat,
and the veil of the screen; the table and its poles, and all its utensils,
and the showbread; and the lampstand for the light, and its utensils, and
its lamps, and the oil for the light; and the incense altar and its poles,
and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the screen for the entrance
at the entrance of the Tabernacle; the altar of burnt offering with its bronze grating,
its poles, and all its utensils; the basin and its stand; the hangings of
the court, its pillars and its sockets, and the screen for the gate of the court; the
pegs of the Tabernacle, and the pegs of the court, and their cords; the garments of
service for ministering in the holy place, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and
the garments of his sons to minister as priests. And all the congregation of the children of Israel departed from the presence of Moses.
And they came, every man whose heart stirred him up, and everyone whose spirit made him willing,
they brought the offering of YHWH for the work of the Tent of Meeting, and for all its service,
and for the holy garments. And the men came along with the women, as many as were willing-hearted,
and brought bracelets, and earrings, and rings, and tablets, all jewels of gold; and every man who
offered an offering of gold to YHWH. And every man with whom was found blue,
and purple, and scarlet yarn, and fine linen, and goats' hair, and rams' skins dyed red,
and tachash skins, brought them. Everyone who did lift up an offering of silver and bronze
brought the offering of YHWH; and every man with whom was found acacia wood
for any work of the service, brought it. And all the women that were wise-hearted did spin with their hands,
and brought that which they had spun, both of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet
yarn, and of fine linen. And all the women whose heart stirred them up in wisdom
spun the goats' hair. And the rulers brought the onyx stones, and the
stones to be set, for the ephod and for the breastplate; and the spice, and the oil
for the light, and for the anointing oil, and for the sweet incense. Every man and woman
whose heart made them willing to bring for all the work which YHWH had commanded
to be done by the hand of Moses, the children of Israel brought as a free-will offering to YHWH.
And Moses said to the children of Israel: See, YHWH has called by name Bezalel
the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah; and He has filled him with the spirit of God,
in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship; and to devise artistic designs,
to work in gold, and in silver, and in bronze, and in cutting of stones for setting,
and in carving of wood, to work in all manner of artistic workmanship. And He has put
in his heart that he may teach, both he and Oholiab the son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan. He has filled
them with wisdom of heart, to work all manner of work, of the engraver, and of the designer, and of the embroiderer,
in blue, and in purple, in scarlet yarn, and in fine linen, and of the weaver, even of them that do
any work, and of those that devise artistic design. And Bezalel and Oholiab shall work,
and every wise-hearted man, in whom YHWH has put wisdom and understanding
to know how to work all the work for the service of the sanctuary, according to all that
YHWH has commanded.
