Punishment for Students
Due to the following students:
1- Sami Baruch Shamash | 5- Ghazi Dawood Haskeel
2- Haskeel (Kamal) Ibrahim | 6- Sabah Yaqoub Rashti
3- Fuad Khadduri Salem | 7- Sabah Elias Aqirab
4- Nassim (Latif) Victor
who are in the fourth preparatory grade, committing acts disruptive to order during Mr. Muhammad Hassan al-Souri's class
on Tuesday, February 7, 1956, the Discipline Committee met under the chairmanship of the school principal
on Tuesday, February 14, 1956, and decided the following:
First - Imposing a temporary expulsion penalty for a period of two weeks on each of:
(1) Sami Baruch Shamash, (2) Haskeel (Kamal) Ibrahim, (3) Fuad Khadduri Salem.
effective from the morning of Tuesday, February 14, 1956. The committee also decided to deduct twenty
points from the conduct average of each of these three students because they were the primary causes
of the acts disruptive to order that occurred in the class on that day and on many previous occasions.
However, in view of the damage that depriving them of school attendance would cause, as it leads to depriving them
from participating in the mid-year examination, and in view of the pleas of their parents and out of mercy for them, it has
been decided to suspend the execution of the first part of the punishment and suffice with deducting twenty points from their conduct average.
Second - The committee also decided to impose the penalty of registered reprimand with the deduction of ten points from the conduct average of each of:
(1) Nassim (Latif) Victor, (2) Ghazi Dawood Haskeel, (3) Sabah Yaqoub Rashti, (4) Sabah
Elias Aqirab.
Note that the good behavior of the students Sabah Yaqoub Rashti and Sabah Elias Aqirab was taken into account in
the past, and no violation has been issued by them since the beginning of this school year until now, so their
punishment was reduced.
Third - Twenty points have already been deducted from the conduct average of student Fuad Khadduri Salem on November 16, 1955,
and thus the total points deducted from his conduct average have reached forty points. It has
also already been deducted from the conduct average of student Nassim (Latif) Victor five points on November 4, 1955, and thus the total points deducted from his conduct average have reached fifteen
points.
Furthermore, a student is considered to have failed his grade if 51% or more is deducted from his conduct grades.
The school administration will not hesitate to impose harsher penalties against these students in the future
should any act disruptive to order arise from them.
