Les classes d'histoire se faisaient toujours l'ap-

rès-midi.On entendait partout des cris de joie et les bras

se croisaient sur les tables.Le maitre quittait sa chaise

et venait s'asseoir parmi nous.Il ne lisait pas, il par-

lait, il racontait.Il lui arrivait parfois de se lever,

de tirer d'un coffre une carte qu'il accrochait au mur pour

nous montrer les places ou de grandes choses s'étaient

passées.On aurait dit que l'instituteur était un oncle

qui aurait raconté à ses neveux de belles histoires de
------ ----------------
voyage.Nous écoutions notre professeur avec plaisir.

C'était une heure très agréable.
