Description

These are documents from the Baghdadi Jewish schools. The documents consist of individual student records including photographs, exam scores, student certifications, admissions forms, letters of recommendation, applications to foreign institution, doctor’s notes, and correspondence regarding student affairs. In addition, there are several copies of the 1960-1961 Shamash Secondary School class rosters for grade/form five.

This is to certify that Miss Annette Yamen Joseph who attended Frank Iny Intermediate School & Shamash Secondary School from October 1955 till June 1961, has finished in June 1961, the graduating class (Fifth Form) of Shamash Secondary School. She also passed in the same month the Iraq State Baccalaureate examination for Secondary Education, Scientific Section, having gained in this examination an average mark of 73.9% in all the subjects.
While in Frank Iny School & Shamash Secondary School, both of which are under the same administration, the above candidate was always diligenttand of very good character.
Miss A.Y.Joseph is now eligible for entry into any higher institute of University standard in Iraq. She is physically & Mentally quite fit.
I recommend her for higher studies abroad as a fairlly good candidate.

Other Examinations passed by the above candidate:

1 - Iraq State Baccalaureate Examination for Primary Education
in June 1955. This examination is, in standard, equivalent
roughly to the Common Entrance Examination of the English
School or to grade 7 of the American School.

2 - Certificat d'Etudes Primaires Examination, conducted by the
French Embassy, Baghdad in May 1957, ranking 3rd among 44
candidates from Frank Iny School.

3 - Brevet Elementaire Examination in French, Literary Section,
conducted in Baghdad by a special Commission from the Lebanon
in May 1959, ranking 10th among 17 candidates from Frank Iny
School.

4 - Iraq State Baccalaureate Examination for Intermediate Education
in June 1959, ranking 15th among 32 candidates from Frank Iny
School.

5 - London University General Certificate of Education Examination in the following subjects:-

Prior to joining Frank Iny Primary School in October 1955,
Miss A.Y. Joseph did three years of Primary Schooling at the
old-established Alliance School in Baghdad which was united
with Frank Iny Primary School in October 1951.

While in Frank Iny School and Shamash Secondary
School, both of which are under my administration, the
above candidate was always diligent and of good character.

At present the above candidate is attending the
Fifth Form of Shamash Secondary School, and is making
progress. In June 1961 she will be sitting for the Iraq
State Baccalaureate Examination for Secondary Education,
Scientific Section. To judge by her Secondary School
record she should be able to pass this examination
satisfactorily in due course. She will then be eligible
for entry into any higher institute of University standard
in Iraq.

Miss A.Y. Joseph is physically and mentally quite
fit. I recommend her for further studies abroad as a fairly
good candidate.
