To the Honorable Presidency of the Schools Committee
Reference to your letter dated 19 July 1933

However, it decided to recommend your honorable committee to exert the utmost effort to settle the teachers' requests by prioritizing those with

To the Honorable President of the Physical Council
Greetings and respect:
It is not hidden from your presence that the Israeli sectarian schools have finished their
final exams and that the Study School has not started yet, especially the advanced section which applied
the curriculum to the letter and which does not differ from the rest of the schools in anything. Therefore, we have come to ask your presence
to agree that we start the exam as of the beginning of next week, and we thank you.
July 21, 1922
On behalf of the teachers of the Study School section
Referred to the Honorable Examination Committee for consideration and to inform us of its decision in this regard.
The Secretary
21 / 7 / 922
Urgent
I see no justification for this delay in commencing the exams alongside the advanced sections for them.
I suggest that the school starts immediately.
21 / 7 / 1922
The Schools Committee had decided not to interfere in the affairs of the Study
School due to the impossibility of applying the decisions that include all other
schools, and therefore I suggest that we do not interfere in this matter.
Elia
His Excellency the Vice President. It appears from the explanation of Mr. Elia attached herewith that
there is no desire to interfere in this case, and therefore I see it necessary for
the Council to intervene if its motive is the role played by the Council
in its capacity as general supervisor over the conduct of examinations in
the advanced section at least or the rest of

Excellency
The Honorable Vice President of the Lay Council
Greetings and respect
It is no secret to your Excellency that our school is almost too narrow for its students and is crowded
to an extent unparalleled in other schools. Official primary schools
in Baghdad do not exceed one hundred and twenty or one hundred and fifty students,
while our school includes such a number in a single one of its classes, a matter which
has made us think long and hard about solving this issue out of fear for the students' health and out of mercy for them from
dizziness and diseases, especially during examination times when we are forced to seat them
in one place in a state of tightness and crowding. Today an opportunity has arisen for us which we present
to your esteemed council for consideration and to give a decision for its implementation as soon as possible.
Exactly opposite the school there is a ruined place that has long been a focal point for filth and dirt
thrown into it from neighboring houses, and the Capital Secretariat recently ordered the demolition of its walls.
This property belongs to the endowments of the Midrash School and the Mandili Prayer Hall; it can
be leveled and leased for our account for a small amount to be used as a place for examinations and a hall for lectures
and anthems, so that we may thereby relieve the severe overcrowding of the school.
This is what we wanted to present to your Excellency, and we have firm hope that you will appreciate
this vital issue. Respectfully yours,
School Principal

Honorable Vice President of the Respected Lay Council
It is not hidden from you that the employees of the Midrash schools are demanding the salaries
accumulated from five months to fifteen months, and most of them are poor and needy, and in
every week several petitions are submitted to us from them requesting assistance, and we have deliberated on
their case many times, but we saw no choice but to request assistance from your respected council
by ordering the payment of a portion of the Midrash claims that are on the community fund, or that you pay
us the allocations for the three months of July, August, and September in advance so that we can manage the administration.
Our committee has appointed one of its members, Yamin Murad, to attend your respected council for deliberation
on this matter, the budget, and the new deficit. With much respect;
