Based on the certificate of the Registrar of Betrothal and Marriage Contracts
for the Jewish community in Baghdad, we hereby confirm that Mr.
Nessim Hay bin Abdullah Faraj Moshy currently residing in
Calcutta has betrothed Miss Violet Shemtob
David on the seventeenth day of August of the year one
thousand nine hundred and forty-eight AD. That
the betrothal ceremony took place in Baghdad on behalf of
the groom by Mr. Moshi Murad Sabha according to the power of attorney
presented by him dated the sixteenth of August
of the year one thousand nine hundred and forty-eight AD. That
the betrothal contract is as binding as a marriage contract according to the provisions of Jewish law
and cannot be dissolved except by divorce.
In accordance with the certificate
of the Matrimonial Registrar of the
Jewish Community at Baghdad, I hereby
