Previously, we searched all the shops and houses in this manner.
When we took over the building's affairs, Mr. Muqbil gave us a list like the previous one, and we have followed this plan until now.
If we do not change this, all claims will slip from our hands because we have no assistant to collect
these accumulated amounts by force, as has happened in many similar cases where some of the owners of
shops and houses rebelled against paying. We, in turn, wrote to your esteemed committee, and you referred ⟦18⟧ cases to the lawyer Yaqub Abdul Aziz.
There are six people with lawsuits against (a lawsuit for a house usurper for a period of three years or more without
paying anything; rather, he occupied it by force). The lawyer finished ⟦by dropping⟧ the lawsuit against any one of them, and they remained in this state.
As for the lawsuits filed by some of them, he reached an agreement with them, so they postponed for several months, ⟦and then⟧ in the end, he advised us to reconcile with them.
If we do not reconcile with them, they leave the house vacant, and the debt remains their responsibility after they stayed in the house for a long time and enjoyed it
without paying anything because they are in agreement with the lawyer. When we demanded that he file lawsuits against all these claims,
he tells us, "Search for the new Ibn Kahla," for example, the case of Munira Qasim, where he agreed with ⟦the lawyer⟧ and the lawsuit was dismissed.
When we forced him to file the lawsuit a second time, he fled, and there is no house in his name for an amount of sixty dinars after the house was completely
ruined. He told us, "Search in any hotel where she is dancing." This was the lawyer's answer.
When the previous Property Committee reviewed these cases and the results of filing lawsuits, fearing the loss of money
and the occurrence of much confusion in the community's financial affairs, it decided to act as follows:
Whoever brings any part of the debt, you take it. For whoever wants to renew the contract, first we threaten him; if he becomes afraid, we are able to increase
his rent by an amount. If we are unable, we take from him as before. If he wants to reduce his rent during the legal period
according to the reduction law, we speak to him with kind words because this belongs to orphans, the poor, and the needy. We convinced some
of them not to reduce. When ⟦I⟧ submitted a report last week about two cases for filing a lawsuit and informed
the lawyer Ibrahim Azoum, I reached an understanding with him, but he became afraid and said, ("I do not take on eviction lawsuits for Karkhiya property and others.")
So please guide us to another method ⟦so that⟧ I may follow it to rid myself of all responsibilities,
because I always like to obey my superiors and obey all the orders of the esteemed committee.
So please ⟦inform me⟧, I ask you: should I collect money for the previous months, or should I consider these
properties and shops required for the previous months as I mentioned to you above, for example, regarding Daoud Salman?
