Text of the Letter
It is no secret that young Iraq is now being swept by a comprehensive wave of development in various fields
cultural, health, economic, social, urban, and others, and each of these fields has basic pillars
upon which the entity of this development as a whole is based
And since preventive medicine is part of this general development, taking its progressive steps continuously and to keep pace with the nations
advanced, we saw it as an important matter to expand our step regarding thoracic surgery, where citizens
suffering from surgical chest diseases until recently faced a fate we could not avoid, so whoever
among them was well-off traveled to Europe and America for treatment, and whoever among them was not well-off remained struggling with
death until he passed away.
And now, thanks to the efforts continuously exerted by the Ministry of Health, whether by providing
capable thoracic surgery or bringing in thoracic surgeons of an excellent standard, and distributing that in
Prince Abdul Ilah Hospital, the door to modern treatment has become wide open.
And our hospital has come to be considered an educational and treatment center at the same time
This is after the surgeons warned and we were faced with the problem clearly and openly, which is that there is no thoracic surgery except
by providing sufficient quantities of blood because no thoracic surgery is performed except by supplying the patient with quantities
of blood, and blood donation, as is common in advanced countries, has become nothing more than a duty
humanitarian based on the basis of chivalry for the sake of saving innocent lives, so in this way we provoke your determination
to help this humanitarian institution and we appeal to you for your members to donate what their generous souls can afford
to achieve this great goal, in addition to that, it has been decided to pay three dinars for one unit of blood with the emphasis
that giving this blood does not cause any bad effect on the health of the donors and may be beneficial in some
cases for those afflicted with high blood pressure.

During my inspection of Karbala Province, I visited (Najaf Secondary School) on Monday morning
23 / 1 / 1956 and found no one except the teaching staff. I inquired about the reason for
the students' absence and was told that they had stopped attending classes in preparation for exams,
and I was also informed that their absence started from Sunday 22 / 1, even though there were
12 days remaining until the exams.
I also visited (Al-Sudair) Intermediate School on the same day and found the school doors locked
with the teaching staff inside. This is a matter that should not be overlooked, as it is
a waste of study time.

During my visits to private schools, I found that they lack the following:-
1- Maps of the countries and continents scheduled to be taught in geography lessons.
2- Pictures and supplies for object and health lessons.
3- Pictures for conversation in the primary grades.
4- Furniture and supplies specific to kindergartens.
5- Suitable books for their libraries.
6- Equipping themselves with registers and organizing them in a manner similar to official schools.
We request that the administrations of the aforementioned schools be instructed on the necessity of equipping their schools with what we mentioned above.
We also request that you emphasize to them the need to send a list of the names of the library books they currently have.
