With reference to your letter numbered 1852 and dated 26 / 1 / 1965, please note the following -
First - The vacant lot 330 Kawlat has a total area of two thousand square meters, more than half of which was leased on a long-term lease to
Messrs. Ahmed Al-Salloum and Abdul Hadi Al-Haj Faraj Hamza in 1948 according to the contract certified by the Notary Public under
General Number 832 and dated 13 / 3 / 1948, certified by the Notary Public of East Baghdad. As for the remaining part of the area of the mentioned lot,
it consists of the two khans 156 / 242 and 56b / 242 utilized by the Administrative Committee.
Then the property numbered 156 / 242 was vacated due to the danger of its building, based on our request addressed to your directorate on 14 / 8 / 1961.
As for the other property numbered 56b / 242, it was occupied until the date of 22 / 8 / 1965, which is the date of the contract with Sultan Al-Majdhab.
Accordingly, the two mentioned properties are not subject to the provisions of the Vacant Land Tax Law No. 26 of 1962 for the following two years.
A - A part of the lot 330 Kawlat has buildings constructed on it since 1948 according to the contract with Ahmed Al-Salloum
referred to above, with an area exceeding half of it, and therefore the remaining part of it, being of the type
on which no building is constructed, is not subject to the provisions of the vacant land tax.
B - The remaining part of lot 330 Kawlat leased to Mr. Sultan Al-Majdhab according to the contract referred
to in your letter consists of two khans, one of which was vacated several years ago and the second is still occupied until
the date of the contract with him.
Second - We attach herewith check number 2240 dated 15 / 9 / 1965 drawn on the National Bank in the amount of 81/440 Dinars
for the claim due on property 56b / 242.
