The court sentenced the fugitive convict Mugheer Shakhir Nazal to rigorous imprisonment for a period of two years in accordance with the provisions of Article 219 of the Penal Code, to be executed against him from the date of his arrest, and considering his crime an ordinary misdemeanor not involving dishonor according to the Rehabilitation Law, and obliging him to compensate the father of the victim, the complainant Saleh Ahmed Najm, an amount of three hundred dinars for the damage he suffered as a result of the killing of the victim Zahra Saleh Nazhat, to be implemented when the judgment becomes final, and awarding lawyer's fees to the convict's appointed lawyer, Mr. Mahmoud Al-Alousi, an amount of twenty-five dinars to be paid to him from the state treasury when the judgment becomes final, and issuing an arrest warrant against the convict according to Article 219 of the Penal Code. The decision was issued in absentia, and the said convict has the right to object to it within the legal period stipulated in paragraph (a) of Article 242 of the Criminal Procedure Code based on the provisions of Article 143 of the Procedure.
