Corresponding to Wednesday
To the Honorable Secretary of the President of the Jewish Community
Greetings and respect
Furthermore, I am pleased to send you my best wishes, wishing you help, success,
and continuous prosperity in your work, and may happiness be your ally. We pray to God
the Almighty, and the Almighty makes everyone who deserves goodness and fruitful work happy
for his subjects
My dear guardian, my lord, we are harmed and finished from all human
aspects. We are the soldiers miserable in our lives, we seek cover from your kindness
towards us with assistance because the calamities made us refrain from sending them
to you because we acknowledge that you provide assistance, mercy, and kindness
due to the many calamities that occur over our heads
And no more than this is hidden from you

And we pray that happiness be your ally and we hope for continued assistance to us and a way
to intimidate us, especially regarding the transport daily for 7 hours at night, and the killing and insults
against us, and this is easy and under Mr. Shin, the soldiers of Diwaniyah
And please help us with whatever you can and make us slaves to you instead of others
Here we kiss your noble hands and we convey our greetings to the respected head of the community
and to all its employees entirely, and to you thanks, sir

To His Eminence Mr. Ezekiel Shattub, the respected
With great honor and reverence.
We had contacted your Eminence yesterday by telephone, and unfortunately we did not have the pleasure of speaking with you. We contacted your
respected son and explained to him the current situation we are in, and he suggested that we send someone we trust for the purpose of
contacting you. Accordingly, I request your Eminence's permission for the following:
1- You previously requested from us in your letter numbered ⟦illegible⟧ and dated ⟦illegible⟧ / 8 / 950 the necessity of the attendance of
the individuals whose Iraqi citizenship was revoked, along with their full fees. Therefore, I wish to inform your Eminence
that the full required fees are with them.
2- You promised the members who had the honor of meeting you on the morning of 2 / 8 / 950 that their travel would definitely take place
when the aircraft movement is regularized. We have learned that the movement has been regularized, and therefore we have come to seek your magnanimity
to kindly show compassion to these people whose citizenship was revoked and who arrived approximately fifteen days ago,
especially in view of the hardship they suffer in living, in addition to the poor social condition
that has befallen them. In view of the harshness witnessed in this country and to avoid
the occurrence of unforeseen incidents, as we are in extreme haste to register their travel to avoid
this matter.
We are awaiting your high mercy for the issuance of your order for the departure of ⟦illegible⟧ of these people. May God increase
people like you as a pride for the country.
By the sincere

Sulaymaniyah 12 / 8 / 950
Dear respected brother Mir Ibrahim Raphael,
After greetings and respect.
My brother, you may have asked what happened in Sulaymaniyah upon the arrival
of the cars of the Jews of Halabja. As they were roaming the streets
without the police department responding to them. And they send a car with them
for their protection, and when one of the cars was delayed and reached
the shop of Haj Mulla Sharif, where the adults and children were
throwing stones, watermelon rinds, and insults at them, while the police
stood laughing at what was happening. After the drivers returned
from Kirkuk, we asked them about what happened on the road, and one of them
said, no, not just one of them, in Chamchamal and in Kirkuk
they showered them with dirty water. My dear brother, you may have asked
and you know the case in its correct form. This is what happened
to the Jews of Halabja, but as for what will come to the Jews of Sulaymaniyah

As the situation worsened on Thursday and Friday regarding
this matter concerning the case of Hayyim Saqr and Doctor Sheena, as
Doctor Abdul Rahman and the rest of the doctors plotted a conspiracy against them,
claiming that Hayyim did such and such. On
Thursday, a group of Muslims rose up and began shouting
in the market that the religion of Islam has become soiled, and they headed
to the Mutasarrif demanding the execution of Hayyim and all the Jews. Fear
began to flutter over all the Jews, and the
Sheikhs intervened in the case as I heard, and the situation remains tense. Therefore,
I hope to inform all those in authority of this, and if possible
the head of the community, due to the negligence shown by the
Police Department. This, and give my greetings to our brother Salman Sawab;
I think he did not handle everything in a serious and wise manner.
Stay well,
Your brother,
Yaqub Abdullah

To His Excellency the President of the Jewish Community, the respected
Through the Committee of the Menashi Saleh Shelter, the respected
Presented to your Excellency:
We, the group of refugees living in the Menashi Saleh shelter, have been here for
a long time and now we are very distressed because our children are sleeping in the courtyard
without bedding, and the children are catching cold, and at night the women cry
over their children from the abundance of ⟦clouds/distress⟧, and until now we had some money that we were spending
and buying food and other necessary things, and now our money
has run out. We beg your Excellency to have mercy on us by revoking our citizenship at the earliest
possible time, and if we do not have the ⟦revocation papers⟧, the children will perish and we cannot
bear to watch the torment any longer. The matter is yours, with thanks. 7/21/1950
