(8) Secretary Presidency of the Jewish Community in Baghdad Baghdad 19 / 12 / 950 Dear Professor Anwar Is it possible to kindly provide us with clarification regarding the following? 1- If a father (convert) has converted to the Islamic religion and has minors living with their Jewish mother or with their Jewish relatives, is there a way to revoke their citizenship? 2- There are minors whose father registered to revoke his citizenship by intent only. How can he be prevented from traveling given that the maintenance of the minors is the father's duty? And I believe that perhaps the minors should file a maintenance lawsuit against their father in the Personal Status Court and consequently stop the father's citizenship revocation process based on the request of the Personal Status Court) 3- A person named Munshi Saleh claims that he was arrested as a fugitive and it was decided to annul his citizenship, so when he applied to revoke his family's citizenship with him, his request was rejected and he asked to take precautions regarding this case for fear of being deported without his family. Is it possible to send him to you to study his case. 2- The case of a husband who wishes to revoke his citizenship knowing that the wife is under the legal age, can her citizenship be revoked with the minors' papers with? ⟦illegible⟧ ⟦signature⟧

To the Honorable President of the Jewish Community Presented to your Excellency and your esteemed position: - We, the residents of Diwaniyah Province and its districts - Al-Shamiya, Al-Samawa, and the sub-district of Al-Daghara, numbering approximately one thousand six hundred people, have come as a delegation and approached the police departments requesting the opening of a registration center for the renunciation of citizenship. However, we were surprised by what we did not expect, as we were asked to submit individual petitions and personal guarantee bonds. All of this proved to us that this situation differs fundamentally from all the centers that were opened throughout Iraq for registration, and for this reason we have temporarily stopped registering until we clarify this fact to your Excellency, hoping to end these anomalous situations and provide the police with the necessary information like other provinces. The matter is yours, sir. (18) 12th April 1950 Mr. A. H. Fuller, P.O.Box 99. Azizieh Street, Basrah. Dear Sirs, I am in receipt, with thanks, of your letter without date in which you offered arrangements for air-transport from Baghdad and Basrah to Lydda. In an interview on this subject I have had to-day with his Excellency the Minister of Interior, it is understood that similar approach had also been made to him direct. His Excellency has no objection, it is learned, to the award to your Firm, the air-transport of Jews leaving Iraq if the place of arrival is changed to Cyprus instead of Lydda which I trust you will have no difficulties in arranging this at the same charges. I should be glad to hear at your earliest convenient date if this agreable and whether air-transport can also be made available from Cyprus to Lydda. Further particulars as to the approximate date on which air transport from Baghdad and Basra can be started will be much apprfciated. Awaiting with much interest the receipt of your further news I remain, Dear Sirs, Yours faithfully,
