After greetings
As a result of the refugees occupying our school for a period of two and a half months, the school's toilets
and its sewers have been damaged, and their repair requires an amount of fifty dinars to open new sewers in an
urgent manner.
The Israeli Schools Committee does not agree to spend this amount considering that it is not
responsible for the destruction that occurred, so we hope you will kindly approve the expenditure of the amount to enable us to start
the work immediately. The condition of the toilets has become such that it harms the neighbors, and it is not hidden from your presence that
this situation causes many disturbances and an infringement on our part against the neighbors, so we hope for your approval
And please accept the highest respect

To the Honorable Presidency of the Israelite Community
Presented to your Eminence:
The situation of the Erbil refugees has begun to worsen from bad to worse with the arrival of the harsh
winter in Erbil. What increases the criticality of our position is the departure of the second convoy from Erbil, as
we will become without shelter or food, and all our hope in life will end, and no one will know our fate then except
God.
We plead for mercy from your Eminence to have mercy on our condition before the disaster occurs, and to look
at our problem with a realistic view, and to kindly mediate to solve our problem with a quick,
realistic, and satisfactory solution.
We have approached your presence repeatedly but to no avail, and we hope that this will be the final appeal
to solve our problem.
The Eminence of the community has sheltered thousands like us, shown them every kindness, and spent
on them generously; has the spring run dry upon our arrival?
We call upon you in the name of humanity and in the name of Judaism to treat us equally with our brothers,
the (Baghdad refugees), for we are like them ⟦if we are not more deserving than them⟧.
We hope that you will ease your consciences by finding a just and urgent solution to our problem, and by doing so you will gain the pleasure of
God and our satisfaction, and by this action you will have saved approximately 700 people from the clutches of hunger,
cold, and disease. This is all, and peace.

Honorable Rabbi Mr. Saleh Shammash, respected
After greetings
With reference to our oral conversation taking place today 12/5/50 ⟦in the Yehuda Shatoub Synagogue⟧
regarding the people of Tuz Khurmatu, numbering 29 people ⟦according to⟧ the list
delivered to you, whose transportation fees amount to 24.500 dinars, in addition to
the family of Shalom Nissan, consisting of five people, who had previously paid
to you in cash 5.500 dinars.
It is no secret to you that the aforementioned group had previously placed with
the person of His Excellency the Head of the Community a deposit in the amount of 24.500 dinars as
previously stated in a special letter in his possession. And due to ⟦not the hotel⟧ financial distress, an oversight occurred
where the specialized committee at that time used this amount to pay it as a subsidy for
the transportation fees of some of the needy, as is not hidden from you.
Accordingly, we ask you to disregard the claim for transportation fees from the aforementioned
persons, and we also request the return of the amount of 5.500 dinars to them as they are in need
to pay the value of the necessities they are buying.
I would be most grateful if this issue were resolved as quickly
as possible. Please accept my further thanks and respect.
Sincerely

His Excellency the Director of Travel and Nationality Police, Respected
After greetings,
It is not hidden from Your Excellency that it is an established matter that a minor is under the legal guardianship of his father, and in the event of the father's death, the
guardianship passes to his paternal grandfather, and the minor in this case is under the upbringing of the grandfather who takes the place of the father legally and lawfully. This
legal rule is observed and considered in all laws. Since I have a grandson named Saleh Hazqeel, who is 7 years old, whose
father died and I became his legal guardian, I applied to request the renunciation of his nationality along with mine, but the competent official refused to carry out
the required transaction.
It is not hidden from Your Excellency that this opposition leads to leaving the minor without a legal guardian while stripping his guardianship from me, a matter
which does not agree with legal statutes nor is it accepted by your honest conscience. Furthermore, since the observed rule allows the father to renounce
the nationality of his minor children with him according to his guardianship over the minor, then when the minor child is deprived of the father and the guardianship passes
to the paternal grandfather, the paternal grandfather can request the renunciation of his grandson's nationality with him instead of leaving him a burden on others
without securing his fate and caring for his upbringing.
Therefore, I have come appealing to Your Excellency to order the acceptance of the renunciation of the nationality of my aforementioned minor grandson.
With much gratitude and respect to Your Excellency;
Moshe Shamma

Honorable Vice President
After greetings,
Mr. Daoud Haroun, from the residents of Halabja (Sulaymaniyah), visited me
and presented the attached document, claiming it is a deed belonging to the Torah
of the Jewish people of Halabja, and its ownership belongs to his grandfather Yehuda, who has
passed away, while his children have traveled outside the country. Since
all the Jews of Halabja have migrated to Baghdad, no one remains. And
the Torah [synagogue] has been closed and locked.
The aforementioned person claims that in Halabja there is a person named Anwar Bey ⟦Al-Jaff⟧
who wishes to purchase it for an amount exceeding five hundred dinars, and that he has
influence with the government that enables him to buy it without objection
to this sale by the competent authorities. However, he wishes the sale
to be conducted through the Head of the Community and not through its owners.
Kindly order what is necessary.

Presented to your Excellency:
My daughter named (Evelyn Haskel), aged (12) years, is (mentally disabled).
She is currently in my home, and I am in a weak financial state and divorced from my husband, with no source of income to support
myself and this disabled girl. Note that the disabled girl has renounced her Iraqi citizenship, and her number is
21475, renounced along with the illness. It is not hidden from you that this number is slow and takes a long time, especially
since the residents of the house are annoyed by the disabled girl staying in their home. Therefore, I have come to seek your mercy and approval for
her immediate deportation, and by doing so, you will help me and save me from difficulties. This is for your command, sir.
Note that I tried to admit her to the Royal Hospital in Baghdad, but the doctor
specializing in neurological diseases (Jack Abboudi) did not agree to that because she is young, and now
I am confused about her matter. I hope your Excellency will grant this request of mine. I have published her photo in
the local Al-Zaman newspaper attached to this petition, as the aforementioned girl has fled from the house
several times, and each time it costs me heavy expenses, knowing that I am poor and
all police stations and respected government departments have been unable to handle her, and these departments confirm that she is disabled
and has no cure.
This matter is entrusted to your Excellency, sir.
The petitioner has children other than the disabled one, three in total. The petitioner:
