You have previously requested to be provided with information regarding
the two death certificates attached herewith due to the suspicion
surrounding their authenticity about fifteen days ago. Since it appeared to me
that the two mentioned certificates were presented to the Directorate of Travel

the order to conduct an investigation in a fast and confidential manner regarding their authenticity
and how they were issued by the person in charge of burial affairs.
This is for your order.

His Excellency the President of the Jewish Community, Respected
After greetings
Our committee took over the management of the Menashi Saleh School shelter on 26 / 6 / 950
And despite the expansion of our responsibility in supporting the refugees, managing them, and caring for them in proportion to the increase in their numbers and the multiplication of their problems
We were able to manage the enormous expenses required by our mission thanks to the donations we received from benefactors. Since
the community administration has not provided us, since we took over the shelter, with more than six hundred dinars, which is the expenses for about ten days only.
As for now, our resources from donations have stopped, while the shelter's expenses continue
to increase steadily despite our following the maximum possible economy. In view of the above, we inform Your Excellency that
after the extraordinary meeting held by our committee this morning and after considering all possibilities
and probabilities, we found that it is impossible for us to continue working after twenty-four hours from today unless we receive
a sufficient amount that guarantees the shelter's normal operation.
Accordingly, in this situation, and to prevent the chaos that will inevitably
occur in the shelter after we quit work, we request attention to appointing someone to take over its affairs.
Please accept our highest respect

Reference to your marginal note dated 9 / 8 / 1950 on the attached petition. The result of
the audit showed that the members of this family, namely Farha Moshi and her two daughters Latifa Yaqub and ⟦B⟧ertin Yaqub,
possess civil status records numbered 99, 100, and 2462 issued by the Kifl Civil Status Office and were born
in Baghdad, but they resided in Al-Kifl. ⟦And⟧ as for the petitioner Yusuf Yaqub, he has been residing with them in Al-Kifl
also since the year 1946, as they all took this sub-district as their place of residence without leaving it since
the aforementioned year and they did not change their residence there. Therefore, since they have become residents of the sub-district
of Al-Kifl in the Hilla Brigade, we request that you order the competent authorities to conduct their registration process to revoke their nationalities
in the Hindiya District. With respect,

Subject: Forgery of death documents
The person named Heskel Hadhouri Ezra, aged (16) years and considered a minor, visited us
claiming that his parents are deceased and requesting the completion of his deportation processing with his older sister who
renounced her nationality, due to his minority and the absence of a legal guardian for him other than her. On this basis
we requested him to support his claim with a statement from a neighborhood Mukhtar and a witness, so he presented us with the two documents numbered and dated
7200 on 1950/7/24 and 7201 on 1950/7/24 confirming the death of his father and mother. Then
a secret report was received stating that these two documents have no basis in truth. Based on this report, the competent
assistant conducted an investigation and it was proven to him that there is no basis of truth for these two documents and that the parents of the referred person
⟦are alive⟧ so he brought them before him and they confessed that they are the parents of the aforementioned. Therefore, please inform us who is
responsible for organizing such documents. Also, please draw the attention of your specialized employees to not
repeat this in the future. And inform us.

You are aware that we issue such certificates based on
a certificate signed by Mr. Subhi Haddad, the administrator of
the parish in Aqaba. According to the procedures, we have issued
these two certificates based on the documents submitted by him and
attached herewith. Accordingly, I summoned the aforementioned
Mr. Subhi and reviewed his records, and it appeared that the names
of both Khadouri Ezra Shaqroun and Naeema Khadouri
Naftali were present instead of Khadouri Ezra and Naeema Naftali
I am informing you of the matter, please.

It has become clear to us that you provided us with two death certificates, the first in the name of Naeema Naftali and the second
in the name of Khedhouri Ezra, while it appeared that the correct names of the two deceased according to your records are Naeema
Khedhouri Naftali and Khedhouri Ezra Shamoun respectively, which led to confusion.
Therefore, we request that you write the names of the deceased in the certificates you issue literally as they exist
in your records without neglecting a name or a title.

Since all death certificates are issued by us based on the documents of the Undertaker ⟦line⟧
at the Jewish Cemetery in Baghdad, we have audited the records of the aforementioned person and it became clear to us that the names
of the two deceased persons intended in the certificates No. 3300 and 3301 dated 1950/7/24
are Naeema Khadhuri Naftali and Khadhuri Ezra Shimon respectively. It has been confirmed to us that the aforementioned person
submitted these two documents with the names written in them by mistake and in good faith, and we have drawn his attention to the necessity
of writing the names in the certificates he issues literally as they exist in his records in the future.

Further to our letter No. 4 dated 1 / 9 / 1950.
Our committee decided in its meeting held on 4 / 9 / 1950 to continue
paying the allowances of the Income Tax employees amounting to sixty dinars per month, especially
since the mentioned allowances were paid to them with the approval of the Ministry of Finance in its letter No.
