His Excellency the President of the Jewish Community in Baghdad
Presented to your Excellency:
We are a group of Jewish residents of Baqubah who have renounced our citizenship and completed
all related transactions, and we have also finalized our clearances. Our papers were sent
to the competent authorities in Baghdad last Saturday, corresponding to
5/27/950. After that, some of us left our jobs and sought refuge in Baghdad
waiting to travel. Therefore, we hope that your Excellency will take interest in completing our transaction
and request its acceleration and release from the competent authorities so that the duration of
our wait in Baghdad is not prolonged, forcing us to spend the money we have, which we
are in dire need of to pay travel fees and others. To your Excellency, thanks
and respect.

1 - The case of the residents of some villages near Aqra district
(Susnawa village)
A person named Pero, a resident of (Susnawa) village, was killed
while he was returning from Aqra to his village, where he had gone
to buy some grain for consumption. Following this
incident, seven families became fearful and moved to Baghdad.
The work of the people of Susnawa is farming.
2 - The case of the people of Shusha
In this village, about twelve families left Shusha
for Aqra and from there to Baghdad due to the harassment occurring against them
and the threat that included them (Siddiq Othman Agha) to hand over their sons
who were evading military service, whereas he had helped them
in previous years to evade service, knowing
that the majority of these families serve the aforementioned Agha in addition
to their work in farming and other incidental crafts. A group of
those who wanted to leave their homes stayed from 10 / 10 to 10 / 2
and following any threat or harassment, they did not leave their village despite
the fact that they are in Baghdad due to what they learned about the ease of their travel from Baghdad.

to revoke their citizenship.

Our brothers, the honorable members of the community
We have previously warned those concerned among the members of the community about the many disadvantages that result
from the gathering of large crowds in front of the Mas'uda Shemtob School when the cars carrying passengers depart
to the airport, or the occurrence of crowding at the airport itself.
We deeply regret observing the recurrence of such gatherings, whether near the Mas'uda Shemtob Synagogue or at
the civil airport to watch the travelers or to bid them farewell. We have seen fit to repeat our request to the members of the community
to refrain completely from gathering in the aforementioned places, as such gatherings cause great harm to the public
interest because they disrupt order and have a bad effect on the course of matters, the consequences of which are feared.
Therefore, we repeat our request to all those concerned to refrain completely from gathering in the aforementioned
places, and we regret to inform you that we will be forced to mediate with the competent authorities to take firm
measures to prevent this gathering.
