To His Excellency, the Most Honorable Minister of Interior
Presented to Your Excellency.
Our Master. We, the undersigned members of the Jewish community in Nasiriyah, have submitted a request to renounce Iraqi citizenship in accordance with the Citizenship Renunciation Law Decree No. 62 of 1933 and No. 1 of 1950.
This was on 4/30/1950, and after completing our transactions regarding citizenship renunciation, clearance, fingerprinting, criminal records, travel permits, and others, they were sent to Baghdad at the time. Here we are, still waiting for permission to travel to no avail - until hope died in our chests and expectation was cut off.
It is not hidden from Your Excellency that we are of the poor class and among those who lost their jobs a long time ago. All that we had saved, we spent on supporting our families and children. Now we do not even possess the airfare, and we live by the power of the Almighty. We remain bewildered and stunned before the status quo after we sold all our household furniture; we are neither traveling, nor staying, nor finding work through which we might satisfy the hunger of our starving children and families. Even if we wanted, our Master, to live by begging and soliciting, we would not find anyone to give us a crust of bread. If the situation continues like this for a few more days, it will inevitably lead us to one of two things: either suicide or madness. Who can see with their own eyes their children and family starving?
In the name of humanity and justice, we seek your justice, knocking on the door of your mercy, asking for mercy. Mercy, our Master, for our children and families, either by deporting us outside Iraq or by your order to instruct the Presidency of the Jewish Community in Baghdad to shelter us in one of its locations so that it may support our families.
Here we entrust our tormented souls and the innocent souls of our children as a trust in your pure hands so that you may decide our fate. The matter is entrusted to your sound opinion, our esteemed Master.

We request the allocation of a sufficient number of police officers to maintain order in
the street of Masouda Shemtob Synagogue located in Al-Bataween, numbered 2 / 9 / 1, as
the mentioned synagogue is being used as a ⟦center⟧ for the deportation of Jews whose Iraqi
citizenship has been revoked. In view of the large crowds and congestion near the mentioned synagogue, we request taking
the measures you deem appropriate to prevent this congestion and maintain order.
With our highest gratitude and respect.

His Excellency the President of the Jewish Community in Baghdad, the Respected
After greetings and much respect, members of the Jewish community
in Mosul are still approaching us urgently regarding the income tax, as a group of them
were not previously registered. And the Income Tax Department in Mosul has notified them
and subjected them to exorbitant taxes for a period of five years, and since most of these
applicants are poor and unable to pay those taxes, and we have understood that
Your Excellency was able to obtain an order exempting persons who did not have
a name in the records of the Income Tax Department previously, so we ask you to please
inform us of the truth of this news so that we may approach the
competent authorities in light of it. With our highest respect to Your Excellency.

After greetings,
In view of what we have noticed regarding the large number of applicants from Jews whose
Iraqi citizenship has been revoked to your department for the purpose of endorsing Hebrew religious books
(the Torah and its commentaries) belonging to them, in order to allow them to transport them with their personal
belongings outside Iraq, we have seen fit to request that you notify the competent customs
departments to allow them to transport these books without the need to present them to your
respected department, in order to simplify matters given the clarity of their religious subjects.
Please accept our highest respect;

Respectfully submitted,
Mr. President - Out of the Kirkuk community's desire to consult your Excellency regarding the procedures to be taken concerning
the Torah scrolls and their implements located in Kirkuk, given that most of the town's members are rushing to renounce [citizenship], and it is expected that
the Torah scrolls will remain completely vacant in the end. We ask you to kindly inform us and guide us on the method you deem appropriate
for the Torah implements in this regard. As you will find below a list of the Torah implements, we therefore ask your Excellency to inform us of what is necessary
in writing so that we may take the necessary measures. May God grant success for the good of all, and may you remain successful.
