To the Honorable President of the Mosaic Community
Baghdad
After greetings and respect, Isaac Shaul Daoud Isaac Yehuda has the honor to inform you that the late Ezra Menachem Daniel, who left
his Miri properties as an inheritance to each of his relatives, is also one of our relatives. We inform our Master, the President of the Community, that our kinship is that the late
my grandfather Daoud Yehuda was the maternal cousin of the late Menachem Daniel. As for the name of Menachem Daniel's mother, it was Rahma, and the name of Daoud Yehuda's mother
was Hannah, as we believe. According to our information from the Baghdad Peace Judge, Mr. Burhan al-Din al-Kilani, we are entitled to the inheritance through this kinship.
Your Honor must know the exact names from the Rabbinate records on your side, because we left Iraq in 1930 and we still
hold Iraqi citizenship. We request you to register our name in the list with the claimants of the inheritance. To your position much thanks, and please accept
our highest respect, and may you remain.

To the respected Mr. Yaqub Shalamo
After greetings
Messrs. Yaqub and Ishaq, sons of Shaul Yehuda, residing in Beirut, sent us a letter dated 11 / 9 / 1952
In which they mentioned that they are relatives of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel, as their paternal grandfather, named Daoud Yehuda, is the son of the maternal aunt of the late
<del>⟦illegible⟧</del> Menachem Daniel. The aforementioned individuals have requested this presidency to investigate whether they are among those entitled to the right of transfer in the Miri lands
belonging to the late Ezra Menachem Daniel.
Therefore, we have decided to task you with investigating this matter and kindly informing us whether the aforementioned individuals are among those entitled to the right of
transfer in the Miri lands or not, so that we may inform them.
We have attached a ⟦copy⟧ of the two letters received from them to this letter for your review, requesting that you kindly return them after you are finished with them.

After greetings and peace, we had sent you a letter dated the 12th of this month regarding the inheritance of Miri lands, i.e., the private Tabu
belonging to the late Ezra Menachem Daniel, and we had mentioned in the aforementioned letter that Mr. Burhan al-Din al-Kilani had expressed an opinion that we have
a right in the matter in relation to our kinship to the aforementioned deceased. However, the fact is that Mr. Burhan al-Din al-Kilani did not express an opinion to us on
the matter because he does not fully know our case, and everything we wrote about that was a misunderstanding on our part through a friend who, it appeared, did not
contact Mr. Burhan al-Din al-Kilani, and the aforementioned gentleman did not express an opinion. Therefore, please investigate this matter for us and let us know if
we have the right to inherit from the Miri lands, and with many thanks, may you remain [in peace].

Subject: Request for female and male teachers for the Frank Iny School
Mr. ⟦...⟧
The Honorable Grand Rabbi
⟦...⟧ - Cairo
After greetings,
We ask your Eminence to kindly consider the following:
1- The movement to revoke Iraqi citizenship from the majority of the members of this community has greatly affected the status of the institutions
affiliated with the presidency of this community, including schools, hospitals, and other charitable committees, as their numbers have decreased and they are suffering from a shortage of
specialized employees to manage and operate them to achieve their purposes.
2- The presidency of this community is left with only one school consisting of the three levels: primary, intermediate, and preparatory (secondary)
combined. The community presidency was forced to make it co-educational due to the small number of remaining male and female students,
making it impossible to open a separate school for each of them.
3- Most of the female and male students of this school, known as the Frank Iny School, were formerly students of the Alliance schools, which
rely primarily on French language lessons in literature and science in their curriculum.
4- The French language positions in this school became vacant after the departure of Monsieur Dayan and Madame Dayan, the directors of the Alliance schools,
to France, and the departure of other female and male teachers specialized in teaching this subject through the revocation of citizenship to outside
Iraq.
5- We contacted the Alliance Association in Paris, requesting its assistance in providing female and male teachers specialized in teaching the French
language in this school, but the Association was unable, despite its efforts, to fulfill our request, nor did it succeed in filling the mentioned
vacancies with Iraqi female and male teachers.
6- Therefore, the presidency of this community decided to contact your Eminence, requesting your assistance in providing the required female and male teachers
for the positions indicated below to teach the following subjects:-
A- A female or male teacher holding a ⟦...⟧ Bachelor's degree in French literature and having experience in teaching in
secondary schools, who is prepared to prepare some of the school's female and male students to pass the (Certificat
d'Etudes Primaire) exam and others to pass the (Brevet Elementaire) exam
at least. It is preferred that they have sufficient readiness to teach French literature in the fourth preparatory classes
if necessary.
B- A female or male teacher holding a Bachelor's degree in French Science and Mathematics and having experience in teaching these subjects
in the French language in secondary schools, prepared to prepare some of the school's female and male students to pass an exam.

General Sciences ( Seienes haturells )
7- Therefore, this Presidency requests your Excellency to kindly assign those you rely on from the Rabbinate staff to contact the relevant
authorities to prepare the female and male teachers mentioned in the previous paragraph and kindly inform us of the salaries they request
and other conditions under which they agree to undertake the teaching mission in our school
And in view of the impossibility of granting an entry visa (visa) to Iraq to a person of the Mosaic faith, we request the selection of these teachers
from among non-Mosaics
8- I take this opportunity to salute the noble qualities embodied in your Excellency, and I specifically mention your love for helping and supporting charitable
and humanitarian institutions to achieve their goals arising from public interests; this is what encouraged me to write to your Excellency
requesting your assistance in this matter.
Before concluding this letter, we wish your Excellency good health and a long life, and we await your Excellency's reply;

Greetings,
With reference to your letter No. 1395/52/14 dated 29 / 10 / 1952;
Please note the following:-
1 - It appeared from your letter referred to above - as shown after auditing - that the car in question is number (( 10488 ))
Baghdad and belongs to the Preparation and Burial Society (Hevra Kadisha), which as you know is an independent society from the presidency of this community
affiliated with the Ministry of Interior according to the Law of Associations.
Accordingly, it has been confirmed that the delay in communications, whether written or telephonic, arose from an error by your company for not mentioning the car number in
all lists and letters sent by it or clarifying it in the ongoing telephone communications. Had your company mentioned the car number in its letters
or lists or clarified it in telephone communications, it would have been clear from the beginning that the car belongs to the Preparation and Burial Society, and the
matter would not have been prolonged, as you know that the car, as movable property, must be identified, and identifying the car is done
by mentioning its registered number in the Transport Department.
2 - It is not possible to inform you of the name of your employee whom the accountant of the Community Presidency contacted by telephone, given that the names of your employees are not mentioned next to
your company's telephone numbers listed in the telephone directory. With the confirmation that the mentioned accountant contacted one of your company's employees
by telephone on the dates (20 / 4 / 951, 29 / 4 / 952, and 18 / 5 / 952) as established by his notations at the bottom of the letters
and lists with his signature, and the mentioned accountant did not obtain from your company's employee more than the information contained in the lists.
3 - We very much regret the tone in which your letter referred to above was drafted, and given that the car (10488) Baghdad, which was
repaired and equipped with spare parts, belongs to the Preparation and Burial Society (Hevra Kadisha), the matter has become outside the
jurisdiction of this Presidency.
