Social Sciences
⟦line⟧
A - The following shall be taken into consideration when teaching social science subjects ⟦line⟧
1- Unifying the general objectives of the social sciences to adopt unified positions regarding internal
and external problems in the three educational stages in light of the republican system and the problems faced by
the Arab world from both internal and external aspects, with emphasis on solidarity between the peoples of
the Iraqi Republic within the liberated Arab group.
2- In teaching history, emphasis is placed on the humanistic perspective and the contribution of all peoples to the progress
of humanity, its prosperity, and the guarantee of world peace.
3- The necessity of discussing aggressive and colonial wars and conflicts as a result of the ruling class
in different countries for the benefit of those with influence and not for the benefit of the peoples.
4- Giving greater importance to civilizational and cultural history relative to political and military history.
5- Giving great importance to the efforts of peoples, general intellectual currents, and economic
and social factors, and not building history on prominent personalities independent of their societies.
6- In geography lessons, it is emphasized that many of the borders between different countries are artificial, especially in
Asia and Africa, and emphasis is also placed on the cooperation of peoples regarding economic exchange
and the distribution of wealth.
7- In teaching duties, emphasis is placed on forming a good Arab citizen in relation to the new situations
in the Arab countries in light of the republican system, a citizen who feels responsibilities and realizes his rights
and duties and performs them to the fullest extent.
8- The necessity of linking the social sciences to each other and to other sciences and not teaching them separately
from others.
9- Emphasis is placed on comparative history, meaning that the teacher should clarify similar historical events
and derive from this comparison a general idea or principle, such as comparing Napoleon's campaign against Russia
with Hitler's campaign against it and the tripartite aggression against Egypt.
B- The following amendments shall be made to the curricula and books of the social sciences.
Primary Education

and all internal liberation movements until the establishment of the Republic ⟦5⟧ on July 14 / 1958

⟦line⟧
1- The chapter on history and geography in the prescribed book is rewritten because it was a narration of names

numbers, names, and texts quoted literally from books.
