3 Recording the grades of the primary grades in register ⟦1⟧ and the teacher must submit
his signed grade lists to the class advisor, who in turn submits them to the administration
in unified signed lists.
4 It is not permissible to delay the announcement of results to parents after the first week of resuming studies
(mid-year exam) or after one week from the completion of the final exams.
5 Scraping, crossing out, or altering is absolutely not permitted, and if an oversight occurs in transferring grades,
it should be crossed out, written in red ink, and signed.
6 Grade registers for primary grades and monthly averages are specifically for turnover and delivery,
and the receiving director (successor) is considered responsible for any deficiencies unless he informs
the department of that.
7 Extracting the percentage of success for each class in the final exam.

of General Technical Affairs / Curricula, Books and Illustration Aids / and / Examinations / numbered 59055,
59657 and 59947 dated 20, 22 and 23 / 12 / 1958 respectively.
Please follow the following instructions with full precision.
First - Regarding primary schools only
1 - The number of weekly hours for regular primary schools ((non-double shift)) during
both shifts (winter and summer) shall be thirty (30) periods per week according to the lesson distribution schedule number
(1) attached herewith.
2 - The number of weekly periods for double-shift primary schools with themselves or others during the winter
shift shall be twenty-seven (27) periods according to schedule number (2) attached herewith.
3 - When the double-shift school attends (5) lessons in the morning, the school paired with it
or the second part of the double-shift school itself attends (4) lessons in the afternoon only.
4 - The school hours in all primary schools, whether double-shift or non-double-shift, shall be as follows:
A - Lesson duration is (40) minutes.
B - Break duration is (5) minutes except for the long break which shall be (15) minutes during the winter shift for schools
both double-shift and non-double-shift alike. The long break shall be after the third lesson when
the number of lessons is five, and after the second lesson when the number of lessons is four.
C - Morning inspection duration is (10) minutes for the morning shift and (5) minutes for the afternoon shift
in both double-shift and non-double-shift schools alike.
D - The period between the end of the shift in the first double-shift school with itself or others and the start
of the shift in the second school shall be (25) minutes during the winter shift.
E - Winter shift refers to the period from the opening of schools until March 31st, and summer shift refers to
school attendance starting from the morning of April (1st) until the end of the academic year.
F - Morning attendance during the winter shift in double-shift and non-double-shift schools begins with the morning
inspection starting from (8:20) AM.

5 - Based on the decision of the Council of Education No. (40) taken at its session held on
12/24/1958. We confirm our circular No. 37342 dated 11/26/1958 regarding the continuation
of double-shift schools for three days in the morning and three days in the evening, then vice versa. In the case of a
double-shift school operating with another school or by itself for (5) hours in the morning, the attendance of the
second part that attends in the evening shall be (4) hours only, and so on.
6 - All previous instructions related to attendance times in all primary schools are hereby canceled.
Second - Regarding preparatory (intermediate) and secondary (preparatory) schools only
1 - The duration of the lesson shall be (40) minutes and the duration of the break (5) minutes, except for the long break, which shall be (10)
minutes in all secondary and intermediate schools, whether they are double-shift or non-double-shift.
2 - The number of weekly periods in double-shift and non-double-shift schools is (33) hours, and it is absolutely not permitted
to complete them as (30) hours in double-shift schools with themselves or with others, as has been observed.
3 - When double-shift schools attend in the morning for (6) hours, the evening attendance shall be (5) hours, and vice versa.
4 - The previous system regarding examinations applies to all grades in secondary and intermediate education, except for
the first intermediate grade, for which the article contained in the Cultural Agreement applies, and the grades are distributed as follows:
A - The first semester average is calculated, which is the sum of the total averages for the first half, and its grade is
at a rate of 8 percent.
B - The mid-year exam, and its grade is at a rate of 14 percent.
C - The second semester average is calculated, which is the sum of the total averages for the second half, and its grade is
at a rate of 8 percent.
D - The end-of-year exam, its grade is at a rate of 70 percent.
5 - Based on the letter from the Secretariat of the Council of Education, Secret No. 20/2/3341 dated
12/4/1958, and in implementation of Article Four of the Charter of Arab Cultural Unity.
It was decided to make the study six years in the general preparatory stage, three years of which are for the
preparatory stage (formerly intermediate) and the other three years for the secondary stage (formerly preparatory), starting
from the first preparatory (intermediate) grade from this year, and continuing until secondary education becomes
six full years gradually.
6 - Based on the decision of the Council of Education No. (40) taken at its session held on
12/24/1958. Double-shift schools remain as they are in terms of alternating attendance (three days
in the morning and others in the evening), with the exception of special cases where the nature of the schools requires that
the attendance of the first part be continuous in the morning and the second part continuous in the evening. In such a case, it is necessary
to obtain our approval for that.
