TEMPORARY CONNECTIONS.
Temporary Telephones
1. Temporary connections to the telephone system may be made under the following conditions:—

These fees are collected for all telephones according to the actual

and the fittings still exist.

SCHEDULE II.
CONDITIONS
CONDITIONS.
(1) If the connection mentioned on the first page is not completed
within six months from the date of signing the contract, the subscriber may
demand the Director General of Posts and Telegraphs in writing to complete it within a period of
one month, otherwise the contract shall be considered terminated.

page is not made within 6 months of the date of
signature of the agreement, the subscriber may
require the Director-General of Posts and Tele-
graphs in writing to complete the same within one
month and in default the contract shall lapse.
(2) The Director General of Posts and Telegraphs shall install the apparatus mentioned
on the first page and work to maintain it in good condition (provided
that the subscriber complies with the articles and conditions
set forth herein). If a defect occurs in the apparatus, the Director
General of Posts and Telegraphs must carry out the necessary repairs and then return it as quickly
as possible, provided that the subscriber provides the necessary assistance for that. The Iraqi
Government has the right at any time after the expiration of the written notice period
provided by the Director General of Posts and Telegraphs to the subscriber to remove any
apparatus installed under this contract or to take possession of it if
it deems it necessary or appropriate to do so, provided that in
this case it pays the subscriber the share of the rent for the remaining period
of the contract.
2. The Director-General of Posts and Tele-
graphs shall erect and (subject to the observance
by the subscriber of all the clauses and conditions
herein contained) maintain in good working order
the apparatus referred to on the first page hereof,
and in the event of the apparatus not being in
good working order the Director-General of Posts
and Telegraphs shall repair and restore the same
with all possible despatch, and the subscriber shall
give all possible assistance for this purpose, but it
shall be lawful for the 'Iraq Government on the
expiration of 7 days' notice in writing from the
Director-General of Posts and Telegraphs, at any
time to remove and take possession of any apparatus
installed under this contract, should it consider it
necessary or advisable to do so, and in such cases
a proportionate part of the rent for the unexpired
period paid by the subscriber shall be refunded.
(3) The Iraqi Government shall not be liable for any loss
or damage arising from the interruption, stoppage, or obstruction of communications
for any reason whatsoever, nor shall it be liable for any loss or damage
arising from delay in establishing communications or reconnecting them.
3. The 'Iraq Government shall not be liable
for any loss or damage occasioned by the interrup-
tion or disturbance or stoppage of communication
from any cause whatsoever; nor shall it be liable
for any loss or damage occasioned by delay in
establishing or restoring communication.
(4) The subscriber must take full care of the telephone set
and all the fixtures and tools attached to it and not cause damage to it
or make any change or removal in it, nor allow it to be damaged or have
a change or removal made in it. He must also not make or cause to be made any
additions or changes to it, and not remove or cause the removal of any

TELEPHONE HIRING CONTRACT.
Telephone Hiring Contract
An agreement made between the Director-General
of Posts and Telegraphs on behalf of the 'Iraq
Government of the one part and ⟦line⟧ Head of the Jewish Community
This contract was concluded between the Director-General of Posts and Telegraphs on behalf
of the Iraqi Government as the first party and the Head of the Jewish Community
(hereinafter called the subscriber) of the other part.

1. The subscriber agrees to hire from the
Director-General of Posts and Telegraphs upon and
subject to the conditions set out herein, the apparatus
and lines detailed in the tariff Schedule annexed, for
the undermentioned term.
(1) The subscriber agrees, according to the conditions set out below, to
hire from the Director-General of Posts and Telegraphs the apparatus and lines
detailed in the attached tariff schedule for the period mentioned below.
2. This contract shall come into force as on the
date of signature thereto and shall continue for a
period of ⟦line⟧ from the day on
which connection is completed until terminated as
detailed in clause 6 below. Subject to condition
9, rent shall be payable from the date on which
connection is completed at the rates scheduled below
amounting to I.D. ⟦line⟧ per quarter together
with an installation fee of ⟦line⟧
(2) This contract shall be effective from the date of its signature
and shall remain in force for a period of one year starting from
the date of completion of the connection until termination as shown in Article Six
below. Subject to the ninth condition, the rent shall be paid
amounting to 2/000 Dinars every quarter, plus an
installation fee of 7/500, starting from the date of completion
of the connection according to the rates shown in the table below.
The installation fee and the first half year's
rent shall be payable by the subscriber in advance
and thereafter the rent shall be payable quarterly in
advance.
The subscriber shall pay the installation fees and half of the rent in advance
for the first year, and thereafter shall pay the rent every three
months in advance.
3. On receipt of a demand from the Director-
General of Posts and Telegraphs, for the sum specified
in clause (2) the subscriber shall pay forthwith the
said sum to the Director-General of Posts and Tele-
graphs through any postal official duly authorised by
him.
(3) As soon as the subscriber receives a request from the Director
General of Posts and Telegraphs regarding the payment of the amount specified in the second paragraph, he
shall proceed to pay the mentioned amount to the Director-General of Posts and Telegraphs
through any postal official authorized to do so.
Through communication will not be given until
the first payment is actually received, in those cases
where payment in advance is necessary.
A direct connection will not be provided before the first installment is received
in cases where advance payment is mandatory.
4. Should the subscriber cancel this contract
on a date prior to the completion of the connection he
shall be liable for the actual expenses incurred up
to that date.
(4) If the subscriber wishes to cancel this contract at any time before
the completion of the connection, he shall be liable to pay the expenses incurred up to that
date.
5. The subscriber agrees to abide by and
conform to the conditions set out hereunder in
Schedule II.
(5) The subscriber agrees to follow the conditions set out below
in the second schedule and to act in accordance with what is stated in these conditions.
6. After the expiry of 6 months this contract
may be terminated by either party by giving to the
other at least 7 days' notice in writing and in the
event of the subscriber failing to give seven days'
notice he shall be liable in lieu thereof for seven days'
rent (calculated at the annual rate).
(6) Both parties have the right to terminate this contract after
the lapse of six months by giving the other party a written notice of
at least seven days.

Payments.—Accounts shall be rendered monthly, and should payment at any time be more than 15 days in arrears the Company reserve the right, after giving 48 hours' notice in writing, to discontinue the supply of current until the amount owing has been paid together with a fee of 380 fils for reconnecting. In the event of any Consumer wishing to discontinue taking a supply he must give 3 days' notice in writing to the Company, and, until the expiration of this notice, he will be responsible for any current consumed on the premises whether he may have ceased to occupy the premises or not.
