27 / 4 / 1953, please note the following: -
1 - Not all the requests mentioned in the letter of the Central Telephone Directorate in Baghdad numbered T 1 / 186 / 4805 and dated
14 / 4 / 1953 belong to the leadership of this community, and some of these lists have been objected to with the
aforementioned Directorate, and the objection has not been decided upon until now.
2 - Since we will immediately fulfill the requests that must be fulfilled by this leadership, and we will fulfill the suspended lists
after the objections are decided upon, we have also instructed the Hospitals Committee to fulfill their telephone lists.
3 - Attached is a copy of our letter numbered T / 200 / 53 dated 29 / 4 / 1953 sent to the Central Telephone Directorate
in Baghdad.
Therefore, we kindly request you to instruct the Central Telephone Directorate not to disconnect the four telephone lines belonging

After greetings,
With reference to your letter numbered T/40083/251/1135 dated 4/11/1953, which we were notified of
on 5/11/1953; we request Your Excellency to note the following:-
1 - Telephone No. 6146:-
This telephone was installed in the Mir Tuwayq School, where it was used by the employees of the Directorate of Travel Police
and Nationality, and the Presidency of the Community has no connection to it. This Presidency has previously informed the Central Telephone Directorate
of this via its letter numbered 51/2085 dated 24/8/1951 (we attach a copy of this letter for
Your Excellency's information); therefore, the Presidency of the Community is not responsible in this case for the telephone fees related to the
aforementioned telephone. As for the extension of the mentioned telephone which was installed in the playground, it was removed on 1/6/1951
and we informed the Central Telephone Directorate of this via our two letters numbered 51/2166 and 52/2628 dated
27/11/1951 and 16/7/1952.
2 - Telephone No. 85085:-
This telephone was installed in the Rachel Shahmoon Primary School for Boys; and since this school was
closed around the month of May 1951, the telephone was removed upon the school's closure (while the school administration was still
present). The Presidency of the Community informed the Central Telephone Directorate via letter numbered T/52/2806 dated
6/11/1952, and requested a review of this when calculating the fees.
3 - As for the telephone fees of the Private Intermediate School for Girls, amounting to 29/355 Dinars, this Presidency
will pay them to the Central Telephone Directorate during this week.
4 - Regarding the remaining amount owed by the Committee of Jewish Hospitals for the telephone fees of Meir Elias Hospital, amounting to
126/701 Dinars; in view of the control over the hospital by the esteemed Ministry of Health, which led
to the suspension of the mentioned hospital's operations; this Presidency will settle the mentioned amount from the rent of the
hospital buildings, which the Ministry of Health will pay in the coming days.
Therefore, we request you to kindly instruct not to disconnect the telephones of this Presidency until Your Excellency can note what we have stated.
