His Excellency the President of the respected Lay Council
Baghdad
Presented to your Excellency:
I, Cohen Sassoon Wasfi, have served the Jewish community in Baghdad
for a period exceeding thirty years, during which I received my salaries from the Jewish community fund
in Baghdad. For nearly three years, I was transferred to the staff of the venerable Ministry of Justice
where I work as a process server in the Jewish Community Court in Baghdad. And
during my time of employment, I have come to have a large family for whom I provide. It is not hidden from
your esteemed eminence ⟦...⟧ my previous service with honesty and sincerity throughout
this long period of years and gaining your satisfaction. In view of the arrival of my travel date
and my obligation to leave the service in which I spent my life, and my urgent need to prepare
myself and my large family for travel, especially since my son is still a prisoner and he
must serve the remainder of his sentence, which is a year and a half. In light of what
has been presented and based on the difficult circumstances that I am going through now with bitterness, which is not hidden
from your esteemed council, please consider my situation and my lack of means. Therefore, I beg for your sympathy
and to present this case of mine to your esteemed council to assist me in this regard.
To your Excellency and your respected council, my sincere thanks and gratitude.
