His Excellency the Chairman of the Administrative Committee

Greetings and respect,
With reference to your letter dated 12/24/1953 and numbered 5/5/953,
We have reviewed the (13) pieces of endowment deeds sent to us, which are required to be studied

their importance. Therefore, we agree that our fees shall be ten dinars, five dinars for each of us
for each endowment of these (13) endowments and the other endowments required to be studied, provided that <del>⟦illegible⟧</del>
the fees of the great professor Daoud Samra are paid to him separately and by his agreement with your respected committee.
Accordingly, please order the payment of the fee to us in the manner explained so that we may proceed with the work.

Subject: — Report on the results of my contacts with Mr. Saleh Shlomo regarding the accounts
of the endowments of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel for the period from the date of the death of the previous trustee
until the rent of each of them.
To —
His Excellency the Respected President of the Lay Council
Greetings,
With reference to your letter No. C / 864 dated 15 / 6 / 1952 addressed to Mr. Saleh Shlomo,
a copy of which was sent to me, and your administrative order No. C / 865 dated 15 / 6 / 1952.
— 1 — According to the authorization of your council to me, I have reviewed the rental accounts of the endowments of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel with Mr. Saleh
Shlomo, for the period from the date of the death of the previous trustee on 3 / 3 / 1952 until the maturity of each of them, considering that all contracts
of those rentals are signed by him and the promissory notes are issued to his order. Mr. Saleh Shlomo's claim to the amounts of those rentals
is based on the first paragraph of the endowment deed of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel issued by the Personal Status Court under number
33 / 45 dated 25 / 2 / 1945, which states the following: —
(( The ownership of the endowment's yield in its entirety shall be exclusively mine as long as I am alive, and I have the right to enjoy and dispose of it in the manner I see ))
(( appropriate in an absolute manner and without restriction or condition. ))
— 2 — Pursuant to the letter from the Presidency of the Lay Council No. C / 922 dated 4 / 8 / 1952, you sent to Mr. Saleh
Shlomo lists of the amounts of those rentals, of which the Lay Council's share amounted to 953 / 5542 Dinars, and you requested in that
letter the details of the promissory notes and liabilities held by him for the mentioned period as detailed in the aforementioned letter, and you also requested
confirmation of the accuracy of that account.
— 3 — However, Mr. Saleh Shlomo, despite your confirmation of that letter and your warning to him through the Notary Public, did not send any reply.
— 4 — Mr. Saleh Shlomo subsequently informed me that he had instructed Mr. Edward Shashoua (the private clerk of the late Ezra
Menachem Daniel) to extract the accounts of those rentals, considering that Mr. Edward is well-acquainted with the details of this matter
very well.
— 5 — Mr. Edward Shashoua has prepared those accounts and submitted them in full to Mr. Saleh Shlomo, as Mr. Edward informed me
of that.
— 6 — Accordingly, I began contacting Mr. Saleh Shlomo, and he confirmed to me that the accounts are now in his possession and he will submit them to the community, after submitting
the accounts of the endowments of the late Heskel Menachem.
— 7 — Indeed, Mr. Saleh Shlomo sent the accounts of the endowments of the late Heskel Menachem (for the post-death period only) attached to his letter dated
17 / 12 / 1952.
— 8 — Mr. Saleh Shlomo informed me of his desire to settle the accounts of the endowments of the late Ezra Menachem with the community, and I am waiting
for the submission of those accounts.

Rada - You have demanded from Mr. Saleh Shlomo the sum of 5,542,953 dinars according to the lists attached to the aforementioned letter, regarding the accounts of the three markets, and since Mr. Saleh Shlomo has bills of exchange on the tenants of the shops of the third market that he did not collect from their owners due to their vacating those shops at the end of the first year of rent and leaving them in the second year, then the requested account is from the amount of 5,542,953 dinars, the total of the lists of the three markets, the license of the lover of the family, Egypt, stages 504 with the work of the Al-Ka Al-Lubi, the first of what is similar to this, this is the house of Dawa to the secret cable, the cell, the sterilization on the enamel, the king’s shops and his workers, but on it there are interests for me by God, the son of the judge, nights 3810 uncollected bills of exchange for all shares of the shops, and since the endowment of Menachem Saleh is 297 shares out of 504, then the amount due from him from this amount is 2349 730 17 • 270 4082 683 207 The share of the physical council • The amount that must be collected as a result of these calculations. 10 - According to my information that I studied from all aspects and the discussions that I conducted with Mr. Saleh Shlomo and what I learned from the origins of the rents of those endowments at that time as stated above, the amount of 4082/683 dinars must be collected in full as stated above, unless there is a difference as a result of applying the calculations. • 11 - No renovations have been made except for some simple repairs in the shops of the three markets, as they are all in good condition, and will not need any renovations during the next ten years. Therefore, I ask your Excellency to kindly invite me to discuss this matter with the esteemed General Council, as mentioned above, and to inform them of the progress of the rental transactions for these endowments at the time by Mr. Saleh Shlomo. To the Honorable and Distinguished Mr. Saleh Shlomo, Respectfully
Greetings,
In response to your letter dated 1/19/1954, we confirm what was stated in the letter of the Presidency of the Lay Council
dated 7/4/1952, which clarified that the lease contracts for the endowments of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel were
signed by you in your capacity as the trustee of the endowments of the late Menachem Saleh Daniel, regarding the share of the latter endowment
amounting to 297 shares out of a total of 504 shares, as well as regarding the share of the late Ezra Daniel's endowments amounting to 207
shares out of a total of 504 shares. Note that the rental amounts for both aforementioned endowments were merged,
and you received the advance payments at the time and they were credited to you, while the remainder is under promissory notes to your order as detailed
in those contracts signed by you.
In view of the responsibility of this committee and your responsibility at the same time, it is very surprising that you
approached the administrative agent for the heirs of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel, as it is known that the said agent was appointed about
four months ago as an agent for the affairs of Khedhouri and Selim Sassoon Daniel and has no connection to this endowment.
Rather, the claim should be made against you and no one else. We had written to you about this matter on 7/4/1952, requesting
the submission of a list supported by details and figures, and not just a request for an account.
This committee requests that those lists be sent as quickly as possible along with the amounts belonging to the said endowment.
As we explained to you in detail in our letter dated 7/4/1954, we hope to receive the answer as quickly as possible.
As for your statement that after the death of the late Ezra Menachem Daniel you leased one shop for six months and made
some adjustments to four shops that were leased to Mr. Muwaffaq Hamid, whose rent became due on
30 Safar 1373 AH, and three shops leased to Messrs. Zaki and Ahmed Al-Kilani, whose rent was due on
4 Jumada al-Awwal 1373 AH, we inform you that we have no information regarding these matters, nor did you mention in your letter
whether you have received their amounts or not.
Please send us the amended contract papers and inform us of the details of the mentioned amendments,
the amounts you received from them, and what remains owed by them to the endowment. If we do not receive these details from you by the end of the
current month, we will be forced to resort to legal measures against the tenants.
Please accept our highest respect.

in 1944, real estate located in the cities of Baghdad and Basra, and he had appointed for their management by general power of attorney -
as we believe - both Mr. Yaqub Munshi Khamara and the attorney Salman Muhammad Al-Ibrahim, residing
in the city of Basra.
We hope to confirm - from this aspect - by inquiring with the Land Registry Directorates in the cities of Basra and Baghdad.
With our highest respect to you,
