Mosul 17 / 10 / 1950
The Honorable Mr. Salim Khabbaza, Respected
After greetings and much respect and longing, and with reference to your letter dated 15 / 10
regarding the case of the prohibition of Akram Hayyim, I had telegraphed you yesterday
to call me from telephone number 627 at ten o'clock on the day to discuss with you
this case, and I remained waiting until 12:00 even though I was
busy outside, and you did not contact me and I do not know the reason?
So I explain to you the situation, that the department specialized in issuing the prohibition or its absence
is the Travel Officer's department, and I had obtained for you the necessary letter from the
aforementioned department of jurisdiction, and there is no longer a need for another letter from the Execution Department.
In order to facilitate the acceleration of the case, I had sent you the political
budget with the letter addressed to the Presidency of Execution in Mosul, as there was no longer a need
to rely on the letter from the Travel Department, and we sent it to you at the exact hour
since this letter is what is required and is sufficient for the purpose because it is issued by the department
of jurisdiction. Notwithstanding that, if you are in need of a letter from the Execution
of Mosul, I am ready to obtain it for you after you clarify your opinion on it
instead of what was submitted from it, and send it to me so I can perform the necessary work.
In conclusion, I wish you health and success.
May you remain in respect.

The honorable Professor Mr. Salim Khayara, respected
After greetings and much longing, wishing you happiness and success
I received your letter dated ⟦1/1⟧. According to your request, we obtained a letter
from the Travel and Residence Officer's Department in Mosul under number 10715
⟦10/1/952⟧
regarding the non-prohibition of travel for ⟦Menash Aswad Hayim⟧ after we endured many
hardships, as it is not easily possible to grant the non-prohibition without
the person concerned appearing in person, and after we overcame that, we did not have
a plan to obtain the non-prohibition letter, so we cut the
stamp from one of the letters sent by you and pasted it on this
letter sent to the Directorate of Travel and Residence, whose
date and number are mentioned above, and all of this was to facilitate your request
as you are very dear to us and this request of yours was but a simple matter
and we are at your service and wish you health and success, my dear,

The Honorable Professor Salim Jannat, Respectfully
Secretary of the Administration of the Israelite Community in Baghdad
After greetings and much respect. I received your letter dated October 18
Thursday before noon, and I immediately left all work and went to the Passport Department
I understood the necessity of bringing the person named Kaddouri by all means, and after searching for him we were able
to find him on Friday, and we made an appointment with him and brought him with us for the presentation yesterday
And when showing the photograph to the inspector ⟦Kahrajim⟧, he replied that he resembles the debtor
instead of saying it is not him! And he requested the presence of the debtor, while the original debtor fled
from one place to another, and finally, with the help of some friends, we were able to convince him
with one dinar as a fee for his disruption, in addition to (750) fils for transportation fees
and incidental expenses. Upon questioning him again, he said that the debtor is from Mosul
while the owner of the photograph is from Baghdad and has no connection to him. And this process
ended at the end of working hours, and the letter was written and remained before the President for signature
And today we took it, and you will find it enclosed, paper No. 1/5/1164 on 10/20/1950
We hope you will kindly inform us of its arrival, hoping that we have performed our duty
We are at your command and service, and we ask the Almighty Creator to grant you success
and bless you with health and happiness, and may you remain in glory and honor
Sincerely

Be my wife according to the law of Moses and Israel, and I, with the help of the Almighty, will work, aid, honor, respect,

which she brought from her father's house: cash of three hundred Ottoman gold liras, and a trousseau in the amount of 1500 Ottoman liras,
and the aforementioned debts in the amount of 500 Ottoman gold liras ⟦illegible⟧

of the currency current here in Baghdad, which is under the rule of His Majesty our Lord the King ⟦illegible⟧ may his
glory be exalted. And he accepted all of it and received it, and it became in his possession, and he accepted it upon himself as a debt and a loan. And thus said
the aforementioned groom to us: that the value of this Ketubah in its entirety—the original, the dowry, and the addition—with all the remaining conditions
of the Ketubah, I have accepted upon myself and upon my heirs after me, upon all my property, real estate and cash belonging to me
under all the heavens, of what I have acquired and shall acquire, of movable property and real estate, all of it is pledged and secured to fulfill this
Ketubah in its entirety—the original, the dowry, and the addition—so that it may be collected from them during my life and after me, even from the clothes

I wish to inform you, I was told by the person in charge of guarding who
works as a laborer in the Sabah Hindi brick factory and resides opposite the old
Jewish cemetery, and he stated that both Haidar and Alwan, the cemetery guards
who receive a monthly salary from the community fund for guarding the cemetery,
have removed the iron fence in the Karantina cemetery, the triangle piece from its corners,
and sold it to Karrada for the sum of fifty dinars, and it is the property of the community.
They also removed some of the iron beams placed in the cemetery room
adjacent to Al-Balawi Hospital and placed them in the location of the iron fence
which they sold. They also broke the lock of the room surrounding the grave of the late
Dr. Max Krobag and began using the aforementioned room
