Regarding the letter we sent to you concerning the authorization of Mr. Medhi Ephraim Cohen to take over
the affairs and accounts of the Jewish community in Amarah and to carry them out in the fullest manner
and until now we have not received a reply to our letter, and according to my telephone conversation with Mr. Shaul
I informed him to reply to our letter, and therefore I repeat to you, please be so kind as to hasten the sending of
the requested letter as quickly as possible, as well as authorizing Medhi Ephraim Cohen to renew the school lease

in Baghdad, and that the administration does not object to accepting the renewal of the school lease contract in his name instead of

I, the undersigned, Rabbi Sassoon Khedhouri, in my capacity as the Acting President of the Jewish Community in Baghdad,
and in addition to my position, have appointed on my behalf the lawyer Mr. Jamil Matloub for the three lawsuits filed
in the Baghdad Court of First Instance against the presidency of the aforementioned community. The first filed by Zainab Ali and her associates, numbered
1450 of the year 1953, regarding the collection of (250) dinars. The second filed by Reda Ali and his associates,
numbered 1451 of the year 1953, regarding the collection of (200) dinars. And the third filed by Karim Qanbar
and his associates, numbered 1452 of the year 1953, regarding the collection of (220) dinars. I have authorized the aforementioned lawyer
to enter the said lawsuits on my behalf, to plead and defend, to present evidence, and to submit petitions and briefs
under his signature, to receive and serve notices, to select and dismiss experts, and to execute the judgments that will be issued in the said lawsuits
in all enforcement departments, to request the placement and lifting of enforcement seizures, to reach settlements with the judgment debtor, to request his imprisonment
and release, and to receive and collect attorney fees and expenses awarded to me in the said lawsuits. In conclusion, I have
appointed the aforementioned lawyer to exercise and use all powers granted to me by law and Sharia for the purpose of protecting
and defending the rights of the Presidency of the Jewish Community in Baghdad related to the lawsuits mentioned above until the final stages,
including first instance, objection, appeal, cassation, retrial, and correction. For clarification, this power of attorney was issued in Baghdad
March 6, 1954.
