Secondary School System No. (60) of 1968, as amended by the
Amendment to the Secondary School System No. (63) of 1969 regarding absences
from school states the following: -
"The full attendance grade is considered one hundred each year, and two points are deducted from
attendance marks for each day the student is absent without a legitimate excuse, and the student's absence for every four
separate lessons is considered equivalent to one day's absence from school, and the student is considered failing in
their grade if fifty-one points or more are deducted from their attendance, provided that their guardian is notified
when ten points or more are deducted and is questioned about the reasons for absence, and the student may not
participate in the final examination if their absences exceed forty-five school
days regardless of the excuses."
