Honorable President of the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews
Greetings.
The Schools Committee previously decided in its session held on 26 / 1 / 1959 to task
the administration of this school to search for (two) English language teachers to fill the vacancies
in the school for the academic year starting on 1 / October / 1959, with approval for
the necessary expenses for advertising in newspapers in England and the travel costs for candidates
for this purpose during their interviews, etc... Since Mr. Naim Amber, currently residing in
London, volunteered to undertake the task of advertising for the teachers, interviewing them, etc., and based on
the expenses and efforts this required for a period of about six months during which he advertised for the teachers
and interviewed them and paid their travel expenses and other costs, necessitating an expenditure estimated at about two hundred Dinars,
therefore, I request approval to disburse this amount to the aforementioned person, in the sum of (-/200) two hundred
Dinars as reimbursement for the expenses he paid out of his own pocket while performing this task,
and in appreciation of his services. Please note that his efforts resulted in the employment of Mrs. Marjorie
Lucile, whose appointment we previously requested in our letter No. F/262 dated

His Excellency, Chairman of the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews - Baghdad
Greetings.
In view of the difficulties faced by the administrations of Frank Iny and Shamash schools in obtaining the services of foreign teachers to teach English and French, due to their unavailability inside Iraq, and considering that the school administration is often forced to hire these teachers from outside Iraq, and in order to incentivize these teachers and facilitate their arrival in Iraq to teach in our schools, the Schools Committee deems it very necessary to prepare small housing units for foreign teachers, given the difficulty of obtaining housing at rental rates proportional to the salaries paid by the school to foreign teachers.
Accordingly, our committee suggests the formation of a sub-committee to study this matter urgently to discuss the possibility of building suitable housing units, either on the plot of land adjacent to the Frank Iny school playground, or in the Ezra Menahem Daniel playground, or on other lands belonging to the community. This is to ensure the recruitment of foreign teachers from abroad in a timely manner whenever the need for their services arises, and to guarantee the interest of our schools' students.
Please accept our highest respect.

To the Honorable Chairman of the Administrative Committee
Greetings,
The petition - it is not hidden from you that since my appointment in this department, which was on May 26, 1953
I have not received any promotion whatsoever - bearing in mind that the salary allocated to us by the previous committee
amounting to 50 dinars was allocated to me on a temporary basis - on the condition that it be increased in the future, as
our predecessor, the late ⟦Avenabir⟧, used to receive for the work a percentage of seventeen
meaning the total of what he received monthly was approximately ⟦120/140⟧ dinars, and now despite the passage of
approximately two years of my service, I have not received any promotion whatsoever, and therefore I hope you will consider
the matter of my promotion according to your knowledge of the continuous high cost of living in the country and to grant
my requests, and we thank you in advance.
