Special conditions related to the construction of
the cemetery fencing and its annexes
1) Earthworks:
A - Excavation according to the depths shown in the drawings, and the removal and transport of debris outside the work site to locations
specified by the Secretariat of the Capital.
B - Backfilling and compacting with soil free of salt crust, organic matter, and dirt.
C - Brick pitching (soling) using baked bricks with a thickness of 10 cm under foundations and floors with compacting.
2) Concrete works:
A - Reinforced concrete for columns and walls; reinforcement shall be according to drawings and details. Concrete casting ratio 1:2:4
and vibrators must be used during casting.
B - Plain unreinforced concrete for foundations 1:3:6 with a thickness of 30 cm.
3) Masonry works:
Masonry shall be with cement and sand mortar at a ratio of 1:4. Baked bricks must be soaked in water according to the instructions of
the engineer, without using broken bricks. Courses must be aligned and joints must be staggered according to the requirements
of good bonding.
It is not permitted to walk on the walls during construction; rather, special scaffolding must be used for construction.
4) Gravel: It must be clean and its size must not exceed half a knot.
5) Sand: It must be clean and free of salts and other organic materials. River sand may not be used at all

10 — Materials

prices, and the contractor alone shall be responsible for all materials and tools at the work site
and shall be responsible for every theft or shortage that occurs therein, noting that all materials
at the work site are considered the property of the Presidency of the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews
until the completion of the work, and the contractor has no right to remove them or dispose of them except with the
written approval of the Administrative Committee.
11 — Dismissal of the Contractor's Employees

The engineer has full authority to request the contractor to dismiss or exclude anyone from
his employees whom the community deems undesirable or unfit to continue in the work, and the
contractor must implement those requests as soon as they are issued, and he has no right to claim any compensation
or indemnity that may result from that in any form whatsoever.
12 — Advances

4 - Construction with brick and cement
⟦line⟧
The bricks shall be of the hard-burnt type
and the construction shall be carried out with cement mortar and
Habbaniya sand in a ratio of 1:4. It is not permitted to use
broken or used bricks. The hard-burnt bricks must be
submerged in water before construction
for a sufficient period of no less than six hours, and all
vertical and horizontal joints must be filled
with cement mortar. The process of spraying the walls with water
shall continue for a period of no less than seven days.
The price includes everything mentioned above in a
perfect and good manner. (The community engineer
has the right to reject any part of the construction
that he does not see as conforming to technical conditions
or due to it containing salts).
5 - Silocrete damp-proof course concrete
with a thickness of 3 inches for the walls.
⟦line⟧
The mixing ratio shall be 1:2:4 of cement,
Habbaniya sand, and washed river gravel
of graded size from
3/4 and below. The ratio of
Silocrete shall be 1:10 of the amount of water
required to make the concrete. The price includes
the necessary wooden formwork.
6 - Silocrete damp-proof plastering
with a thickness of 1" for the walls.

The mixture ratio shall be 1:3 of cement
and Habbaniya sand, and the Silocrete ratio shall be
1:8 of the amount of water required for the mixture

The level of this damp-proof course is located
at a height of five courses above the first concrete
damp-proof course ⟦and the construction⟧ between the first damp layer
and the second shall be construction with cement at a ratio of 1 = 4
- 7 - Pouring concrete under the tiles with a thickness of 5 cm.

The concrete shall be at a ratio of 1 = 3 = 6 cement
from Habbaniya sand and river gravel
and the concrete shall be mixed with Silocrete
as stated in Item ( 5 ).
- 8 - Brick and gypsum construction
⟦line⟧
The bricks shall be of the white type
produced by the Building Materials Company
or from any company chosen by
the engineer, provided that the bricks are
of the best types available in
the markets, and the gypsum shall be freshly burnt
and produced by mechanical factories.
The engineer has the right to reject the gypsum
if he deems it is not of excellent quality,
and likewise if it becomes clear to the supervising engineer
on behalf of the community that a portion of the gypsum
has been damaged as a result of that, then
the contractor must remove it from the work site
and not use it for any purpose
of the construction purposes.
- 9 - Backfilling works for floors with soil
⟦line⟧
Backfilling operations are carried out in layers with a thickness
not exceeding 20 cm and are well compacted.
