1 | Earth excavations for foundations
Excavations shall be according to what is stated in
the maps and shall be vertical and the edges
and sides straight and the bottom of the excavation level
and balanced. The soil resulting from the excavation shall be removed
outside the construction site, and if the contractor exceeds
the works indicated in the plan without the approval of
the engineer - in writing - he must backfill
the excess excavations with concrete
1 = 3 = 6 at his own expense.
2 | Paving works with broken bricks
The broken bricks shall be of the hard vitrified type
with a thickness of 12 cm. The price includes
the process of pounding with iron rammers
well, spraying with water, and grouting
with cement mortar in a ratio of 1 - 10.
3 | Unreinforced concrete works for foundations
The concrete ratio shall be 1 = 3 = 6 of
cement, Habbaniyah sand, and washed river gravel
rounded, size 1 1/2 inch
and below, and the sand must be from
Lake Habbaniyah sources, and it is not permitted to use
river sand at all for any purpose
of construction purposes except with the approval of the engineer.

4   Construction with brick and cement

The bricks shall be of the hard-burnt type
and the construction shall be done with cement mortar and Habbaniya
sand in a ratio of 1:4. It is not permitted to use
broken or used bricks. The hard-burnt bricks
must be soaked in water before construction
for a sufficient period of no less than six hours, and all
vertical and horizontal joints must be filled
with cement mortar. The process of spraying the walls
with water shall continue for a period of no less than seven days.
The price includes everything mentioned above in a
masterful and good manner. (The Sect's engineer
has the right to reject any part of the construction
that he does not see as conforming to technical conditions
or due to it containing salts).
5 - Damp-proof course concrete with Sealocrete
with a thickness of 3 inches for the walls.

The mixing ratio shall be 1:2:4 of cement,
Habbaniya sand, and washed river gravel
graded in size from
3/4 and below. The ratio of
Sealocrete shall be 1:10 of the amount of water
required to make the concrete. The price includes
the necessary wooden formwork.
6 - Damp-proof plaster with Sealocrete
with a thickness of 1" for the walls.

Follow-up to Item - 6 -
The level of this damp-proof course is located
at a height of five courses above the first concrete
damp-proof course, and the masonry between the first
and second damp-proof courses shall be cement masonry in a 1:4 ratio.
- 7 Pouring concrete under the tiles with a thickness of 5 cm.
The concrete shall be in a ratio of 1:3:6 cement
from Habbaniyah sand and river gravel,
and the concrete shall be mixed with Silocrete
as stated in Item ( 5 ).
- 8 Brick and gypsum masonry.
The bricks shall be of the white type
produced by the Construction Materials Company
or from any company selected by
the engineer, provided the bricks are
of the best types available in the
markets, and the gypsum must be freshly burnt
and produced by mechanical plants.
The engineer has the right to reject the gypsum
if he considers it is not of excellent quality,
likewise if it becomes clear to the supervising engineer
on behalf of the community that a part of the gypsum
has been damaged as a result of that, then
the contractor must remove it from the work site
and not use it for any purpose
of the construction purposes.
- 9 Earth filling works for floors.
Filling operations are carried out in layers whose thickness
does not exceed 20 cm. They must be well compacted.

The best types of local bitumen, and an amount of
10 percent of liquid bitumen shall be added
during the heating of the bitumen. It is not permitted to use
black oil at all in the bitumen, noting that
the bitumen layers on the surfaces must overlap by 4 cm.

13 - Gypsum Plastering for Interior Walls

The joints between the bricks are first cleaned well,
then plastered with fermented gypsum
of excellent quality in a layer not less than 1/2
inch thick, provided that the gypsum is from the
Qanbar Ali mine or the Iraqi Building Materials
Company... first class... and the final

level, and the corners regularly rounded.
