Frank Iny School and Shamash Secondary School
Student Registration for the Academic Year 1962 / 1963
The administration of Frank Iny and Shamash schools announces that student registration will take place during the period
starting Tuesday, October 9, 1962, and ending Friday,
the 12th of the same month. All new and returning students must proceed to register during this period
while observing the following: -
First - The school administration cannot guarantee places for students who are late in their registration
beyond this date, whether they are new or returning students.
Second - Any student who is late for registration by the date
stipulated above will be deprived of school fee exemptions, whether their exemption last year was total or partial.
Third - Upon registration, the student shall pay the first installment of the prescribed school fees in addition
to the extracurricular activity fees as usual.
Fourth - Any student who delays paying the first installment of school fees beyond the registration date
specified above (i.e., Friday, October 12, 1962) without compelling reasons
convincing to the administration, shall be obliged to pay an additional amount on top of their prescribed
school fees, should they be accepted into this school after the aforementioned registration date.
Fifth - Every student wishing to enroll in the first intermediate grade in all its branches or in
the fourth preparatory grade must bring three copies of their photograph along with
a fifty-fils revenue stamp, their or their family's non-exploitation ID, their
civil status book, and the full address of their residence and their guardian's place of work. The same applies
to every new student wishing to enroll in any other grade.
Sixth - Any student wishing to subscribe to the student transport buses must pay,
in addition to their school fees, an amount of four dinars as a first installment if their
place of residence is in areas near the school, and five dinars if their place of residence is on
Al-Rashid Street, Al-Kifah Street, or in Karrada, as was arranged last year. This is
with the understanding that the school administration will not be responsible for making the necessary arrangements
for the student's means of transport if they are late in paying the bus fees after the end of the registration period.
Seventh - If a student is late for registration within the deadline set by the Ministry of Education, they will not be
accepted into the school after that date at all.

intermediate grade as was practiced last year.
Furthermore, in a desire to provide an opportunity for excellent students among the primary school graduates of the summer
of 1962 to enroll at the beginning of the school year in the French branch of the first intermediate grade,
and in view of what this branch requires in terms of a strong foundation in other subjects, especially in Arithmetic
and English, in addition to the French language, the administration of this school has decided
to conduct special examinations to select students for the French branch and other branches on the following dates:
Tuesday, October 2, 1962 - from 8:00 to 10:00 AM - Examination
in the English language.
Tuesday, October 2, 1962 from 10:30 to 12:00 - Examination in Arithmetic.
Wednesday, October 3, 1962 from 8:00 to 10:00 AM - Examination in the French language.

1- Ladies, misses, gentlemen, good morning.
2- Our school takes pride today in this honorable ceremony to distribute school prizes to the outstanding students
in their lessons for this academic year. As we welcome the honorable visitors, we are proud to present
to them our prize-winning students as they make their way to the podium.
3- Our dear students, the prize winners, are requested to greet their honorable audience.
4- Honorable guests, our school takes pride in this elite group of students, who are the subject of its pride
and the good fruit of its efforts, their chests adorned with medals; among them is the first, and among them are the top ones,
and among them are those who won the Medal of Commendation and the Medals of Honor, Excellence, and Distinction.
5- We begin our ceremony with the Republican Anthem... the Republican Anthem...
6- Prize-winning students are requested to take the seats prepared for them.
7- Professor Abdullah Oweidia will now kindly deliver his speech.
8- Ladies, misses, gentlemen...
We have previously referred to the various prizes and medals worn by those who deserve them. There is the
Commendation Prize, which is awarded to the student who wins prizes in three consecutive years or more. And there is
the Honor Prize, which is awarded to the student who wins three or more prizes in one year. And the
Excellence Prize, which is awarded to those who excel over the students of their class in the results of the general ministerial exams
(Baccalaureates) such that they are among the top three students in Iraq... or for those who achieve first place
among their classmates in school exams, general exams, or special exams in
three consecutive exams during the intermediate and preparatory study stages... and there is also
the Distinction Prize, which is awarded to the student who wins the Honor or Excellence prizes in three consecutive years.
Fifteen of our students deserved the Commendation Prize this year. Four students deserved the
Honor Prize. Six students also deserved the Excellence Prize. And two students deserved the Distinction Prize.
9- And now, the head of the community, His Eminence Rabbi Sassoon Khedhouri, is requested to kindly come to the stage to distribute
the prizes to those who deserve them. Professor Abdullah Oweidia is also requested to kindly come to the stage
to congratulate the students on that.
