Endowment Deed: According to the endowment deed issued by the Baghdad Sharia Court on 10 Rabi' al-Awwal 1332, numbered 921, and certified by the Ministry of Justice on March 22, 1925.
Guardianship and Endower's Conditions
The endower Saleh Eliyahu Shlomo Daoud has endowed the property described above according to the following conditions:
1 - The trustee must lease the aforementioned endowment year by year at a market rate. After its restoration and repair from the rental proceeds, the surplus yield shall be given to the Board of Directors of the Meir Eliyahu Hospital located outside Bab al-Adhamiya to be spent on the needs of the patients of the said hospital.
2 - If the mentioned hospital is abolished or closed, or if a Board of Directors is not formed, the surplus yield shall be given to the head of the Communal Council (Majlis al-Jismani) to be spent on the poor patients of the Mosaic community in Baghdad. If the Communal Council does not exist, the surplus yield shall be spent on the poor of the mentioned denomination.
3 - The guardianship belongs to the Hacham Bashi of Baghdad, Abraham Moshe Hillel. Upon his death or departure, the guardianship shall pass to the person who holds the position of Hacham Bashi in Baghdad, whether as a permanent official or acting deputy.
4 - The aforementioned endower has appointed and designated his son Ezra as an overseer for the trustee. In the event of his absence or death, the oversight shall pass to the most senior among the descendants of the descendants of the mentioned Ezra's children, as long as they reproduce and succeed one another. If they go extinct, the oversight returns to the person of the aforementioned trustee, so that the guardianship and oversight are combined in one person.
Note
The mentioned property was registered as an endowment in the Land Registry Department according to the endower's conditions. A permanent Land Registry deed was issued for it in September 1925, serial number 426, kept in the file. Written on April 29, 1954.
