UNIVERSITY OF LONDON GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION EXAMINATION OVERSEAS
The statement on the other side of this form shows grades awarded to you at the Advanced and/or at the Ordinary level in each subject for which you entered. This information is sent before the issue of Certificates and the University reserves the right to correct it. The document is not a Certificate and must not be regarded as such. No further information will be issued by the University; the decisions of the Examiners, which have been reached after careful consideration, are final.
Advanced Level
At this level grades A, B, C, D and E are grades of pass in descending order of merit, reading from left to right, and grade F denotes failure. Grade O at this level indicates a compensatory Ordinary level pass. An 'X' indicates absence from the examination in a subject. 'Z' indicates that a script has been received in answer to questions set on a subject, syllabus or option other than the one for which you entered, and no result is given.
In Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Physics and Zoology two grades will appear. The first represents the grade obtained in the subject as a whole including the practical test. On the right of this appears the grade given in the practical test only.
Candidates who entered at this level for both Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics but who passed only in Papers I, II and III are awarded passes in Pure Mathematics and Mathematics (Pure and Applied). A compensatory pass at Ordinary level in Applied Mathematics may also be given. Candidates who passed only in Papers I, III and IV are awarded passes in Applied Mathematics and Mathematics (Pure and Applied). A compensatory pass at Ordinary level in Pure Mathematics may also be given.
There are no oral tests in the languages at this level except for certain schools in West Africa. For candidates from these schools there are two grades in French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish. The first represents the result obtained in the subject as a whole including the oral test. On the right of this appears the grade given in the oral examination only. The oral grades are A, B, C, D, E, O and F. Failure in the oral test does not necessarily indicate failure in the subject as a whole.
Ordinary Level
At this level grades A, B, C, D, E and ⟦O⟧ are grades of pass in descending order of merit reading from left to right, and grades F, G and H denote failure. ⟦'X'⟧ indicates absence from the examination in a subject. 'Z' indicates that a script has been received in answer to questions set on a subject, syllabus or option other than the one for which you entered, and no result is given.
There are no oral tests in the languages at this level.
To help unsuccessful candidates at this level to assess their future prospects grade F indicates a narrow margin of failure, G that the margin was wider and H that the candidate did not obtain more than about one third of the marks for the subject as a whole.
Special Provision Governing the Award of Certificates
Private candidates who sit at centres in certain countries and who, at the time of entry, do not hold a qualification which exempts them, are required to pass in three subjects including English Language or in three subjects with a satisfactory standard of attainment in English Language (grades F or G) in order to qualify for a Certificate. The words "Certificate will not be issued" will appear at the bottom of the form overleaf whenever such a candidate fails to qualify for the award of a Certificate.

The statement on the other side of this form shows grades awarded to you in each subject for which you entered. No notices showing combined Ordinary and
Advanced results will be issued. This information is sent before the issue of Certificates and the University reserves the right to correct it. The document is not a Certificate and must not be regarded as such. No further
information will be issued by the University; the decisions of the Examiners, which have been reached after careful consideration, are final. The grades awarded are to be interpreted as follows :
Grades A, B, C, D, E and O at Ordinary level and A, B, C, D and E at Advanced level are grades of pass in descending order of merit. Grade O at Advanced level shows a compensatory Ordinary level pass. Grade
F (Advanced level) and Grade F, G, H (Ordinary level) denote failure. An 'X' indicates absence from the examination in a subject.
In French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish two grades are given. The first represents the result obtained in the subject as a whole including the oral test. On the right of this appears the grade given in the oral
examination only. At the Advanced level the oral grades are A, B, C, D, E, O and F; and at the Ordinary level are A, B, C and F. Failure (F) in the oral test does not necessarily indicate failure in the subject as a whole.
There are no oral tests in these languages in the Overseas examination.
At the Advanced level in Biology, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Physics and Zoology, two grades will appear. The first represents the grade obtained in the subject as a whole including the practical test. On the right
this appears the grade given in the practical test only.
In English Language with Spoken English the first grade is the English Language result. The second grade is the Spoken English result expressed as A, B or C (Pass) or F (Fail). To obtain a pass grade in Spoken
English a candidate must have satisfied the examiner in both reading and conversation.
To help unsuccessful candidates at Ordinary level to assess their future prospects grade F indicates a narrow margin of failure, G that the margin was wider, and H that the candidate did not obtain more than about
third of the marks for the subject as a whole.
In the Special paper Grade 1 indicates Distinction, Grade 2 Merit and Grade U an unclassified result. No candidate may be awarded Distinction or Merit unless he has attained grades A, B, C, D or E at the Advanced
level in the same subject. Special papers are available only in the Summer examination and only to candidates in the United Kingdom.
If these results oblige you to consider entering for the next examination you are urged to consult the appropriate authority or regulations without delay.

Subject / Punishment of Students
In view of what was committed by the students:
1- Fawzi Shaoul Robin Muzayyin.
2- (Saleh Fawzi) Khedhouri Swaffir.
3- Muwaffaq Najib Salman Dalij.
4- Ibrahim Isaac Ibrahim.
Of tampering and recklessness in the school on Sunday, 21 / 5 / 1964, which led to the disruption of order ⟦during⟧
the lesson of Mr. Hazim Shaya, the Discipline Committee met on Wednesday, 3 / 6 / 64, at the request of
the concerned teacher and decided the following: -
1- Imposing a temporary expulsion punishment for two days on both Fawzi Shaoul Robin Muzayyin and (Saleh Fawzi) Khedhouri
Swaffir starting from the morning of Thursday, 4 / 6 / 64, with a deduction of twenty points from their behavior average
due to their repeated acts of disrupting order. However, considering that depriving them of attendance at
the school would cause harm to their academic achievement, and out of leniency towards them due to the proximity of the final exams, it was decided to suspend
the execution of the first part of the punishment and suffice with deducting twenty points from the behavior average of each of them.
2- Ten points have previously been deducted from the behavior grades of the student Fawzi Shaoul Robin Muzayyin on 6 / 5 / 64
and accordingly, the total number of points deducted from his behavior has reached thirty points.
3- Withdrawal of eligibility from the student (Saleh Fawzi) Khedhouri Swaffir for this year.
4- Imposing a registered warning punishment against student Muwaffaq Najib Salman Dalij with a deduction of ten points from his
behavior average for committing acts that disrupt order in various circumstances inside and outside the classroom despite being warned
repeatedly about the necessity of maintaining quiet and order.
5- Imposing a warning punishment on student Ibrahim Isaac Ibrahim with a deduction of five points from his behavior average,
but in view of the mentioned student's admission of his mistake and his showing of remorse for the actions he committed, the Discipline
Committee decided to lift this punishment from him if no other violation is committed by him until the end of the current
academic year.
This is with the knowledge that the student is considered to have failed his grade if 51% or more is deducted from his behavior grades.
