Subject: Learning the Spanish Language
The official opening of the Spanish-Arab Cultural Institute in Baghdad will be
soon, and since a part of the academic year has passed, the lectures for teaching
the Spanish language will open on the third of March 1959.
This course is for a duration of 3 months and lessons are given 3 times a week on the evenings of
Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

The Discipline Committee met under the chairmanship of the School Principal on Monday, 16/2/1952, and decided in accordance

1- Imposing the penalty of reprimand against the student Sabah Moussa Aqrab from the second intermediate grade (C) with the deduction of fifteen
degrees from his conduct average for performing acts disruptive to order inside the classroom during the English language
lesson and in various other lessons, despite the administration's repeated warnings to him regarding the necessity of maintaining
calm and order.

Memorandum
Regarding the School Trip
1- On Wednesday, the 24th of this month, the school will organize a school trip to Habbaniyah for students of the fifth and sixth primary grades,
and the first, second, third, and fourth intermediate grades in both scientific and literary branches, and the fifth scientific and literary grade.
2- On Wednesday, the 31st of this month, the school will organize a school trip to Habbaniyah for students of the first, second, third, and fourth primary grades.
3- Gathering will be in the school yard at exactly seven-thirty in the morning, and departure will be at exactly eight o'clock in the morning.
4- Every student wishing to participate in the trip must pay an amount of (300) fils for transportation, water, ice, and other services.
5- Every student must bring their own food, fruit, and whatever they need for the trip.
6- No student is allowed to participate in the trip unless they submit written consent from their guardian on the form distributed by the school.
7- It is strictly forbidden to bring tape recorders, radios, or any other musical instrument.
8- It is strictly forbidden to go into the water or swim in the lake or in the swimming pools located there.
9- It is strictly forbidden to move away from the student gathering place or go to distant places alone.
10- Students are requested to maintain the reputation of their school, adhere to the trip regulations, display virtuous morals, and cooperate with the supervising teachers.
11- Trip fees will be refunded to students who do not participate for compelling reasons only.

The Discipline Committee met under the chairmanship of the School Principal on Sunday and Tuesday, January 11, 1959
and January 13, 1959, and decided to impose a temporary expulsion penalty for a period of three days on the students Sabah Saleh Moshi and Faraj
Youssef Hayawi Naqqash from the first intermediate class (A), starting from <del>Tuesday</del> Wednesday, January 14, 1959.
The committee also decided to deduct twenty points from the conduct average of each of them for committing acts disruptive to order
inside and outside the classroom on numerous occasions despite being warned repeatedly, and for failing to obey the orders
issued to them by the substitute and the administration immediately.
However, in view of the harm that their deprivation from school attendance would cause to their academic achievement, it was decided to suspend the execution
of the first part of the penalty and settle for deducting twenty points from their conduct average only, provided that the penalty is executed
in full upon the first violation committed by them.
This is with the knowledge that a student is considered to have failed his grade if (50%) or more is deducted from his conduct marks.
This is in accordance with Article (40) and Article (41) of the Secondary School Regulations for the year 1954.

The following is the decision of the Teachers' Council held on 1/30/1959 regarding the students Maurice Ibrahim Rahim and Haron Ibrahim Ishaq for your information.
1- Expulsion of the student Maurice Ibrahim Rahim for a period of two weeks and the deduction of twenty points from his conduct grade, provided that the implementation of the expulsion penalty begins from 2/10/1959 so that this student is not deprived of the mid-year exam, out of leniency towards him.
2- Providing the student Haron Ibrahim Ishaq with a transfer certificate to another school after he submits a written apology to the Discipline Committee through the school administration for his misconduct; otherwise, he shall be dismissed for the remainder of the school year starting from 2/1/1959 in accordance with Paragraph 7 of Article 40 of the Secondary School Regulations No. 54 of 1954.

Subject / Student Discipline
The Discipline Committee met under the chairmanship of the School Principal on Monday, 1952/2/11, and decided in accordance
with Article (40) and Article (41) of the Secondary Schools Regulation No. (54) of 1954 as follows:
1- Imposing a penalty of censure against the student Sabah Moshi Aqirab from the second intermediate grade (C) with a deduction of fifteen
degrees from his conduct average for performing acts disruptive to order inside the classroom during the English language
lesson and in various other lessons, despite the administration's repeated warnings to him regarding the necessity of maintaining
calm and order.
2- Imposing a penalty of recorded reprimand against the student Daoud Baruch Shammas from the second intermediate grade (C) with
a deduction of ten degrees from his conduct average for performing acts disruptive to order in the English language lesson.
3- Imposing a penalty of temporary expulsion for a period of fifteen days on the student Faisal Sassoon Abda from the first
intermediate grade (A) starting from the morning of Tuesday, 1952/2/12. The committee also decided
to deduct twenty degrees from his conduct average for performing acts disruptive to order inside and
outside the classroom within the school, and for his misconduct before the administration and his failure to obey the orders issued
to him by it immediately.
Note that the student is considered to have failed his grade if 51% or more is deducted from his conduct
grades.

Announcement
Please note the following regarding the borrowing of Arabic and English books:
1- It is not permissible to delay an Arabic book borrowed for more than one week, and an English book for more than
two weeks, noting that the student can renew the loan if there is no other
student interested in it.
2- If the student delays the book and does not renew its loan, ten fils will be charged for each day
after the end of the prescribed period.
3- It is not permissible to borrow more than one book, and whoever wishes to borrow another book must pay an amount
of a quarter of a dinar or more depending on the price of the book against a receipt, noting that the book may not remain
with the student for more than the prescribed period.
4- The borrower is obligated, if the book is lost or torn, to pay its price or buy another book in its place, and the administration
has the right to decide the price of the book in case it is not replaced.
5- Entering the library is strictly prohibited for non-students allowed to do so, and students must
receive and return books through the library window.
6- Books are collected from all borrowers fifteen days before the mid-year exam and fifteen days before the
final exam as well.
7- Books are not lent to anyone other than the school's male and female students.
8- Whoever wishes to borrow books during the summer vacation must pay a quarter of a dinar or more (depending on
the value of the book) as insurance for each Arabic or English book, and pay 150 fils for each children's
book. These books are collected from the borrowers fifteen days before the start of the school year,
and whoever is late in returning the books, 10 fils will be deducted from their insurance for each day the book is late.
9- The library welcomes every student who generously donates books to it.
