Since this Presidency wishes to open a religious course at the Frank Iny School
(as in previous years) for the study of the Tanakh, religion, and worship rituals.
Therefore, His Eminence Rabbi Sassoon Khadhuri urges his distinguished sons to register their children in
this course, noting that the fees for transporting students and returning them to their homes are free and at the expense of
the Presidency of the Community.
Those who wish to study in this course should visit the Presidency of the Community during official working hours
on Sunday and Monday, July 4 and 5, 1965, to register.

Al-Hikma University
Academic Branches
Al-Hikma University offers three academic branches, each lasting four years, granting those who complete its curricula
a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. These
two branches are both recognized by the Ministry of Education and the University of Baghdad. As for the third branch, it
opened in the year 1964 / 1965 and grants its graduates a Bachelor of Arts degree (English Language),
and the levels of these three branches and their curricula are at the level of higher studies departments in colleges
and American universities, and the instruction in them is in the English language.
Scholarships
In service of science and culture, Al-Hikma University encourages female and male students with high academic
qualifications; therefore, it offers annually a number of full and partial academic scholarships
for students who excel in their studies, and it also seeks to provide possible assistance
to non-excelling students of limited means who wish to join Al-Hikma University.
Registration Date
The Admissions Office will accept applications for joining the university for passing and re-sit students,
and applications to participate in scholarship exams starting from the coming August 2nd until
the 28th of it.

Al-Hikma University Special Instructions for Admission Summer 1965
Curricula: Al-Hikma University offers three branches of study, each lasting four years, through which
the following academic degrees are awarded: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Bachelor of Science
in Civil Engineering, and Bachelor of Arts in English. It should be noted that the latter branch
is new. The university began teaching it at the beginning of 1964, and all branches are open to female students
as well.
Dormitory: Al-Hikma University is not prepared to accept boarding students; however,
the Dominican Sisters have established a building for female university students on land very close to Al-Hikma University.
For complete information, please contact the Dominican Sisters at the Annunciation Convent, Hussam al-Din Street
in Karrada al-Sharqiya (Telephone 90599), or Dar al-Sanabel - Za'faraniya (Telephone
93021 ext. 54).
Admission Requirements: Those wishing to join the Civil Engineering branch must have passed
the Iraqi government examinations for preparatory study, Scientific Branch. They must also participate in
the scientific entrance exam conducted by the university in the subjects of English, Mathematics, and Physics.
Those wishing to join the Business Administration and English Language branches must have passed
the Iraqi government examinations for preparatory study, whether the branch was Scientific, Literary, or Commercial. They must
also participate in the entrance exam conducted by the university in the subjects of English and Mathematics
(Arithmetic and Algebra). The exam in Mathematics and Physics will be in the Arabic language.
Application for the Entrance Exam: Those wishing to join the first class must fill out
the application form before the twenty-seventh of August, and submit the necessary documents for that
(see the section on documents below), and pay the registration fee of half a dinar. As for students from
outside Iraq, they must hold a certificate equivalent to the preparatory study certificate of the Iraqi
government.
Scholarships: Al-Hikma University grants ten full scholarships and five other scholarships at the rate of
half, after an aptitude test conducted by the university at the time of the entrance exams in September.
The granting of scholarships depends on academic ability (as evidenced by the general government
exams and Al-Hikma University scholarship exams), on need, and on character.
Financial Aid: There are limited partial financial aids available for those wishing to join the
university who have good academic ability and are unable to pay the full fees. Those
seeking these financial aids must fill out a special financial aid application form at the same time
they fill out the university application form.
Note: All financial aid applications submitted after the twenty-seventh of August will be ignored.
Documents: Those wishing to join the first class must submit the following documents to
the Admissions Office, before Friday, the twenty-seventh of August.

Special Instructions for Admission - 2
1 - A school certificate of preparatory study certified by the General Examinations Directorate in the Office of the Ministry of Education.
2 - A certificate of non-conviction (Criminal Record Clearance).
3 - Iraqi Nationality Certificate or a photocopied version (certified by the Directorate of Travel and Nationality).
Non-Iraqis must submit a residency book or passport.
4 - Smallpox vaccination certificate, and a health certificate confirming the student is free from infectious diseases.
5 - Christians must submit a baptism certificate and a confirmation certificate if they have been granted confirmation.
6 - Three portrait photographs.
Fees and Dues: Tuition fees are one hundred and fifty dinars per year, paid in four installments in advance. The student also pays a registration fee of two dinars during the three registration days. This fee is non-refundable, but it is deducted from the first installment fee, which must be paid before the student is allowed to enter the classroom. No student will be allowed to enter the classroom upon the opening of the university unless they present a receipt for the fees signed by the Treasurer's Office. Fees will not be returned to the student if they withdraw from the university after the tenth of October, nor will any reductions be made in the event of late enrollment or long absence.
As for those who register later than the specified date and those who participate in late entrance exams, they must pay additional fees that will not be deducted from their tuition fees.
A portion of the laboratory fee, amounting to two dinars, is returned to the student at the end of the year provided they are not responsible for breaking, damaging, or losing laboratory equipment.
University activity and laboratory fees must be paid even by those who win scholarships.

The university administration reserves the right, if necessary, to make any change to any or all of these fees and dues at any time and without prior notice, and it has the right to make these changes effective for all students.
Study and Discipline: A student belonging to Al-Hikma University is assumed to know that they have been accepted therein provided they gain the satisfaction of the university administration, which reserves the right to dismiss any unsatisfactory student. It is also assumed that the guardians of students who send their sons and daughters to this university have, by doing so, agreed to the regulations that the university deems necessary to maintain standards of study, discipline, and conduct.

Registration and Examination Dates
August 2 - 27: The Office of the Director of Admissions will be open from eight o'clock in the morning until one o'clock
in the afternoon on the days from August 2 to 27, except for Saturdays and Sundays of this month when
the office will be closed.
August 27 (Friday): Deadline for admission applications; the Office of the Director of Admissions will not accept any application
after this date.
September 3 (Friday): At eight o'clock in the morning, admission and fellowship examinations in the subject of
English Language will be held.
September 6 (Monday): At eight o'clock in the morning, admission and fellowship examinations in the subjects of
Mathematics and Physics will be held.
September 13 (Monday): At eleven o'clock in the morning, the results of the admission examinations for the first class will be announced
and a list of the names of the accepted students will be published.
September 15, 16, 17 (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday): Registration for first-class students takes place from
eight o'clock until twelve o'clock in the morning. Students who have applied for membership in the first
class must register on one of these three days, and no student can register unless they have submitted
their complete documents to the Registrar.
The student must pay a non-refundable registration fee of two dinars upon registration. They
must also pay the remainder of their first installment and purchase their books before being allowed to enter the class, and the
student will not be considered to have completed their registration until after paying the first installment of the fees. Furthermore, no student
will be allowed to enter the class upon the opening of the university without a receipt signed by the Treasurer's office.
September 29 (Wednesday): At 8:30 AM, official attendance begins for first-class students.
