Bulletin Preparation Plan The bulletin includes statistical information on recorded crimes in a number of Arab countries during the year 1986, which are: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Republic of Iraq, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Syrian Arab Republic, the State of Qatar, the Lebanese Republic, and the Yemen Arab Republic. The process of extracting the statistical data contained in the special forms for criminal statistics in the field of police and security No. (1/1) has been completed into special tables categorized according to the following chapters: A - Chapter One: Details of recorded crimes for each Arab country separately: Chapter One can be considered as a process of re-listing the data sent from Arab countries according to their actual state, with the exception of the process of refining some data, i.e., removing information that was included in the form of a single country such as data on detainees. Also, correcting some errors that ⟦...⟧ in the forms of some Arab countries, especially in the field of crimes committed against property. Where the process of correcting ⟦...⟧ for the data was carried out by presenting it in its correct form. (See page 38). Presenting the data as it is for each Arab country enables the researcher and the observer to understand the criminal and security reality in each country, and without it, that process would be difficult to achieve. B - Chapter Two: Comparison of crimes by Arab countries and type of crime: This chapter contains comparisons at the level of crime type such as premeditated murder or intent, thefts, or assault ⟦...⟧ etc., and for all types of crimes a comparison of all Arab countries participating in this bulletin.
6 C - Chapter Three: Distribution of groups of crimes committed according to Arab countries and their percentages: This chapter is considered one of the chapters that dealt with the process of data analysis according to percentages, where the total of crimes against persons is considered equal to 100%, then the percentage of intentional homicide or harm ⟦...⟧ etc. is extracted. Thus, the percentage is reached for each crime within the total and at the level of a single country. D - Chapter Four: Distribution of crime groups according to known perpetrators and their percentages in Arab countries: In it, known perpetrators were distributed according to gender: males and females, and according to age: adults and juveniles, and for each of the (14) groups separately. Likewise, the applied aspect related to the percentages for each of the males, females, adults, and juveniles, and for each country separately. E - Chapter Five: Distribution of crime groups according to known perpetrators, registered and discovered crimes for each Arab country with percentages: As it includes a statement of the ratio of discovered crimes to the total registered crimes and known perpetrators for every (100) crimes, such as juveniles, adults, males, and females, relative to every 100 discovered crimes. F - Chapter Six: Distribution of crime groups according to Arab countries for the years 85 - 1986: This chapter is considered new, added to the bulletin for the first time, containing a series of crime groups for each Arab country starting from the year 1980 until the year of the current bulletin's issuance dedicated to the year 1986. The reason is
7 The series begins from the year 1980, as that is the date of commencement with the new form. We aimed thereby to alleviate the burden on researchers and observers in the field of crime to identify its course and development during this period. A number of graphs have been added to the bulletin for further clarification. 4 - An analysis was conducted for the distribution of crimes according to what affects every 100 thousand of the population. 5 - The following symbols were used: (..) means the value = zero. It was considered equal to zero when written as such by the source or when the number of crimes is mentioned for the classification main and its sub-classifications and no numbers are mentioned in front of some classifications which means that its value is zero. ( - ) means not mentioning the number of crimes or units, or their anonymity, or non- knowledge of them. They are listed as such when the source writes them as such or when mentioned the total of the main classification and the size of the sub-classifications is not mentioned. ( * ) means details are merged into one total. We hope that we have succeeded in the preparation and presentation, and from God we derive help and success.
