This is a medicine for ophthalmia (eye inflammation)
If there is in the eye swelling or redness or tearing
Grind this medicine and blow from it into the eye at night
at the time of sleep, it will heal by the permission of God Exalted. And this is
the medicine: take ginger and sugar candy, and from each of them
the weight of a dirham, and take Isfahani kohl the weight of three
dirhams, and take yellow alum the weight of a dirham, and take

frankincense the weight of a dirham, and take rock candy the weight of a dirham
and grind everything with a good grinding until it becomes like flour
and blow from it into the eye at the time of sleep at night.

Another medicine for hot ophthalmia which is in the eye,
redness and tearing and hot ophthalmia: take from the woodlice (sowbugs)
which are in the walls, take from them the amount of ten
grains and they are ground with a good grinding until they become like an ointment
and the eye is anointed with them at night at the time of sleep, it will heal
by the permission of God Exalted, and this medicine is well-tested.
