His Excellency the Dean of the Higher Teachers' Training College, Respected
Baghdad
Greetings,
Reference to your letter No. 6100 dated 11/19/1956
The books that I borrowed on 2/18/1947, totaling 28 copies of
Algebra and Arithmetic books, I had distributed at the time to the students of the Matriculation course
which the Ministry of Education opened then for scholarship students, and I was lecturing in it by assignment
from the Ministry of Education. The students of the course were in dire need of using them at that time.
I had thought that the students had returned them to the Higher Teachers' Training College warehouse
directly at the time after they finished using them, but it appears that they did not
do so.
Since the books in question were used by the students and for their benefit
and not for my own personal benefit, and as it appears the students of the aforementioned course actually kept them.
Please approach the esteemed Ministry of Education to consider the prices of these books as a final expense
as costs for the students' studies, and I thank you.
