⟦Original⟧
His Excellency the Director General of Police, Respected.
After greetings,
The Directorate of Traffic and Transport Police for the Baghdad Brigade previously allowed two
of the buses used to transport our school students on Al-Rashid Street and the Karkh side
and Ghazi Street, to transport students from their homes to the school back and forth.
We were surprised on the morning of Sunday, March 20, 1955, by an order banning these
buses from passing through Al-Rashid Street. Given that most of these male and female students
are kindergarten students and are young in age and cannot attend at specific centers
near their homes to board the vehicles, which forces the drivers to pick them up from their homes,
it has become impossible for them to come to school without the transport designated for this purpose.
Therefore, we hope Your Excellency will consider the matter of allowing these vehicles to pass through
Al-Rashid Street, especially since the school year is nearing its end and the time these vehicles pass
is mostly at a time when Al-Rashid Street is not crowded. Thank you.
Please accept our highest respect.
