The Honorable Rabbi Sassoon Khedhouri
Greetings,
The attached letter contains the school administration's response to Mr. Reuben Heskel Qashqoush
referring to his inquiry addressed to the school administration in English regarding the system
currently followed in the school concerning tuition fee allowances granted to parents
of students who have more than one child (up to six children) in the school. We have seen fit to send
a copy of it to your Excellency for your information. As for the translation of the response, it is as follows:
Dear Mr. Reuben Heskel - Greetings,
In response to your letter dated February 4, 1958, regarding the allowances granted in
school fees, I inform you that the policy followed by the school administration
in the past few years was based on collecting full fees from well-to-do individuals
for all their children regardless of the number of children from one family enrolled in the school,
taking into consideration that the cost per student in this school is slightly more than double the full fees
collected from the student.
While the school administration expects well-to-do parents to contribute
to improving the school's conditions by paying at least the full cost of education for their children, if not
more than that, our policy has always been to grant exemptions from school fees,
either fully or partially, to all persons of whose weak financial circumstances
we are convinced.
Please accept our regards,
Abdullah Obadia
Principal
