dated February 11, 1959, addressed to you, please note the following regarding the three points
mentioned in the above-referenced letter:
- 1 - The textbooks in question were received by our school in small batches
over the past two years in the form of postal parcels. Therefore, no customs entry
permits were sent with them, as there was no need for customs permits in that case.
- 2 - Some of the original invoices signed by the supplier were lost, which forced us to
submit copies that are true to the original.
- 3 - The true origin of these books is (( France )), but given our school's dealings with
the owners of Librairie Antoine in Beirut, who are agents for many bookstores in France, and given
the availability of these books in Beirut, we brought them through suppliers from Beirut instead
of France due to its proximity.
Please also be informed that our school has previously obtained the necessary funds
to purchase textbooks from the same supplier in the past under the same arrangement.
