To the honorable and virtuous Professor Edmond Aoun - Beirut
Greetings,
I have received your letter from Beirut dated July 10, 1957, and I regret to inform you
that I will not be able to spend the summer in Lebanon this year due to the heavy workload.
As for the possibility of your employment at our school next year, it is not possible
at the present time because there is no vacancy at the school for the coming year.
May God grant you success in your endeavors.
Please convey my greetings to your father, and please accept my ⟦sincere⟧ greetings to you. Best regards.

The honorable and zealous educator, Director of the Frank Aini Institute ⟦...⟧
I am pleased to offer you the warmest greetings and most sincere
heartfelt sentiments, praying to God Almighty to bless
your times and crown all your endeavors with success, prosperity, and guidance.
Furthermore, I have come with this letter of mine, may God honor you,
in response to your desire to contact you regarding this academic year
if there is an opportunity to deliberate with you regarding the matter of teaching at
your flourishing institute. My active student, the rising young man
Latif Houri, whom you know, informed me that he wishes to contact you
in this regard because he prefers that I teach at your place instead of elsewhere.
A copy of the certificate's image is still in your possession.
I recall that you mentioned in your previous letter last
year that you intended this year to come to Lebanon to spend
the summer season in these regions.
If you wish to come, please mention a word in your message

and the hotel where you will be staying so that I may have the honor of meeting
your excellency and discussing the matter thoroughly. This is if you are ⟦truly⟧
in agreement with that.
I conclude my lines with a prayer to the Almighty Lord
to guide your steps toward what is good for the youth and humanity
as a whole; indeed, God is All-Hearing, All-Answering.

To the Honorable Director of Shamash School
Greetings,
I would like to present to you herewith an application submitted by Mr. ⟦Latif Houri⟧
for his appointment as a teacher in your school. Mr. ⟦Latif⟧ is a graduate of
the American University of Beirut (1937) and has obtained a ⟦B.A.⟧ degree
with distinction. He worked as a teacher at the ⟦Frank Iny⟧
Secondary School for two years (1948 - 1950). He was a very successful teacher
in his work and beloved by his students.
Mr. ⟦Latif⟧ is among the best teachers I have known,
as he is characterized by high morals and broad culture, and he also masters
the Arabic and English languages perfectly.
I hope you will consider this request of his with kindness, and I am fully
confident that he will perform his duty in the best possible way if he is appointed.
Please accept my highest respect.
Sincerely,
⟦Latif Houri⟧

So I followed the teaching profession and practiced it for about
fifteen years, and I was appointed to the official ⟦examination⟧
committees ⟦line⟧ and therefore I am ready, in this case, to
teach in your institute the Arabic and French languages,
primary and secondary, and there is no way now to praise myself
regarding how well I master these two languages in all their branches.
My request to you, upon your receipt of my letter, is to send
me a word informing me about the working hours and the required
conditions, so that I may prepare to go immediately ⟦line⟧
Please accept, sir, the assurances of my highest respect 1 - 10
