Our dear student sons,
Today, the Arab nation in all its regions commemorates a painful memory: the anniversary of the ill-fated Balfour Declaration,
which was the beginning of its great ordeal of colonial-Zionist aggression against dear Palestine. Soon
the commemoration of this anniversary became an incentive to close ranks, unify words, and strengthen ties of cooperation
and solidarity among the people of the Arab world in all fields of public life to consolidate the principles of right
and justice, spread the banner of knowledge, raise the torch of culture, and build a new generation that receives its full share of
civilization and progress, contributing to the liberation of its usurped land and the achievement of advancement and prosperity for its
dear homeland through all means and capabilities.
The establishment of the National Union of Iraqi Students was among these means, aiming for noble goals
to strengthen the foundations of national unity by fulfilling the duties required by the precious homeland
from its students, the men of the future, and spreading the spirit of sincerity, affection, and harmony throughout its regions,
combating colonialism with the weapon of modern science, high culture, and high technical competence.
As we bless these goals for the good and sovereignty of our nation, we sincerely advise our
dear student sons to keep in mind, in all circumstances and conditions, the necessity of being keen to perform
their academic and cultural duties to the fullest extent, and to consider the guidance of their teachers as
paternal advice to them, and to consider their school as their affectionate mother; this school which
has become, thanks to the extensive efforts exerted for its sake, a living ideal model of order and scientific
standards, its pillar being the authentic cooperation existing between its students, its administration, and its teaching staff,
this cooperation which we hope will continue to grow and prosper, hoping that it remains always a beacon
for our student sons under their National Union, by which they are guided in everything that brings them good
and success, making their motto "performing duties before demanding rights," this motto which has become
one of the rules of modern education through its aim of maintaining order, and avoiding the impulse
behind everything that conflicts with the true interests of the students and inflicts heavy damage on their scientific
and cultural future. Furthermore, the members of the educational staff of this school and all those responsible for its administration
hope that the National Union of Students therein will be a righteous tool for building and construction, and that they contribute
to solving the school's problems in a way that ensures its growth and prosperity. This is for the benefit of this rising generation
upon whom the nation pins its highest hopes to ward off the hardships and tribulations that have befallen it, and to restore what was stolen
of its rights, and to achieve the glory and prosperity it aspires to in its comprehensive renaissance, noble goals,
and blessed aspirations. Long live Palestine, Arab and free.
