Department Name: ⟦Notary Public⟧ in Baghdad Amount Collected: -/750 Issue Number: 787 Page Number: Registry Number: 199 Date: 1948/2/18 ⟦illegible stamp⟧ I, the undersigned, Heskel bin Meir Hakham Sassoon, acknowledge and confess that I have received from my brother Sassoon bin Meir Hakham Sassoon a sum of fifty-five Dinars, and this amount has become a debt owed by him I pledge to pay it to him on the date of February 1, 1949, and to secure the fulfillment of this debt I have appointed on my behalf and as my representative Mr. Abdullah Hayyim Yehuda Hakham Sassoon to place all the shares transferred to me from my father from the two pieces of land known as Al-Karr and Al-Suwailem located in Abu Gharaq sub-district belonging to the district of Al-Hindiya and Al-Hilla Province, numbered as piece No. 1 or 28 from District No. (12) as security for the creditor my aforementioned brother Sassoon according to the terms of the specific law for that, and if I do not pay the debt upon maturity then no interest shall accrue on it, but he has the right to sell the shares and collect his debt from them.
